I have been a member of ProShots for approximately 2 years now. I very much love and support this business. It is my true belief that this business of operations is a gem to North Carolina and the local communities in which it serves. Recently I had family in from work and on vacation to celebrate my upcoming wedding. The staff is very welcoming to me and my clients on a regular basis. However, I wanted to make special mention to Paul who made me feel and look good for my family and clients who came in for me that night. My brother in-law who is with the Winston Salem PD and my other Brother who is with SF were able to enjoy the company of the family while being in a safe facility that offered excellent customer service. My job offered us to take this introductory gun safety class. I already have my conceal carry permit, but why not?! When you walk in, you will hear "you're being recorded " which was awkward. The first time I heard it, I missed what it said. The second time, I heard it clearly and it was a bit surprising. Nonetheless, no one can say they didn't know. Richard was the instructor during the 4hr course on a Saturday afternoon at 2pm. I enjoyed it and it was very informative. Richard gave a comedic twist, which definitely helped make time go by quicker. The best part was the gun rage at the end. It was a large class of 17. The range took a while. I did great for 10 shots total: 5 with a a revolver, which was my first time shooting one. The other 5 from a semi automatic pistol; I own one but haven't even practiced in at least a year and a half. While there, I did browse their available guns. I did end up buying a pack of 9mm bullets for $21. The female staff member who assisted me was very friendly, knowledgeable, and patient. I would definitely return! read more

Outrageous consignment fees , don't sell ur used guns here ether, 25% used to be 20% / 70% back on gun price if u buy something in house only 60% back if u want cash ... so if u have a gun priced for consignment at say 1800 they get $450 !! This place has a diverse clientele, which is great. Clean and organized, nice staff. BUT! Their range membership policy stinks. It's super easy to join and fair price, but they require you to cancel through one specific individual, who is only available M-F 9a-4p. I called once and went in person once, but since those attempts were on a weekend, they refused to help. Since anyone can take my personal and payment information, why must one specific person cancel? They should at least offer to internally facilitate membership cancellations on your behalf. Pro Shots is a great range and gun shop just north of Winston Salem. I recently took the concealed carry class with Wes Reese of Reese Firearms and he plugged them pretty hard, so I figured I would check it out last Sunday. I think they have 8 range lanes and they were full when we arrived with about 6 names on the wait list ahead of us. The process of signing up, signing the waivers, etc. was quick and painless. There's a range safety video playing on a loop by the range door, but there didn't seem to be any requirement to sit and watch it as I have experienced at other ranges. In short, don't be a dumb ass! You can buy eye pro and ear plugs on site, and you also purchase your targets, which are located inside the range, in advance (all targets are the same price). We overestimated six targets, only used four, and basically donated two to the cause. No worries. We took a look around the shop while waiting for the range and they do have a nice selection of weapons to rent and purchase. I'm kind of an H&K fanboy, and they only had two H&K pistols in stock (VP9SKs), but Pro Shots can and will order just about anything you want with quick lead times. Did I mention they have suppressors?! Boom. I mean, (boom). I'm an Army veteran and I know a lot about firearms, but I'm pretty far out of the loop when it comes to the latest and greatest and every little technical detail on the stuff behind the counter. Well, the guys on the other side of the counter at Pro Shots are all up in the loop! They're great to talk to and can give you those tech specs as well as a lot of their own personal experiences with a lot of the firearms there. In a non-condescending manner at that! I wish I could remember the name of the one gentleman we talked to for a while, but it was definitely a pleasure! We spent a little over an hour on the range when it was our time to shoot. All the other shooters on the range were professional and courteous, and most did a decent job of policing their brass. Just a warning that there didn't seem to be any air conditioning in the range area, and it was pretty hot in case that matters to any of you A/C commandos out there. We were pouring sweat when we came off, but there is vending on site and very clean restrooms where you can wash up. I haven't joined (yet), but Pro Shots has a monthly membership for $29 that gives you unlimited free range time. I think our day pass was $25/ea, so shooting twice per month justifies the membership. Other perks include 15% off ammunition and 20% off the sweet sounding tactical classes they teach. When was the last time anyone offered you 20% off learning how to be a badass? Never? That's what I thought. You can shoot anything at Pro Shots, within reason (leave your Mk 19 under your bed). We happily made the 30 minute trek from High Point to give Pro Shots a try, and will happily be doing it again. You should too! read more

Made for a pleasant experience. They have a WIDE selection of guns to rent to shoot & tons of goodies in the store. Extremely difficult process to cancel your range membership. I have gone to cancel my membership twice in person. Each time I have been told my membership can not be canceled unless one specific employee is there to handle the credit card information. This person is only there until 3 each weekday. Needless to say, this is not customer friendly. It seems like a breach of consumer rights to continue to charge my card when I have twice gone by personally and ask for it to be cancelled. This policy needs to be remedied. read more

I am relatively new to the firearm world. I decided to get my CCW first last year. Someone highly recommended ProSHOTS so I went. I had 2 sessions with Bob, one of the staff, who is very nice and knowledgeable.  I was pleased with our sessions and test firing a few models so I could see which one I was most comfortable with. Unfortunately,  the good experiences quickly soured after going back three times to order the model I wanted. After going there and then following up via phone since I didn't hear from them for a week or so, they told me that that model isn't available anymore but recommended another 'kit' that was a bit different.  I asked if I need to schedule a time to try the other model to see if that one would be alright and the man on the phone said it would be fine. I said that I would be there Thursday or Friday after work. He said that would be fine, but HE would not be there Friday, however, his counter-part would. I showed up yesterday afternoon and not only was he, nor his partner NOT there, but the three people I saw there had NO idea what was going on. In addition to that, they were unable to do anything to accommodate me even though this was my THIRD trip from about 1/2 hour away. Being yanked around like this is making me think about doing business with another company, ESPECIALLY with the prices involved. I might even consider cancelling being a member with them. read more

Pro Shots in a private indoor range where memberships are required. The membership comes with perks such as free range time and their rental fleet of handguns and rifles. They are very safety conscious and glasses and ear protection is mandatory. They furnish ear plugs but I highly recommend you wear something the completely covers your ears. Could not ask for more from a range. Friendly, experienced and helpful staff. A lot of inventory to choose from and I believe they are planning an expansion. Very family friendly and offers many classes for most ages. I recently took the tactical pistol class and loved every minute of it. Second time here and another good experience! It's a very clean and friendly range with a well stocked retail store also! They have a nice selection of rental guns, including rifles and even have suppressers (using there guns) available to rent. The staff is very friendly and willing to help with all your questions. They are a little pricey but have a lot of great options for using the range. I'm a member at Sportsman's lodge and love it (great prices and very close) but I enjoy coming here to shoot my AR and talk to the knowledge staff. I always make sure to browse there very competitive priced guns and ammo. read more

First some background, 28 years military, SWAT school, Advanced SWAT School, Small Arms instructor, Operation Snowcap, Trainer for all the Alphabet kids (DEA, FBI, ATF, etc) in military operations. And now just a tired old man who was trying to find a place INSIDE to shoot. Having been to ProShot MANY times I made a BIG mistake trying somewhere new and closer. Also this new place's website denoted a lower price than ProShots. So I tried it and below is what happened. KEEP IN MIND... the story below is NOT ProShots but an indoor range in Yadkin County closer to my home. I walked in yesterday to find a Gun Shop like so many others. Few staff but many, many "want-to-be" gun "pals" hanging out behind or close behind the counters. All looking down their noses at anyone that they didn't already know. I stood toward the back to watch for just a second and wait my turn in line. A young man in a white hat working there was behind the counter and working hard to take care of people. Doing a good job and cared about what he was doing. I noticed a family there that it appeared had all come out to shoot. Husband, wife, two boys and a girl, in ages maybe from 14-18. It looked as if they were just finishing up and the dad was paying. I noticed his bill was over $100.00. Hopefully that included bullets too, not just range time. Then the dad asked the young man in the hat if they had a Glock Gunsmith that worked there. being one myself I was interested in what was said to him. The young man never answered his question, but directed him to a man closer to my age. The older guy looked more like a malfi don than a gun guy. Big gold chain, sweater no shirt, and trying hard to be "pretty". After asking the dad what he need the dad was trying to explain an issue I had had seen in the past and knew it was an easy fix. The dad was trying to explain he got mis-feeds with his mags. The "Gun Expert" interrupted the dad repeatedly with things like, "If this Glock in having an issue it would be the first one in history, it may be you", and "It isn't the bullets it may be you". Now keep in mind I just watched this dad pay over $100.00 to what appears to be this guy's business and he is treating him like crap. I had seen in the past where mags have had their springs compressed for too long and it caused a feeding problem in the first 4 to 6 bullets depending on the mag size. This was never told to this dad. The guy then took dad into the range and "test fired" the Glock. Now keep in mind during this entire time I was just standing around with no one asking if they could help me and the "Gun Pals" all looking at this dad get talked to like he was a 12 year old with his first BB gun. The older guy never had the dad fire the weapon and afterward I found out from talking to the dad the gun store owner only shot five rounds from the bad mags. With a weak spring the most strength it is going to have is in the last 5 bullets. So as the family is leaving I walked out with them. I explained to the dad what the real issue was and assured him it wasn't him like the gun store don had said over and over. I told him where to go online and get a spring and that it was real easy to fix himself. So what have a learned from this? Drive another 20 minutes and go to Pro-Shots in Rural Hall ,NC where I have seen just the opposite of this type of behavior. This range was nice a few years ago when under better management, and the staff was much nicer. Not so much now. Most of the staff is rude and the prices are, well let's just say you can find guns and accessories (same brands) much cheaper elsewhere. We took our business to a much better place. read more

I see some positive reviews, but that was not my experience. I will never go to this business again, nor would I recommend my friends or family. I was treated very rudely by the staff. I have made several purchases but will drive the extra distance for better treatment somewhere else. All the "training background" in the world doesn't match kindness. My family members had equal training but didn't treat people with rudeness. I guess if you are a "member" then your treatment is different. I was just a "lowly" customer. I really didn't find them to have much of an inventory compared to the other places I have shopped. When I inquired about something I needed, I was told don't bother, no one can get it. Well someone did get it for me, at a reasonable price and without the arrogance. Good luck to others who want to be part of this business, but I will take mine elsewhere. read more
