I was nervous the first day but Kristi creates a welcoming and supportive environment. I felt safe to express myself, make mistakes and to ask questions. The format of the class starts with brief introductions to the other friendly drop in students then warm up exercises which are always different and thought provoking. Then we take turns performing cold reads into the camera. She chooses the scenes and gives us options and flexibility on what we want to work on. (If we let her know ahead of time she will email us the scripts so we have more time to prepare. )Then we get to watch the playback of our performances and receive constructive feedback right then and there that we can immediately implement into our second take of the scene. Kristi gives expert advice and encourages us to be creative and try different things. She can help pinpoint weaknesses and strengths and how exactly to improve upon them. I've gained confidence as an actor and learned techniques that work for me. It's also been helpful to observe the other students perform different scenes and to hear Kristi's feedback for them. I highly recommend bringing a notebook to remember her insightful advice and our discussions. Kristi is a great teacher, personable, entertaining and she knows what she's talking about. I can't emphasize enough how fun her class is! We are all learning and laughing and discovering ourselves- it's an enriching experience. Another bonus is she lets you keep the recordings which helps if you don't have a reel to send out to auditions yet. Anyone can take this class, it's convenient and not too expensive, I don't think there's a better way to spend a Thursday night!

BAAS is the best full service acting studio in Northern California!…read more I began studying the Meisner Technique when I finished film school about 10 years ago. I wanted to better understand actors and how to direct them. I ended up thoroughly enjoying the technique for myself but I couldn't continue and promised I'd return to Meisner in the future. Well, 10 years passed and being older and wiser, I researched every Meisner studio in Northern California. I found BAAS and appreciated everything it offered. I decided to give it a try about 1 year ago. I started with Beginning Meiser and then added Improv 1. I moved onto Intermediate Meisner and Improv 2. To date I have also taken BAAS's Actor's Reel Workshop and BAAS's Mastermind Workshop (which included a Casting Workshop with Hollywood professional Annie Grindlay). Through all of these programs, I have been thoroughly exposed to the Meisner Technique, Improvisational Acting and the acting craft in general. I now have a solid foundation for preparation, auditioning and holding my own in a scene. Through the Mastermind Workshop I learned about the industry for the perspective of the Actor and how to manage everything from attitude, self esteem, Actor promotional materials and what to expect/how to conduct myself on set and in auditions. The experienced BAAS staff is hand-picked by founder Christy English and exude her professionalism and integrity. I intend to continue with BAAS and plan to be there a long time because I want to eventually study under Mrs. English in her Master Class. Studying the craft at this studio has informed my writing for actors, my understanding and directing of actors and has enabled me to say I am an Actor. I continue to be humbled by the required focus, commitment, creativity and strength acting requires. I think that BAAS is the best full service acting studio in Northern California. It prepares the hardworking, committed Actor for both the L.A. industry and the S.F. industry (as they differ). BAAS also has a committed network of Casting Agents, Talent Agents and Voice Over Directors that visit and present workshops of their own. I intend to take these other workshops as well. It is said that the Meisner Technique is "therapeutic but not therapy." This is because it opens the heart and trains us on authenticity. BAAS embodies a big heart and authenticity particularly because Christy English studied under Mr. Sanford Meiser himself. She and her teachers both nurture and push with a rigor that meets the student where they are at. Beyond acting, the personal growth I experienced through the classes and particularly the Mastermind workshop is profound. I highly recommend BAAS for the aspiring actor or the person interested in "acting for non-actors." Lastly, I was truly impressed with the young actors from BAAS's Teen and Children's classes when I worked with them during my Actor's Reel Workshop.

I also noticed several poor reviews mentioning bad communication, which unfortunately matches my experience. I've emailed and called and can't get anyone to respond. That says a lot about a business. I almost enrolled my kid, but honestly, I'm glad I didn't and didn't waste my money.

He made my kids feel comfortable behind the wheel and helped build their confidence with driving. Because our 19-year old daughter has learning disabilities, my wife and I wanted to make sure she…read morereceived additional driving instruction and contacted Beverly Driving School. We were willing to pay additional funds to help our daughter competently manage the responsibility of a car. We paid for 82 hours of lessons beginning 6/18/25 to 10/18/25. All of our payments were made directly by request to Mack (real name: Mohsen Khaziri) and not Beverly Driving School. The number on his website is his cell phone. Mohsen was aware our daughter had learning disabilities and we were convinced he had the training and skills to help someone like her. Knowing that he was a father gave us even more confidence that she would get the security she needed. And the fact that we invested a significant sum of money is a testimony to our commitment to get her the help she needed. On our initiative, my wife and I did ride-alongs with Mack and our daughter because we put our trust in him as a professional. When our daughter started giving us feedback that her motivation for continuing was lacking, we didn't take it too seriously since it's been a challenge for her to stick with things. Later, we realized the discomfort wasn't the process but was with Mack. Our daughter told us she was touched inappropriately on multiple occasions. He repeatedly asked to meet with her outside of lessons and requested it be kept secret. I confronted Mack by phone on 10/18/25 and after asking directly, he acknowledged viewing pictures of her on her phone. I also asked him directly about touching her thigh and he said yes - apparently because she moved her seat too far forward. Lastly, I asked him if he had ever behaved inappropriately and he denied it. He did not apologize for any of this but changed the subject to her upcoming driving test. My wife and I have taken further steps with the police about this. We filed police report P25-291-0621 with SJPD Officer D. Tran #5131. He took advantage of a person with learning disabilities and it doesn't matter what age. It was one of the most deplorable things one can do. It was done from a position of immaturity and he could have told us this was going on but he didn't say a word. We do not want this behavior to be repeated with anyone else. In addition, at the end of summer, Mack also asked us for a significant cash advance because he "needed it". We refused. I also repeatedly asked for billing statements and after repeated entreaties, received a hastily typed word document. I'm still waiting for a summarized statement of our lessons.

One thing I noticed though was that Kyle's teaching style is very hands-off. As a brand-new learner, it sometimes felt more like a "you'll learn if you make mistakes" approach rather than more active guidance and correction. Some people may prefer that style, but beginners who need more step-by-step coaching may struggle a bit. Also, I wish there were early morning class options. Riding from 12pm-4pm can get really hot, especially for beginners wearing full gear out in the sun. Overall still a good class experience, just a few things I think could make it better.
