I was immediately apart of the Symetria Family. I wasn't referred to by a number. I was always referred to by name, welcomed with open arms, given respect, and most importantly, they believed in me. I was always honest with them and they knew it. The staff really made me feel like I was important to them. I have been recommending Symetria Recovery to anyone and everyone that will listen. Unethical and Fraudulent Billing Practice - Dr. Dranetz's Office…read more On May 12, I had my first visit with Dr. Dranetz. At checkout, I was informed by Lee Ann that the charge for the visit was $310. I was surprised, as I have Cigna PPO insurance and Dr. Dranetz is listed as an in-network provider. Lee Ann explained that I needed to "meet my deductible," which was confusing--deductibles are part of my insurance plan and not determined by the provider. On May 15, I received an Explanation of Benefits (EOB) from Cigna showing the negotiated rate was $157. I immediately called the office and spoke with Lee Ann, who said she would look into it. I did not hear back, so I followed up on May 27. She then said she was waiting to hear from Cigna. By June 1, I still had no update. I had an appointment scheduled for June 2, but chose not to attend due to the unresolved billing issue. I called again on June 6, and was told they would refund my money--but would deduct a "no-show" fee. I contacted Cigna, and their representative called Lee Ann directly. I was told the issue was resolved and I would receive a refund. However, I was only refunded $53. To be clear: if a doctor knowingly bills you (or your insurance company) for more than the agreed-upon negotiated rate with your insurance company, it can be considered insurance fraud--specifically a type of billing fraud. I do not know whether this practice is directed by Dr. Dranetz or is a decision made solely by Lee Ann, but either way, it is unethical and potentially illegal. Patients deserve transparency and fairness--especially when dealing with in-network providers and insurance billing.

If I hadn't made an appointment this wait would be understandable, but again I did make an appointment and the wait is just too long. Need less to say. Don't expect to get help quickly. Today, I live with gratitude, dropped my attitude and realized my ego is not my amigo! I showed up mentally/spiritually drained, I needed a change. My life had become unmanageable, and 'my way' simply wasn't working for me anymore. I remember thinking of, Brooks from "Shawshank Redemption" writing "get by busy living or get busy dying." My new journey started on 7/1/2020. I remember being scared, not sure if I should trust strangers, opening up Dr.s and counselors, group therapy. I was skeptical; however, I was told to "trust the process" and "take it one day at a time." Immediately, I felt at home and surrounded with love, aww struck by the sheer beauty of the ranch, houses, amenities and staff. This was my first trip to a Recovery Center. In fact; a few of the residents mentioned this is the nicest facility they've been to (one of them had been to 10 facilities across the nation). The counselors and therapy session helped me unload years of baggage I've been carrying. Bags of guilt, shame, remorse, anger, and confusion weighed me down to the point where I needed Xanax, Sleep aids, alcohol, marijuana, just to function/survive. I realized the only way this is going to work, is if I'm 110% honest and real with myself; otherwise, this would be a waste of time. Plus the Dr.s and counselors could read through any bullshit one tried to get past them. This is what I needed. To get real!! To listen for once and stop getting in the way of myself! Everyday at the Orchard was a learning experience, the group sessions flowed with ease, sometimes emotional but that's where our group came together, empathized, loved, supported, or related to the topic on hand. The staff is amazing, stellar Doctors, greatest technicians, sweetest nurses, speakers, and great chefs who provide a wide variety of excellent food, juices, and a salad bar that competes with Jason's Deli! In fact; the meatloaf, it's so good you'll want it again tomorrow. The property itself is breathtaking. The houses are all completely remodeled with comfortable beds/rooms! Great AC, hardwood floors, beautiful furniture, a real southern rustic touch of Texas. Today, I live a righteous life. I'm so blessed to be alive, I live with gratitude and a new appreciation for life. For the first time in 20 years I'm living with inner peace. I'm helping others. I'm discovery myself and purpose daily!! If there's one thing I regret... it's that I didn't stay longer!! Trust the process, take it one day at a time!! When I got to the office the receptionist told me she did not think my insurance would be good but she would check. After 45 minutes, I asked how much longer before I saw the doctor. She said there still was no response about the insurance. I did not get to see Dr. Balasubramanian. If the insurance was not accepted, why not call me before I made a trip to the office. I guess I am back to a new doctor at Genesis Medical Group. BTW...I have used this insurance with hospitals, surgeons, heart specialists and other doctors all around Houston with no issues.
