As her parent, I had no idea that he had permanently removed part of her nail until our second visit. There was no explanation beforehand, no discussion of treatment options, and no opportunity for me to provide informed consent. Had I known what he was planning to do, I would have absolutely declined this permanent procedure and requested less invasive alternatives first. I expect transparency and communication from any medical professional--especially when treating a minor. This experience felt rushed, dismissive, and completely lacking in the basic respect of parental rights and informed consent.
