My mother purchased a riding lawnmower from this store which I assisted in delivering to her…read more After traveling over 50 miles on a Sunday to pick-up and deliver this mower, the left rear tire blew out after only driving it about 15 feet. The bead on the rim didn't release, it was a valve-stem separation from the tube that caused the tire to go flat. I drove the tire back to the store to exchange the tire for another tire off a similar mower on their lot so I could get mowing and they would be responsible for repairing this defective tire on their dime. Not only would Hoffman Drug/True Value not allow a tire exchange to occur, they didn't even have the courtesy to offer to pay for the replacement tube. The lady running the store that weekend was curt, abrasive and seemingly oblivious to customer service principles; although, she did indicate this position came straight from the store owner which speaks volumes about how this store is run. Side note: I called the Ace Hardware store across town and told them what I needed and received immediate assistance on finding a tube and getting this tire repaired. Truly a tale of two stores and two different customer service philosophies. Since my mother purchased this item, it was her call whether to return it and cancel the sale - she opted to keep it. Personally, after that experience, I would have dropped that thing off in the parking lot, called my credit card company to stop payment on the charge and never set foot in that disgusting place the rest of my life. I was sitting in my car and looking at the hours posted on the door when I noticed a sign announcing in a really snotty tone that they're required by "our LOVELY government" (I believe that was the wording) to ask you to wear a mask. It continued: with wording indicating that if you can't wear a mask because of medical reasons, our "LOVELY government" prohibits us from asking about your health, so we'll just assume that either you can't wear a mask, or you want to exercise your freedom by shopping at a store with like-minded people. I didn't even get out of my car. I called later to tell them that they lost business because of their sign. The man say, "Okay," and hung up on me. THIS is why we keep ordering stuff from Amazon. As of today, 548,000 Americans have died of COVID. Please wear a mask. Please avoid stores that politicize basic science. These people should be ashamed of themselves.

He pointed me to sink washers, which was not want I wanted since I needed a part for a gate style shut off, not a sink valve so had anyone bothered coming with me, he would have maybe figured out what I was looking for To give a positive call out, the ladies at the register are friendly and helpful. The prices may be a tad higher than a big box store in "the springs," but by the time you drive down there and find someone to assist, you'll save yourself time and gas, therefore money. This is a superb local establishment. So lucky to have them here.

Glue had been previously frozen and had coagulated, so I drove it all the way back to get a different bottle. I showed defective merchandise to large man working there and he said: "That's the second one to come back." I asked if I may get another bottle and he said "Ya." I saw there was no other bottle but two smaller bottles of another brand and took them to the large man and asked if I may swap straight across since I had been so inconvenienced. He replied: "OH NO, YOU CAN'T DO THAT." I then decided that I would rather dive to Kelso than give this poorly run store my business and got a refund and left. If coagulated glue was a know issue, why didn't the store check the other bottles so that their future customers wouldn't be inconvenienced? Why was there any kind of "I'm sorry this happened etc.?" I've been going to this store since 1963 and it is now my store of last resort. Do yourself a favor and drive on down the road to Kelso to the Wilco store. It is serviced by farm and ranch folks who are friendly and courteous.
