Medawar Jewelers - The squiggle as a result of Medawar resizing my ring.

I called and Kim was very personable and said I did not need an appointment. I arrived and was greeted by Kim and Roger. Roger not only provided and put in a battery he gave me a deal that was unexpected. Kim and Roger even listened to my jokes and stories for 20 minutes after the fact. I think Roger needs to open a store in LOS ANGELES. Thank you. Much appreciated. -Craig

I would never ever recommend this place. I went in to have…read moremy silver ring sized down. I got it back and wore it for nearly a week. I took it back again to be sized down another half size, which was done free of charge. Upon getting the ring back, I noticed it looked a little off. I showed it to another jeweler, who is making a nesting wedding band to fit this ring, and they were appalled. The band has been stretched incredibly, dangerously thin. The back is wonky and uneven, making a sort of squiggle. I posted a negative review, and Medawar called me, trying to gaslight me into believing that this was the way the ring was supposed to be. He said he never saw the ring leave, blaming others in the store, and that the ultra thinness was part of their process. I told him that if his process is damaging customers jewelry, that it needs to be reevaluated. I was rightfully given my money back, but I now have to have this ring repaired, which will cost more than twice as much, because of Medawar's negligence. It breaks my heart. I would never ever recommend this place.

Abracadabra Jewelry - Custom engagement ring by Abra

I recently purchased an engagement ring from Abracadabra and had a wonderful experience! I had an…read moreheirloom stone that belonged to my great-grandmother that I wanted to have as the centerpiece of the ring. I had been to a few other jewelers in A2, but the Abra crew were the only ones who didn't try to shame me into buying a newer, larger stone! I was nervous about the full custom design process, as all I had were some examples of details I thought would look nice and some vague memories of what my now-fiancée showed me on Pinterest. However, Amanda was wonderful to work with on the design and did a very good job at turning my ideas into a detailed sketch. Natalie did an equally amazing job at manufacturing the actual ring--the final product turned out beautifully and showcases my Gigi's stone perfectly. Neither my fiancée nor I can resist staring at the ring for long periods of time :) They also were more than willing to make sure that the ring was kept a secret! They were very competitive on price. Even with the fully custom design, we were able to make design changes within my budget. Better still, they only use conflict-free stones when buying new and they have hypoallergenic alloys available. Even if my fiancée and I move away from the A2 area, we will be back to get a matching wedding band when the time arises. Highly, highly recommend.

Hard to see how this place got a good review. Rude and overpriced…read more There are a TON of great jewelers and jewelry stores out there. Don't waste your time w people like this.

To their credit, the business was friendly, upfront and honest throughout the entire encounter…read more I'm writing this more as a heads up to people who, similar to me, are not at all experienced in selling gold or silver. I was able to watch the gentleman who helped me weigh what I brought in, he showed me the entire calculation of what they were offering, including the rates. This was refreshing as some other store hid their scales and were shady about the numbers they relayed to me. My one recommendation coming out of this is to get multiple offers for what you are selling. I'm not naming names of any competitors or anything like that in this review, you have to do your own due dillegence and drive around a bit when you sell. I'm sure there are many other factors including recent purchases, refiner's cuts, etc. for each store to consider when they make an offer. I will say that for silver, at the time of my visit, this store was not offering a competitive rate compared to every other store that I visited. This may change from time to time due to the factors I listed above (and others), but at the time of my visit, it simply was not close to market rate. I will still give the store a 5 star rating, particularly for their honesty. I'm putting it out there yet again for inexperienced sellers who are going through an estate similar to myself, take the time to GET MULTIPLE OFFERS from different stores. The final price I sold my items for was significantly higher than what I was offered here. Having said all of that, I would not hesitate to return to this store in the future. The most professional and nicest people I met on my journey to sell.
