History
Established in 2013.
The vision for a mental health facility in Prosper began years ago. After serving the community since 1999, Dr. Marcey became a counselor in 2009 and tried to open a counseling center, but funding and zoning issues halted progress. In 2013, she started Prosper’s first solo mental health practice, which grew steadily. By 2018, efforts resumed for a new location, leading to the opening of Prosper Counseling, PLLC in April 2020 amid the COVID pandemic.
In 2022, rising demand prompted an expansion, adding three more counseling offices. Continued growth led to a third location in McKinney in 2025, offering additional services to adolescents, adults, couples, and families.
Today, Prosper Counseling employs 23 counselors, conducts over 1,000 monthly client appointments, and grows by more than 600 clients a year. The team covers a wide range of specialties and has over 110 years of combined experience, improving well-being throughout the community.
