Sam literally saved Thanksgiving! It took a few trips to make the repairs since we had to diagnose the issues and then make some repairs, but everything was back up and running in time for me to host Thanksgiving. The top of my Bosch double oven is what they call a "Speed Oven" (Combo microwave/oven) and it had died after an unfortunate major incident involving exploding butter and the subsequent attempts to clean it out. Would have been several thousands of dollars just to buy a new unit without labor, but Sam was able to diagnose the problems (there were multiple) and was able to get everything back up and running for well under a thousand (including the cost of parts). He was also able to quickly diagnose a problem with my drink fridge and I was able to easily order parts and fix that on my own. Sam was always very professional, took great care not to damage other things while moving around big heavy equipment, and was always wearing protective gear (of crucial importance during this pandemic). Great guy, and great service. I will definitely use him again. The bearings went out in my LG TROMM front load washer. I thought I could fix it myself, but no way could I get those old bearings out. Another highly reputed on Yelp service company said they wouldn't touch it, but they suggested Sam at ProSam. I had spent four hours on it, with no success. Sam spent 10 minutes on it, and had the old bearings out and the new ones installed. He then proceeded to reassemble the washing machine even though I was the guy who took it apart. "Please be VERY CAREFUL l when choosing Sam. He comes across as a very nice man, and I was hoping he was, but again please be very careful. He came to repair my Kitchen Aid Refrigerator that was running was cool, but not cold. The freezer was at 10 below zero and the fridge at 68 degrees. Sam looked over both sides and told me to get him a blow dryer. He took out a black looking sponge from the freezer side and told me it was frozen solid so it was blocking the freezing air from the freezer to the fridge side which was the problem of the cool fridge. Sounded good to me. What do I know. He blew dry the sponge with my hair dryer and put it back. He looked at another appliance, my Viking stove, for about 4 minutes and told me it the coils were not heating properly. He charged me $225 which I Venmoed to him to his personal account. He said it would take a day or so for the fridge to readjust and then should be working properly. If it did not, it would be a Motherboard problem (the brain of the computer) and he really hoped it would not be because that would be very expensive. The fridge did not improve so I let him know this. Immediately he came up with a $1114.96 quote for the motherboard. I thought ok, that cheaper than buying a new fridge and Sam seemed honest, ok, I guess I need a new Motherboard. He got the part in quite fast and and came to my house and removed my original motherboard and put it into a box. He replaced it with one he brought. He told me this should fix the problem and to NOT PAY him until I was sure it worked. I originally thought, what a very honest, nice man. He then shook the box that he had put my original Kitchen Aid motherboard into and told me he would make a good $175 off of it and walked out the door taking my product. ??? He told me to let him know the next day or so when it would adjust. Now my fridge was not cooling at all. It was warm and making a strange sound. I contacted Sam to tell him he needed to bring back my motherboard that this was NOT WORKING AT ALL- WORSE!!!!! He said ok, he would call me, he was out of town. He said it was probably a sealant problem and that he doesn't do sealant problems. (WHY DIDNT HE TELL ME THIS FROM THE START) I said I called kitchen aid and they had a certified techinician to send to me. He told me to call them. In the mean time, no calls from Sam, while I had my Fridge repaired by another certified company. They told me that the blow drying of the sponge was a scam and the $1114 for a Motherboard was a RIP OFF!!!! He also told me once they take out the motherboard, it will not work the same. He said that ALL MY FRIDGE NEEDED WAS TO BE CLEANED UP THAT SOME PEES WERE STUCK and needed to be cleaned out. Next I had eye surgery and was out for about 10 days. During these days, Sam returned and came by my house and harassed and terrified my 15 year old daughter that I was not answering his calls and embarrassed her in front of her friends. HE THEN FILED A LAWSUIT AGAINST ME. I answered via text and told him that I had had surgery and he texted me I should of called him from the hospital. That's where we are. I would of been happy to get back my motherboard and give his broken one back to him. Please beware of this person or you will be wasting much time and getting a lawyer. read more

Sam was great. We had a pretty brutal clog in our washing machine. He came over and figured out exactly where the clog was, and advised me how to fix it for a very fair diagnostic fee. The next day we had another problem from a complication of removing the clog and he came out for a follow up free of charge to get everything up and running. By email, he asked me a couple of questions and then pre-ordered the part he thought he might need so he would be prepared when he got here. I contacted ProSam to fix my clothes dryer. In sum, I have not had a repair professional be so disrespectful of my time in my life. During our initial conversation, he indicated he could come the next afternoon and would text me later in the evening with an appointment time. He did not. I texted him the day the appointment was to happen and he said he would come to my house at 4:00 PM. After rushing home early from work, Sam did not arrive until 4:45. He did not message to say he was running late, nor did he apologize for his lateness. He decided a part was needed and he'd need to return another day. He wanted an $85 service call fee that would be applied to the balance (quote provided) of the repair in cash. He claimed his credit card "machine" was broken. He indicated that he would not be able to accept credit when he returned to install the part later in the week either. When I made the appointment with him, he made no mention of not being able to accept credit- in fact his yelp review indicates he accepts credit and his website does not indicate otherwise. If he had informed me of his current cash only policy, I would have looked for a different repair company. At that point, however, I felt trapped into using his services. We decided on the day he would return and he indicated he would text to confirm as he did not know if the part would arrive on time. Again, on the day of the appointment, I had not heard from Sam to confirm as promised, so I texted him and another 4 PM appointment was set. I again left work early to meet him. At 4:55 PM, I receive a text from him saying he was working at a different appointment and would come when he was done. When I asked for a new arrival time, 6:15 PM. What this meant to me is that he knew by 4, if not before, that he would not be on time for my appointment and chose not to contact me until he was nearly an hour late, only to be over 2 hours late in the end. If he'd promptly contacted me, there would not have been a need for me to leave work early for the second time that week. He did finally arrive around 6:15 PM. It took him 15 minutes to replace the part. The only reason I am giving him 2 stars over 1 is that the dryer appears to work. He wrote an invoice for the work and the total amount was higher than the quote he gave me during the first visit. I pointed this out to him and he said that was the correct amount and that he'd "written it down in his book." I pointed out that he had not provided me with anything in writing during the previous appointment. I wrote him a check for the higher amount to get the ordeal over with and him out of my house. If you are looking for a repairman who accepts credit, provides accurate estimates and respects your time, do not use ProSam. read more

I have a contract with Allied Home Warranty. I called them yesterday because I woke up to a refrigerator full of rotten Thanksgiving leftovers. Allied informed me that, unfortunately, my refrigerator wasn't covered by my warranty, but asked me if I wanted them to set up the service call anyway. As I'd been very pleased with everyone they'd sent so far, I said yes. I was told that Prosam would contact me within four hours. Four hours goes by. Nothing. So I called Prosam. Yes, they had me on their list, but no, they wouldn't be able to come out that day. So I said, "Thanks, but no thanks. I'll find someone else." Prosam then told me they would juggle their schedule to squeeze me in. I waited all day. No one came. No one called. I understand a company being busy. I really do. He was prompt, professional, and did good work, but I can't recommend him because he's not at all transparent about prices. When I asked him what his labor fee was, he replied that he "charges based on the job." The customer knows only that his visit fee is $75. When he came up with the total, which was almost 3 times the visit fee, I had no idea how he arrived at it (the replacement part costs $30 online) and the actual repair took 15 minutes.
