One would think I would be considered a valuable repeat customer. Not the case. On July 2nd, I rented a riding mover for 4 hours. Per their requirements, I totally hosed down the equipment before I returned it. During the 10 minute drive back to their location, the water on the mower deck dried, and looked rainwater dirty. The employee (I think its the owners son) accused me of not cleaning off the tractor, and said he was charging me $35 for not cleaning the machine. We had words. He was extremely rude from the moment I arrived until I departed. I went into the office and spoke to whom I believe is the wife of the owner. She was polite and said she would check me back in, I assumed with no additional charge. Wrong again, as I just saw a charge on my CC for an additional $35, for what would have taken 4 squirts of 409, and a paper towel. While I had seen many negative reviews directed towards this business in the past, I have always had a positive experience. It just takes one person, and a management that would support it by allowing the additional charge to change all that. While I've probably brought $2,000 worth of rentals over the past three summers, I won't be back, and I suggest you stay away as well.

I picked up the chairs the next day. It was a little more than $5 to rent two chairs for three days. They had another guy bring them out to my car for me. The chairs were sturdy and not terribly uncomfortable. Returning the chairs was just as quick and easy as getting them. Will be back if I need to rent some chairs or other items that they carry. The worst part was that they lied to me and told me that my contract said that I couldn't pick things up until noon. Nowhere on the contract did it say that. In fact the hours were prominently stated in more than one spot as 7:30 AM - 5 PM. I checked the website too and did not find that statement anywhere. If you are going to stick me for a $24 charge at least don't lie about it and blame me for the problem. You could admit your mistake and just tell me tough luck on the charge. What a terrible way to run a business!

I had read so many terrible reviews for U-Haul or Budget, I was completely stressed out and having nightmares the U-Haul I rented wasn't available when I went to get it. So my husband found this local place, and I'm so glad! We got a decent sized trailer for 100 bucks for the weekend (50/day). They are closed on Sundays, so they don't charge for that day. They quickly hooked it up to my hitch and disconnected it when I got back. Watching these guys on the phone and with customers, it's clear they do a ton of business, and they know exactly what they're doing at this point. They even waived their late fee for me, as I overslept and brought it back 2 hours late on Monday. They don't just rent trailers either, they have pretty much everything under the sun, including party tents and equipment. I even saw slushy machines and popcorn makers. I highly recommend Columbia Heights rental!
