Their staff was always competent, professional, courteous, prompt and friendly in responding, so I was very pleased to work in a building that was so exceptionally well managed. I have never met any other property managers that were so caring and so hands on with the building and very attentive to the tenants needs. David Steinberg the CEO/Founder of Synoptic was very involved made himself available during the reconstruction phase that the building was undergoing which can be exhausting to any tenant. He would stopped in for random checks to make sure all was moving smoothly which is very noble of him. I unfortunately as I was undergoing heart surgery and reassured job security in a non union building even though I would be out for at least a month. David with incredible generosity during my hospitalization contacted my wife to get an update hours after my surgery. Not the managers or his assistant but the president of the company. Now I am a big believer that a company is as good as its CEO. Although I have not worked for Synoptic for a year now I highly recommend this company for those looking for work and for tenants that may have any doubts considering the harsh reviews. My experience has made me very fortunate to have witnessed an impeccable organization strive to make their employees and tenants happy.

No matter the issue, no matter the time of day. What a welcome change from other management companies we had in New York in which we were lucky to even hear back from them after a week of contacting them. (Often we had to simply handle repairs or issues ourselves because it was just easier than dealing with our management who just weren't interested.) Palladium's service and care feels downright miraculous in comparison. I can only hope our next management company is this good...

Upon the need to relocate back to NYC, my wife and I decided we wanted to keep our current home,…read moreand try our hand as landlords. With both my wife and I having very demanding schedules we decided to solicit the services of a property manager to handle the "landlord duties" for us. I interviewed literally (I repeat "literally") every property management firm in the tri state area. I work in the insurance field and know 1st hand how a property manager can make or break your dreams of being a landlord. I'm quite the picky individual, and frankly a very demanding person, especially when I'm the customer. Among every property management firm I met and vetted, only 1 stood out as competent, responsive and knowledgeable; and that's Abacus Avenue. My strong knowledge of property insurance gave me a real upper hand in vetting out the other wannabe property managers. Honestly folks, don't waste your time with calling anyone else. This demanding perfectionist here has done all that work for you. In the year that I've been in business with Abacus Avenue, I have nothing but positive feedback, and that's not something I say often. Knowledgeable, professional, forthcoming and attentive are words that sum up Abacus avenue. The full service they provide is second to none, from finding us a tenant, to vetting the tenant, to drafting a very comprehensive and protective lease and finally placing the tenant was a pleasure. The best part (for me personally) is that I never hear from them - they take care of everything for me and I'm confident that my property and my personal interests are in very good hands. My wife and I are looking for a second investment home, and their is no doubt in my mind that Abacus will be managing that property as well. Thanks Abacus Avenue - looking forward to our continued and growing relationship.

Was looking for an apartment to rent, stumbled onto one with this agency…read more When I toured the apartment, the realtor assured me it would be fixed up after I signed the lease. Do not fall for these tricks; only the barest of the minimums will be done. It was extremely dirty, there were buckets of paint still left over. Turns out they were in the middle of their "cleaning". I ended up needing to move in 4 days into my lease. Not great. Afterwards, I noticed a ton of issues. Black mold on vents, dripping faucets, broken window screens... the repair-workers evidently didn't give it a good pass. They take a while to respond to requests and issues (usually a 2-3 week lead time, sometimes over a month), and there's a good amount of them. Their phone number isn't very receptive, and their lease agreement is extremely limiting. I strongly encourage you to read it in depth; a lot of renter rights are signed away. I would not recommend living in a building owned by this agency. The one star is for the fact that the apartment was quite cheap.

We've had our fair share of the standard New York issues that affect a lot of apartments (water leaks, broken HVAC, etc) and Peter and Chris had their team fix everything promptly and professionally. When we renegotiated our lease terms, they were reasonable and came through on all of their promises to us. We would have stayed in our apartment forever if we could, but unfortunately we outgrew our space. Peter was flexible with our lease termination, didn't give us a hard time with minute details, and promptly returned our security deposit within a couple of weeks after our move. I would highly recommend them as a management company to any landlord who wants their properties to be managed efficiently and professionally, and to any tenant who is looking to rent in one of their properties. It's difficult to find such great property management companies in New York City, and this opinion is coming from someone who also works in the real estate industry.
