Pro star is the place to go. You get what you pay for. Jim is experienced and knows how to operate with the body/muscles/lymphatic system together to heal with his hands. He goes in depth with the muscles and does different types of stretches and finds whats triggering the pain and re-aligns the body to function as best as possible. Any dime spent here is worth it. Great deep tissue massage/stretching. If you are looking for a SPA kind massage, this place is not for you. But if you need a REAL deep tissue massage, you will be 100% satisfied. If it was my business, I'd made two improvements: removed all the boxes or some random stuff from the foyer (it looks like someone just moved in 5 minutes ago), and removed all the air refreshers ( the flowery smell was a little overwhelming). read more

I have gone here twice and absolutely love the massages and the service. I always get a deep tissue massage and the masseuses are very professional and experienced. The waiting area and the massage rooms have a great ambiance, with relaxing music and aromatherapy. The staff is also very friendly. I was here due to severe back pain. Jim was really nice and fitted me in on short notice. The place is nice and quiet, felt very comfortable upon entering. My therapist is super friendly and super accommodating. Her hands does not have nails and she has a lot of strength. Afterward she applied this thing call biofreeze, which I love. I'm a firm believer of massage therapy as the best solution for injury prevention and recovery. Finding a good knowledgeable person that would have the strength and experience is not an easy task. I workout almost everyday and allow myself 1 day a week for rest and that's when I try to see Jim. In a word, he's a magician. He has helped me with injury prevention, opening up joints and improving flexibility. I do CrossFit and it's a mixture of Olympic Weightlifting and Gymnastics at a high intensity. The body gets really beat up during the week. I've seen many people in the gym getting injuries and not being able to continue, but thanks to Jim I'm able to recover and stay injury free. Jim is an excellent massage therapist. I have only gone to this location 2 times because it's a bit far away from my house in Staten Island. The place was recommended to me by my son who was one of Jim's private clients for over 8 years being an athlete (volleyball). So i know for a fact Jim has gotten him back playing after muscle injuries much faster then he otherwise would. Being older i usually just go in for a swedish, stretching and light deep tissue. The place itself is small but very peaceful, you get all the attention needed and everyone that works there is extremely nice. I really liked the plant going across the ceiling and being on the second floor with sky lights there is plenty of natural sun during the day. Every time i'm in that area of NJ I would definitely be calling him and asking to squeeze me into the appointment book. The one minor issue is finding the place, i had a bit of a hard time the first time not being a resident of NJ and new to the area. It's in a complex and can't be seen from the street, but once you find it i'm pretty sure you will be back. Wish i had extra pictures to post but have not gotten into the craze with new technology. PS: I have full confidence that anyone else Jim hires would be on par to his skill level, so perhaps I will put up another review or alter this one to account for other therapists. read more

Stopped in on Thursday with my cousin. I can only speak on my own massage, which was great. I went in for shiatsu but upon speaking with the masseuse, a custom massage was offered and accepted. The facility was serene and clean. The heated blanket on the table was a bonus. My only complaint (I didn't remove stars BC it had nothing to do with the staff there) was that the phone rang off the hook and since I could hear the recording AND the message being left; I knew it was the proprietor of the business. He called maybe half a dozen times and this was a huge distraction and breach of tranquility. Dude, upgrade your voicemail! The masseuse was professional, unwavering, unmentioning and did not abandon my massage to answer. My cousin said the same of her masseuse. Regardless- it was an annoyance. The owner should have been pleased that both staff members were busy or have come in to sit at the desk his-damn-self. Again, we both LOVED the service but we put our phones on silent and it would have been nice if the boss man did the same. read more

I'm 6'5 215 lbs 31 years of age. I'm athletic and my career involves using most of my body, on my feet all day. I went to him in April and with just three visits he helped my problem areas. I took my husband here for a deep tissue massage because he kept complaining of soreness in his back and shoulder, they are very professional extremely reasonable prices ( and the place smells awesome) we came in with no appointment and waited less than 15 min for a 60 min deep tissue massage. After the massage my husband felt much better the therapist even gave us tips on how to ease the pain if it were ever to come back, Free of charge, they are very caring people here who want people to feel better and who like what they do. I want to start by saying, I do not blame the therapist at all. I believe she did her best - back simply lacked the skills. What makes me upset, is the fact that I spoke to Jim when I made my appointment and told him VERY SPECIFICALLY what I needed. He booked my massage, assuring me that the therapist was "very good" at what I was requesting. I needed deep tissue/sports therapy massage with stretching. I have had many many massages and this was FAR from that. As the owner of the business, he should know what the skill set of his staff is and schedule accordingly. The deep tissue was simply extra pressure and the stretching and sports massage simply did not exist. I was improperly stretched. In addition, he told me that "my type of massage" (sports/deep tissue 90 min) was valued at 150.00 Since I did not receive the aforementioned AND the massage was only 70 minutes I contacted him about my concerns and have not received a response. I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RECOMMEND. He seemed more interested in getting his money than giving a service read more

Let me start by saying I have had many massages. I have chronic lower back and shoulder pain and am always looking for a non-medicated way to relieve some of the symptoms. I am also a loyal customer, in that when I find someone I like, I stick with them. When my massage therapist moved to NC, I was left seeking a replacement. I've been to 3 massage therapists in the East Brunswick/Monroe area since, and I will say that this place has been the best so far. My therapist, Bree, was attentive and allowed me to direct her to where I needed work done. I am not a fan of the "relaxing-touch-your-face-and-massage-your-toes" type of massage. I like a firm, deep tissue massage that will provide relief for more than just the 50min that you're on the table. I extremely appreciated that she called her boss in for assistance when she knew she was in unfamiliar territory. Jim came in to assist and provide guidance to Bree on how to proceed. To me, that makes all the difference because I am not in the business of wasting my money and time only to leave a massage still in pain. They offer some discounts to new customers, and there is a currently a Groupon available for a $39/50min massage. I'd recommend checking them out if you're in pain and looking for some relief. read more

Decent massage, waited 25-30 minutes past my appointment time, I was annoyed that there was no heads up that I would be waiting that long, he could have told me he wasn't done with the previous client but he pretty much disappeared after he greeted me. Also there was some pretty weird music playing from inside the massage room that you could hear while in the waiting area as well as another kind of music playing in the waiting area. It ended up sounded like a weird fusion of songs. It was terribly distracting during the massage as it was not soothing but rather a little loud. I didn't want to be rude so I didn't say anything to the masseuse. Another weird thing to note is that they make you fill out an evaluation form right after the massage giving feedback on how the massage went and the atmosphere, which is pretty awkward because the masseur is standing right there as you fill it out so obviously you wouldn't want to give a bad review right there on the spot. I've also never had to fill out a feedback form after a massage, the whole thing was just strange. Nice guy and gave a decent massage but nothing that I would come back for, he didn't even focus on the areas I asked him to, he probably spent a few minutes on those areas at most. read more
