The doctor needed to isolate the tooth in question, and he did. I felt a sense of confidence about him, which put me at ease. He offered solid advice and I was in and out in with very little waiting. For me, it boils down to trust. It was a positive experience and I wouldn't hesitate to go back if necessary.

They were very easy to get ahold of, and the receptionist genuinely sounded caring and explained the processes and expected costs of the procedure from the first call. I went to the Fayetteville location, and the staff was on time (doesn't always happen with medical offices) and got me right in the chair. I was feeling a bit nervous, and said so, and Dr. Maloff and his dental assistant were understanding of that. They offered me laughing gas if I needed it (and told me the cost! Which I liked!) but I ended up going without after talking with them. They explained their process - instruments/sharps would pass over me on the right so I should signal with my left hand hand, and they told me most everything that would be going in and on my mouth and what they would do. I asked them to talk a bit since that puts me more at ease, and they did, to the point that I was laughing at their conversations without laughing gas during a root canal! (It is a little weird to cackle with your mouth full of stuff though.) I didn't feel any pain during the process. After I was done I was given good instructions regarding the care of my tooth, and encouraged to contact them if I had any issues. There was a little tenderness in my cheek for a few days after but it was nothing compared to how the tooth felt beforehand. I really liked that the doctor, his assistant, and all of the staff, had a very easy rapport, and clear trust, where you could tell they had been together for some time. Regardless of which of their four locations they're working at, (Liverpool, Fayetteville, Auburn, and Watertown) the doctor and their specific assistant work together. I think the communication between the staff and their patients is a strength of Modern Endodontic Specialists, and while I was nervous going in I left feeling very relaxed, and informed. I was in…read morethere about a year ago for a tooth that the cavity fell out of and wanted a root canal to have a crown put on the tooth. He was all set to do the crown and upon further review he discovered that the tooth was split down through the root and the root canal would not be recommended because the tooth would have to be pulled anyway. So, good on him that he didn't just go ahead and perform the root canal anyway. I would use him again myself without any reservations.

I have known Pete over 20 years as a patient and a friend. Which is why it pains me so to write this review. I feel compelled to warn others regarding Pete Ceravolo and his declining ability. I have had at least four root canals with Pete and it is the experience regarding my last root canal which went horribly wrong. Pete is declining and must have early onset brain problems. He told me my visit would be completed in two visits (after the initial consult) and he "wrapped everything up in one" I asked him about the warning he gave me of the need for two visits and I even paid two visits worth of nitrous. The tooth was not sealed properly and when I returned to him in pain he told me to go see an oral surgeon. I asked him to show me where on the X-rays he said I had a problem and he could not even look at me while he proceeded to lie to my face. I used to hang out with Pete up on his 300 acre farm where he used to boast about his prowess in "Drilling, Filling and Billing!" I should have taken that as a warning sign and stopped using him. He is available at a moments notice which certainly does not speak much of the demand for his services. His office is always empty waiting for his next prey. The employee list on the wall is a decade old and the only thing Pete cares about is money. What a shame.

Okay- so I read so many poor reviews of this place but they are all ~10 years old so i wanted to…read moregive an updated review of the place because i love a local all woman's practice and i think they should get a second chance For clarification I ONLY received CLEANING services from this business, no other procedures so i cant speak to how they perform in that sense. I walked in right on time, they gave me service right away. I filled out a couple of forms pretty quick. I saw a lot of comments in insurance issues. I had previously checked with my insurance company to see my coverage which showed no problems but i asked the front desk attendant to double check that i am covered and she called right away with no complains or issues (or sass that i typically get by healthcare companies in syracuse) so i really appreciated that interaction The doctor then came in poked my teeth for a second and looked at the xrays and told me in my front tooth i need a root canal and crown. I asked to see why shes saying that and she was being weird. The x rays looked fine but km getting a second opinion- either way you dont do crowns on your front teeth so that didnt even make sense and also she was rushing me and like YOU NEED TO GET IT DONE ASAP NOW and i was like uh no and she was like well do you want to keep your front tooth? Dr Laura helped me when I was desperate to get a tooth extracted. After that, I trusted her to maintain my teeth, but what I ended up getting was more Issues, that were a direct result of her work. I came into her office in pain unable to eat, and I left her office still in pain, with no relief, no antibiotics, a charge, and a referral in hand. I'm not sure if she knew at that point she injured my tooth and did not want to admit to it, but the specialist she sent me to seemed to hint that the filling she did was the "root" of my problem.
