I'm not too happy with the lack of respect with my time. I am constantly the one trying to call and connect to get things done and completed to a satisfactory level. I was advised by Pablo to pre-order parts for a service that was "highly recommended" by Pablo, but after a lot of back and forth with lack of communication, I don't really believe this service is needed (consulted with other shop) and now I'm being left hanging about whether the parts are being refundable because there's no other job for it. It sounded like a strange sales pitch to pre order parts for a future service but I came here from a referral so I thought there would be some guarantees. If you want to actually get a returned phone call or a technician to show up don't use "Protector". I called this company multiple times and was told I would get a tech call back that day to schedule an appointment,.It never happened. I finally got through to one person who made an appointment to show up at my boat at 10:30 am on a Friday. I called the day before to confirm my appointment. The person I talked to, who I believe was the owner, said he didn't see my appointment on the calendar, but he said he would call back in 5 minutes to confirm either way. The called never came. I called again, at 9:30am, the day of the appointment and got no answer. Shortly thereafter I received a text telling me that they were running over at a job in Alameda. He said he would call me back.... as expected that call never happened either. I never heard from anyone from Protector again. Protector Boat Service, is the best of the best. If you own an outboard and don't know about this business, get your head out of the sand and get there. Alicia, Pablo, Danny and crew are great. From the moment I made the phone call to book an appointment, the follow-through was great. Was able to get an appointment is a couple weeks. They are a very busy shop from what I can tell. I had a 100hr service performed on both my main motor and my kicker motor, also had a VHF radio and antenna installed. They did a FANTASTIC job and I couldn't be happier with the work they performed. Fast turn around and great communication from the front office. And when i picked it up, Danny and Pablo were there to greet me to answer any questions. I have been working with Pablo and Protector Boats since the last Yamaha Dealer I was working with in San Francisco almost put me out of business. Pablo has been my #1 guy since then. If I have an emergency, even if it's a holiday, he calls me right back and has been on the spot to help and serve Bay Voyager, especially when in need. Protector Boats and their lead mechanic Pablo is 5 star all the way. I bring them two boats for repairs and periodic maintenance and they keep our boats in tip top shape. One is equipped with twin 300 Mercury engines and the other with twin 200 Yamaha engines. Pablo and his staff are certified to work on both. The maintenance staff also works directly with warranty folks to assist in the submission of claims. They make the process as smooth as possible.
