But CC Tennis Club is completely different. Walking into the pro shop and being greeted by Gracie, their sweet black lab, and the friendly faces of Terri and David, was a breath of fresh air--warm, welcoming, and genuine.
While $700 a year might seem steep, it's actually a bargain compared to other clubs in the area, which often charge three times as much or more! The ball machine rental is $25/hour. I realized that if I used it for just 2.3 hours a month, I'd break even. Now, I don't have to store one or worry about replacing balls. I've also been attending the 1.5-hour Wednesday clinics with Bill Parsha, and my game has improved tremendously. At just $25, it's a steal, and the smaller class sizes mean plenty of hitting time and more personalized instruction. I've even taken a few private lessons at $70/hour--again, super affordable. Bill's coaching style is relaxed and fun, perfect for anyone who doesn't want the rigid 'drill sergeant' approach. He also helped me set up a beginner's clinic for my friends, and they can't stop raving about him.
The facilities are simple but functional. There's no fancy clubhouse, but the shaded seating areas are perfect for cooling down and socializing after matches. Personally, I prefer this over higher annual dues for amenities I don't need.
