Solid, reliable, timely and accurate. I use ProService for two offices. They process my payroll, manage my workers' compensation, health care benefits and provide my annual trainings for CPR and blood borne pathogens. They do all the administrative HR stuff for my business which frees up my time to focus on building my business. I'm not an HR expert and have no desire to be one, so I really rely on ProService to help me with issues when they arise. I frequently call on Donna (one of their HR experts) to discuss staff issues and how to approach and resolve them. They also provide management training which has been critical to the development of my up and coming leaders on staff. Skye and Kelly process my payroll and have helped me with some tricky end of year payroll items. They're always incredibly nice and most importantly, they're always accurate. Cathy manages my business accounts and she's always finding ways to help us save more money with health care and checks in with me regularly. Everyone is very responsive whenever I have a question and the same goes for my staff. I often direct my staff to contact ProService if they have health care or other questions and my staff always tell me that they're very helpful. This is a great HR service!!! Pro Service is supposed to be an HR company... but with my experience, all they seem to do well is payroll! Mind as well change their company name to Pro Payroll Service. I recently was wrongfully terminated back in November from a position and I was told that Pro Service could help me talk to the right people. WRONG. When I called, the person in the "termination" department or whatever was out of office, so I left a message with the person that took my call so that they could call me back... NOPE! No call back. When I called again later, they were unhelpful. They could not refer me to ANYONE to talk to about my employee rights!!! They had ZERO resources for me. All they said was that they would pass my concern onto my company... well, duh. But, don't you think they already know of my concerns?! I was did wrong, you're supposed to help me! Also, I got a phone call from the State of Hawaii HR saying that it was reported by Pro Service that I was fired for insubordination... NOT TRUE. For one, I wasn't even fired according to my company, I was "let go." Two, I definitely was not insubordinate! I even called my company to VERIFY that that was not true and was told that it was Pro Service that spoke with the State HR office. When I called Pro Service yet AGAIN, they just said "well, that was what was reported to us by your company." They obviously don't stay on the same page as their clients! My concern is that now somewhere in a record, it is stated that I was fired for insubordination, which is NOT TRUE... they didn't even try to fix it! Pro Service needs better training on how to handle situations when shit hits the fan. I ended up successfully on unemployment benefits, but no thanks to any help from Pro Service. They are the fastest payroll service I've ever encountered. My calls and queries to both their Hawaii Kai office and downtown office regarding my pay and taxes and health insurance are taken very seriously and quickly. All staff are super friendly, prompt and professional. I've never been put on hold for more than a few seconds before an HR/Benefits or other staff takes my call and gets me to answers I needed about deductions or taxes, etc. read more

I've dealt with other outsourced HR companies on the island and ProService was the worst out of them. They don't respond to emails through their website. Everytime our work has tried to fax paperwork they never seem to get them. I would recommend looking at the other reviews that were not approved to get the full scope of how well they are. 6 months to get a claim paid. They keep losing the paperwork or let it sit for months and then when I ask about the status they either not call me back or say they received the claim on the same day I asked the status. I have no idea who I'm supposed to talk to as the claims adjuster keeps changing, I don't know what office is handling these claims. One of the most frustrating experiences I've had trying to get paid. If something doesn't happen soon I will have to file a case in small claims court. read more

Very spacious & clean office they have. My fiancé came here to sign papers for a job he just got and I was very surprised how friendly and cheerful everyone was. Their office is extremely cold from their AC and the entire place was decked out with Halloween decorations. I love when jobs can have fun and get festive! Their comfy chairs also have a sliding desk connected to it so it's easy for people to sign papers. We received great service here as well, definitely looking forward to coming back here next time. read more

Having dealt with many of the HR firms in Hawaii including HIHR, Spherion, Westaff and Altres, I must say this is the most unprofessional of the lot. The girls who came to do the orientation wasted a 2 hour meeting full of staff members and got nothing accomplished. They did not even know how to fill out the most basic employment forms. I took a 2 week LoA to have a breast biopsy and when I wanted to return to my job, I was told I was no longer needed. When I had concerns with my termination I got the run-around with no one returning calls and the only polite person being the girl who answers the phone. She seemed to genuinely care. After leaving countless messages for my contact person I actually drove all the way to Hawaii Kai to get answers - I was told the person who oversaw my case was not in - a bold faced lie. I said I would wait - I was told I would get a call - which never came. I applied for unemployment. Pro-Service lied and told unemployment I quit. Thankfully I had emails backing my story. Stay far far away from this shady company - There are many more HR firms to choose from. read more

Terrible service and over priced. Payroll and HR are hard business to run. Clients expect complete accuracy due to financial and legal liability. I have yet to find a great payroll service that offer accuracy and great customer service. Pro Service is not sufficiently staffed to handle work load and therefore some staff are extremely inexperienced. It was a waste of time. read more

These guys bought HiHR and are forcing us to switch to them. We didn't even get a notice, I had to read about this in the PBN. I think there are ways to handle this kind of thing in Hawaii and that's with aloha and respect. Instead it feels very "mainland" in how they are handling their business. I don't mean disrespect to people on the mainland, but here in Hawaii we treat customers like family. At least that's how it used to be. I talked to the people who are handling the transition and it sounds like everyone, even the employees are going through the same shock. Doesn't feel like anyone knows what is going on. I was with Proservice before and they might be the biggest, but it showed. No service, no personal attention. I guess its because we are a small business. I recently took an OSHA 30-Hour training class that was conducted by Jason Collins of Pro Service. I've taken many training classes covering many different subjects but this was the most engaging class I've ever had the pleasure of taking. The class was held over a 4 day period so you would think it would be boring and tiring towards the end but Jason kept it lively and fun. He provided a ton of personal experiences that made it interesting, not to mention he is a walking encyclopedia and provides a lot of interesting and fun facts along the way. Being a client of Pro Service he also brought up many other services that they can provide a no extra charge. Good Job Pro Service and Jason! read more

Three huge red flags happened that made me realize they could care less about the actual employees and that their own employees are clueless. First was when I arrived, there was no one at the reception desk at 9:05AM (they open at 8:00). So I pressed the bell for assistance four times (about 2-3 minutes between each press). It wasn't until a guy comes in with all of his stuff at around 9:05 that I was actually greeted by any of the employees in the office, even though there were plenty milling around and staring at me standing at the reception desk. Second was that I asked for more information on the health insurance coverage they offered for the different plans. They gave me a binder, but the binder didn't have any of the Vision or Dental plan info. I asked two different people, and they had NO IDEA what I was asking about. This is BASIC HR INFO. I told them it would be nice to see what is included in the Vision and Dental services, not just the basic medical coverage, but they just said they don't have that info. Then I asked them if it was available online, and their answer (verbatim) was, "I think so...not sure." YOU WORK FOR A HUMAN RESOURCES COMPANY. I was an office manager and I answered this question every single time a new employee signed up, and two separate people at a company whose sole purpose is to provide Human Resources support doesn't know? I also asked when my health insurance would kick in. Agent gave me the standard "You have to work 4 consecutive weeks over 20 hours a week before you can be eligible", which I already knew, but I know a lot of people don't. So I was more detailed and asked, "So if I start beginning of September, say the 5th, does that mean I can get coverage starting October 1st?" The agent's answer? "Um, I think so, not sure..." AGAIN, YOU WORK FOR A HUMAN RESOURCES COMPANY. THIS IS BASIC INFO YOU SHOULD KNOW. Lastly, I asked for the guy to copy a list of locations for the drug testing company that I can possibly go to, and he said he can't, but he can write down the address. So I ask for that, and he DOESN'T WRITE DOWN THE SUITE NUMBER. Just basic crap like this bugs the hell out of me since I used to do HR functions for my previous employer. What the hell kind of people are they hiring over at Proservice, and what are they even teaching them? I can't even with this company now. They also warn you that it takes up to 30 days for direct deposit to be set up and that you will get paper checks until it kicks in. I have never, in my life, heard that from any company's HR department. NEVER. It's basically a matter of entering the banking info in your accounting system, and the bank essentially does the rest, and it should be good to go starting with your VERY FIRST PAYCHECK. The only reasons I can think of that it would take this long is if there's only one person who knows how to do this crap and they work part time, or the person who is responsible for entering this info into the system is slow as hell and sucks at his/her job. I'm DREADING having to deal with this company after just this FIRST experience signing up with them just to start with my new employer. I can already tell that nothing good will come out of dealing with them in any way... read more

Pua in payroll sounds nice over the phone but was completely unable to answer my questions or refer me to someone who could. She asked that I call beck in a day or two. When I called back she was busy and couldn't answer so I was asked to leave a message. Left message for a Pua in payroll services a week ago and never got a call back. read more

I have used ProService over the past 3 years. They have been nothing short of professional. As our company grew to over 250 employees, they were always there to support us. We challenged ProService with some daunting tasks and they stepped up to exceed our expectations every time. One of the most interesting things about the company is their work place culture. Each employee that I've dealt with was compassionate and has integrity to do what is best for the client. It seems like every employee understands the importance of what they do as it shows in their performance. My husband's company used ProService for their HR needs and I had the worst experience with them. I had asked to re-do his W-2 so that he could change what he claimed so that we wouldn't have to pay every year for our taxes. They gave me the paper work and I filled it out and returned it. A whole year goes by and it's tax time. When my tax preparer goes over his W-4 she says that we owe $5000! Come to find out ProService entered his information wrong into the computer and it was never caught. I called them about it and they admitted fault but never apologized. They said that I should have caught the error in his pay stub. That doesn't make sense to me! They are hired to handle the payroll, they should have caught the error. I don't feel that it's my place to do their job for them. It was such a bad situation, they were very rude to me about the whole thing and didn't even offer any kind of help or sympathy, on top of that I was 9 months pregnant at the time and was not prepared to have to pay $5000 to the IRS with a baby due any day. Needless to say my husband's company no longer uses their services and I would highly recommend no one else use them either. read more

These people are ridiculous ! I've been waiting for my last pay check from my previous employer for over a week now. Pay day was Feb 5, so I called Monday Feb 8 to find out how I will be receiving my check or if I need to pick it up. They claimed that they mailed it and I should be receiving it soon, they did verify my address. So I wait till about Friday Feb 12 and still no check in the mail. So I call again and whom I spoke said I should've received it by now and someone will return my call...Well today is Monday Feb 15 (holiday-so they prob are close) no paycheck and no return phone call. I would've been better off just picking up my pay check myself. Thank God my new employers are not using this company read more

The company I work for isn't a Pro Service client yet, and I hope that we become one soon! My review is on the OSHA 30 class that was taught by Jason Collins. The classes where held at the BIA building in Waipahu and we had a group of 17 (including me). We had 4 days of classes and let me tell you, it was not boring. Going in, for me I didn't know many things about OSHA or anything related, so it was very educational. I noticed that people working in the "field" even discovered some new knowledge for themselves. Jason, explained everything to a level, where even I could understand (being not familiar with OSHA beforehand). He made the classes interesting with power points, videos and his lectures were not boring at all. Honestly his lectures are on my top 3 for least boring. If you are thinking of taking the osha class, do it! Not sure if you can request a specific lecturer, but if you can go with Jason. At the end of the class I went home with a binder that he printed out to help guide us through OSHA requirements, my notes which were very informative, and he also gave us the whole PowerPoint which is around 30 topics. Jason made sure that each of us understood every topic that he presented. And tomorrow I am going to work with a whole bunch of information. And this is information that I will be using asap. Very recommended. I'm very happy and I feel educated in topics that I didn't even realize existed before taking the class. Jason's knowledge of the topics was beyond what I expected, he answered every question that we had. Great stuff, go finish your OSHA 30, and don't get fined. Aloha read more

Don't fall into the BS. I work for a moving company and our checks go through Pro Service. We are supposed to get our checks every Monday but yet they are constantly late. We would have to wait til Tuesday or sometimes even Wednesday. How can you call yourselves "Pro" service when that's not the service you are providing. Frankly I'm getting fed up with this. I live paycheck to paycheck and it is vital I get my pay on time when I'm SUPPOSED!!! to get it. So just a heads up to you business owners out there. Do not use this company!!!
