My goal for the summer is to learn medically oriented Spanish from scratch…read more I called 3 schools to find out more about one-on-one tutoring and Spanish Blackbelt was the first school to call me back. The more I spoke with the gentlemen about my options and what to expect, the more I knew this was going to be the best fit for me. Starting from scratch was intimidating, but from the first day, my tutor Marilyn assured me that she could help me and that I was in good hands. As the sessions went on, I gained confidence and greatly appreciated that she never made me feel bad for asking what I thought might be a stupid question. She related my situation to her experience learning English and encouraged me to ask any question I was wondering about. I originally signed up for 8 hours a week, but Marilyn and I decided to stretch out my time to 4 hours a week to ensure I was retaining what I learned. There was no problem rearranging the schedule and Marilyn was always excellent about keeping in touch before our sessions. Marilyn worked hard to tailor the classes to what I'd like to learn and we eventually went off-script from the planned lessons available on the Spanish Blackbelt website. The price is stated as covering one level (16 hours) but the charge is really for the tutor's time. So at the end of my 16 hours, we were doing lessons from the second and third levels and beyond. I'm about to sign up for another round of classes to keep building on the basics that I've learned. Marilyn took the time to find a medical Spanish book she thinks would be most useful to guide our future sessions. My hope was to become proficient enough to take a medical Spanish class offered by my graduate school in the fall, but I think it might be more cost effective and more beneficial for me to keep meeting one-on-one with Marilyn. My overall experience with Spanish Blackbelt has been excellent. They are wonderful at keeping in touch and providing resources and encouragement. The sessions were built around my individual needs and, starting from nothing, I now know how to ask questions, discuss times and dates, explain what I'm going to do, and give instructions on what I'd like someone else to do. Next up is tackling more verb forms and learning more medical vocabulary. I am very happy about my decision to learn with Spanish Blackbelt and would absolutely recommend it to anyone who has a limited time frame and/or a specific use for Spanish in mind. Marilyn is wonderfully warm and supportive and she makes learning fun and interesting. Gracias por su tiempo!

GMAT Genius - GMAT preparation is an important step towards an MBA!

I spent hours looking through various test prep companies and eventually decided to message GMAT Genius because I felt like I needed a lot more personalized attention. Vinay promptly replied and scheduled a consultation with me, which led me to book 10 hours with him for online tutoring. This was by far the best decision I could have made for my MBA application. Vinay was extremely patient with me in every lesson and ensured that I had all of the materials needed to continue preparing on my own each week. The online platform he used was straightforward and allowed both of us to write/highlight/save each slide as needed. I particularly appreciated the structure of every class. Each concept Vinay taught would be separated into categories so that I could better recognize the types of questions that would be asked and more quickly decide how to solve them. The reading chapters he suggested also built upon everything we were learning so that I never felt like I just memorizing materials. As a curriculum developer, this pedagogy was exactly what I had hoped for. Our tutoring focused mostly on Quant since I had not touched a math class in more than 8 years. In the end, I improved by 140 points! My only wish is that I could have heard about GMAT Genius sooner so that I could have improved further. My final GMAT test was actually taken after I had already submitted my applications. But I'm certain that because of the increased score from that last test (a credit to the additional 4 hours I later booked with Vinay!) I was able to secure an interview with McDonough one week before their decision notification. I will be matriculating at McDonough this fall. Thank you, Vinay for all of your help! I could not recommend him and GMAT Genius enough!

He was thorough in giving me directions on what to do next and nothing ever felt overwhelming. 10/10, I highly, HIGHLY recommend.

My child was unable to attend high school almost her entire junior and senior years. Quantum Prep did not just teach my child the course materials and test prep, they motivated my child actually go above and beyond what was required. My child's work ethic, organizational and critical thinking skills, and self-confidence significantly improved under Quantum Prep's guidance. These skills have now transferred to post-high school life and I couldn't be happier.

I can honestly say without him, i don't know how I would of finished taking both courses. The lecturers and the TAs didn't communicate the material nearly as clearly and in a shorter time span as he did. He is clear and patient, and wants you to truly learn the material, not just get through a test or assignment. It is clear that he knows his material. Moreover he's very flexible with tutoring time and will take as much time and sessions needed until you understand the material. Being an athlete, my free is greatly limited, but he still found time to make sessions flexible to my schedule to his greatest ability. With my experience with him, if there were more teachers as clear and knowledgable as him, then class would be more clear and interesting and easier to follow. But in real-life situations, tutors such as Solomon are there to bridge the gap and help you succeed. I know I'll be using Quantum Tutoring in the future, especially as I get ready for MCATs, not to mention exams and tests.

The instructors were phenomenal - especially David, who went above and beyond to provide solid lectures, good examples, and additional supplementary materials. In addition to great teachers, Veritas' online classes were really helpful - either for reviewing material you're fuzzy on or making up for a missed class. Plus, they give you access to so many practice GMAT tests (some of their own, plus others they license), so you'll really feel prepared by the time test day comes. The class format of Veritas really sets it apart from other programs. For me, having the hands-on classroom time plus TONS of homework/practice problems was the necessary nudge I needed to make sure I was devoting adequate time to studying. The books are well thought out and give you a lot of detail. I'd recommend supplementing it with the Official GMAT guide (in your final weeks of studying) to really help give you a sense of the official GMAT Qs.

Before you go out and preach my review as gospel, let me make sure that everyone knows that about halfway through the Vertias Prep program I decided I didn't need a $100k MBA. I just want to learn how to start a business and maintain it and have a fairly good idea of what I'm doing. Therefore, my score actually went DOWN by 60 points after taking the class. I don't blame Veritas Prep, I was just disappointed that it wasn't good for someone who works full time. Also, if you suck at math...I advise getting a private tutor BEFORE starting this class. Lots and lots of Algebra.
