I like this Prometric. I have been to 3 now for various certifications and I like this location. Jeremiah, the manager, is clear and helpful. The location is clean and pretty spacious and bathrooms are not too far to get to if you need a break. I have an injury, so sitting is painful and they were able to let me bring a heat pack (no plug). The thing is - which I did not know - and you may have trouble with - you can't adjust stuff - in other words - you can't be moving around too much and moving a sweater on and off and behind your neck for support and so on. Can't kick your sandals off and sit cross legged. That kind of stuff - which can be extremely difficult when sitting for long periods. The rules are strict. If you are comfortable with a highly compliant environment though and you follow the rules, you should be good. I recommend bringing a bottle of water and a snack if you will be sitting for a long time. You can leave it outside of the room. Don't go for a break unless someone is at the desk, you'll have to wait if they are not there. You get screened every time you leave and re-enter and you need to sign in and out. Bring a sweater. Thankfully they keep it cool enough in there to keep people awake. Brains work best at 69-72 degrees I have heard. Good luck! read more

Absolute joke of place. Don't take anything here. I was supposed to take Step 1 here at 8 Am. Showed up at 7:30 and sat there for two hours until eventually we got a hold of the corporate office and were told they had a "staffing issue" and would have to reschedule. I took my USMLE exam here. The staff were nice and fast. I started my test 7:30 am. No check in line, The bathroom is located out side of the unit but really close , it wasn't locked and I didn't need to get the keys each time.The lobby was clean and calm that I had lunch there. I didn't have any problem during the exam . The computer & the mouse were in good condition but not excellent. The temperature was really good. But I suggest you to bring a sweater or a jacket. There is no refrigerator but there is a water dispenser. The check in- out line during the exam was so fast and there is nothing to worry. You can take your own ear plugs but they provide you a headphone also that I used more. There is a airport near to the center but. I had no problem during the exam and it was quiet enough. read more

Took a 4-hour test here and I was impressed with the facilities and friendly staff. The process was friendly and efficient. Staff checked me in with my ID, signed me in per the process, did the security check and lead me to my testing cube. The testing environment was kept respectfully quiet. And the noise-proof headsets that were provided were surprisingly effective! My only gripe: I read the "rules" beforehand and asked a few questions when I got there. If I hadn't inquired specifically about such things, the staff member would not have warned me about leaving water, snacks, medication or extra clothing on the public shelf since I was allowed no access to my locker once the test began. I think she went over it with others but not me. Bring extra layers. Not sure if my cube was just under the vent but temps ranged from hot and humid when the HVAC rested (it was an oddly rainy day in July) to freezing cold when the AC kicked on. read more

I've been to 2 different Prometric testing centers (Camarillo vs. Culver City). I'd say that the Camarillo location is bigger, amenities seem newer, and there is less chaos / less people who come here for test taking (at least it seems that way based on my visits). I did 2 of my exams here - passed both. The first exam was done at their older location, and the most recent exam was done at this newer location. The staff are friendly and even mentioned that I can take my exam earlier than 8am if I felt ready. :) Good lighting, low noise, and just relaxing -- perfect for those people who are in "test mode". read more

Lack of management. They didn't allow me to start exam with a Driver License (Real ID). Basically, the girl who was working there had a choice - to let me start on time and file a paper with ETS that I'm with DL and let me do test on time or to make me stressed out and ask my husband to drive with a baby with a passport. She chose the second way. After this everything went bad - from the locker where I had to leave my belongings instead of my car (cause I had no time left to go there) to absolutely unprofessional behavior of managers who called me off the room in the middle of exam and DID NOT stop exam while I was out (but told me that I will continue at the same place where I left). Stay away from this people, the most horrible place for examination! read more

Why is this place rated so low?! Come on people, it's a testing service. Yes, I'll give the fact that now it's located right by an airport. But it's a small non-commercial airport so the planes flying in/out are few. Otherwise, the location is better because the building is well maintained. I checked in almost an hour early with no problems. Security is just about what I expected. Especially if you watch the videos on "what to expect the day of" video as recommended. I think most people are complaining because of typical traffic (on being late on their own accord). Or not knowing the security process needed for these types of tests. Suck it up and don't take it out on a company that's contracted out by your exam! read more

Took my GRE exam here and I will have to retake due to the hostile environment of the staff here. In particular, an angry asian man who was blatantly rude to me. I scheduled my test the day before, when I walked in he asked- "When did you schedule the test?" To which I replied "Yesterday" and he said "Thats why, I don't have a test ready for you, and I wasn't able to call you regarding our 30 minute early policy." I didn't know what he expected me to do, so I asked him what that means and he just told me to get my id out. He was rude from the beginning but I just let it go since he is proctoring my exam. When the lady at the second desk rushed through directions she said to wave your paper if you needed more and they would bring you an extra and you would then grab the new one off the floor. In the middle of my quant section, I am waving my sheet in the air for a good minute or so, so I look up to see the the Asian man is just staring at me. He then calls me over, so I walk all the way to the front where he decides to have a conversation with me! Questioning if I understood the directions the lady gave- ALL DURING A TIMED QUANT SECTION. At this point I am so upset and annoyed I can hardly focus on my test. Then, during the break they begin to ask me where I plan on going for my break, and I explain I would like to get some water from my bag. As I am getting my water from my locker he walks up to me and says you cant take your bag out. I turn around because I clearly see another test taker on a break with his bag out of the locker, completely removed from his locker on a chair, and nothing was mentioned to him. I just turned to him and explained all I wanted is my water. All in all, it was a hostile environment to be taking a test. In all my practice tests leading up to the big day I was scoring at an 85th percentile and I ended up with a 53rd percentile. I will have to retake the test but if I can spare anyone the hassle, anger, and $200 test fee- please take this test somewhere else, anywhere else. read more

Great testing center. I appreciated how quiet it is during the exam. No stress. Free parking. I love the relaxing open surrounding area. Jeremiah was pleasant to interact with. I am glad I read the reviews about the potential to be seated next to the AC vent as it happened to me. I was prepared with a medium sized hoodie and a light jacket. It was not blowing the entire time, and intermittently I put on my hoodie or jacket. I didn't find it distracting, and it wasn't too freezing. It is nice they let you put our your snacks on a shelf so you don't need to waste time opening the locker. read more

I used to work here and left the job after 3 months. I genuinely liked the job but the Jeremiah was just so rude and insufferable. I was about to quit after only working 3 days, again, it was because of Jeremiah. I remember at the time he said that if I quit it will look bad on him because employees are leaving. Well he is exactly the reason why people leave. He was so rude and have always made fun of people and always commented regarding their race, and gender. Days prior to my last day I got a call from corporate and asked me to give a feedback on Jeremiah, due to my co-workers encouragement I was able to say what really was my reason for leaving. I hope he's not working here anymore. Testers are already stressed out, it doesn't hurt to be a human being. read more

NOT RECOMMENDED!!!! I would think TWICE about testing here if you want to pass your test and save yourself some stress. First of this staff doesn't care about your testing experience they are cold robots who seem like they are there collecting a check instead of providing a service. When you arrive the people at the front desk are robotic and talk "at" you instead of to you. An older Filipino looking man, whom i later found out was the manager, checked me in began by rapidly firing instructions and rules for the testing center, He was not a welcoming or warm start for a already nerve wracking situation for some. My test was allotted 4 hours for completion which seemed like plenty of time to get the test done. The day I tested was a cold, wet, rainy day in Feb. So, I was wearing a coat when I arrived. After going through the initial screening where they checked my coat and the rest of my person. I asked them if I need to take of my coat which they responded "No". They instead checked the pockets and the hood of the coat. I enter the testing center and sat at the station where I was assigned and began my test. About a hour in the air conditioning cut on and began blowing on my head as I was seated right underneath it. I began to FREEZE. I continued my test and tried to manage the cold air was distracting me. I put my hood on my head to block the air and the girl working there came over and told me take off my hood. I did but then pointed out the vent and told her I was cold and asked if she could turn the air down. She said "NO" and then shushed me like a child. I just refocused on getting my test done, hoping the air would shut off. But it didn't and I remained uncomfortable. Again, the girl came in to check on us and I pointed to the air duct above me, and she shushed me. I ended up taking 3 1/2 hour to finish the test with 30 mins to get back and check my answers. I was the last person in the testing center, so i the staff thought this was good time to begin cleaning the stations without any care for my testing experience. They began making noise and using cleaning chemicals while I was inside the closed room that emitted a terrible smell. They had NO ABSOLUTE CARE for my testing time and experience. I couldn't take it any of this place's horrible conditions anymore and just prematurely ended my test without checking. As I left, I was so fed up with these people I just asked, "Is there anything i need to do to complete the test?" The "manager" said "No". I took the test on same day as my co-worker so that we could support each other, and she was waiting outside the center for me. When I got saw her, she asked me if i passed and I said I didn't know. She said, "well where are you results." I told her they didn't give them to me. She said that she had been given her results, they had printed them, and I should go back and get them. So, I went back to get my results and buzzed the doorbell. The "manager" answered the door, I asked him if I was supposed to get my results from him and he answered, "I don't have anything for you". I explained that my co-worker had received her results and that had printed them out for her. He responded, "No....I didn't get anything for you. The computer didn't give me anything." I kind of looked at him sideways because he had this smirk on his face and you could tell he was lying. I asked if printed my co- workers results and he responded, "I don't know maybe it was glitch." and then he shut the door. I went back to my co-worker and told her that they hadn't given me my results and she was fed up too. She marched back over to the door and rang the door again and this time the girl answered. My co-worker told her that the "manager" had printed her results for her and wouldn't give me mine. the girl responded "Well, we've turned off the computers." My co-worker said, "Well you're going to turn them back on." The girl went back inside and a short wait later she produced my results to her. I won't even get into the fact that I am a person of color and my co-worker was not, but we were on the same page that I was treated differently than she was. Definitely, a micro-aggressive situation especially the behavior from the "manager" These people are ridiculous game players and unprofessional, I will never take another test at this center or Prometric's if I can help it. Their customer service is terrible all around and the people at this location don't care about you or your test. Save yourself some grief and test somewhere else. read more

I took my second and last GRE here in November 2019. My experience here was positive for the following reasons (not to invalidate other's negative experiences though!): 1) Staff were straightforward and transparent with testing protocols compared to the first place I tested at (Global Education Placement Services on Wilshire Blvd). The bar was kind of low though because I had the worst experience at the first place. At Global Education Placement Services, I got there at 8 AM, didn't start until after 10 AM. The person checking us in was also calling for an Uber...just to name a few transgressions. Prometric was significantly more organized and capable in comparison. 2) The testing room is its own room. It is separated from the check-in area and waiting room. Therefore, my testing experience was quiet! The amount of desk space each person had was also comfortable! I didn't feel like I was cramped. 3) I was allowed to start my test when I got there even though I arrived earlier than my scheduled test time. Therefore, I finished earlier than I expected! 4) No traffic getting to Camarillo compared to getting to Wilshire. I received my goal score at this test center which might skew my biases towards this place over the first place I tested at. However, I sincerely believe that the testing environment at Prometric is monumentally better for the physical things it provides. At baseline, regardless of the service you receive from the staff, you will have a quiet testing room, adequate desk space, and a straightforward start at check-in. These are the things I valued, considering my previous experiences lacked them. My miscellaneous notes: Bring a jacket; the air conditioning works a little too well. Get there 30 minutes early; the testing center may be hard to find in the building. Check what ID is accepted for your test/do your research; some people were confused about acceptable ID upon arriving, and this is something within your control for a smoother testing experience. Testing is always an anxiety-inducing experience, so I hope this helps you choose a testing center that suits your needs and doesn't exacerbate your anxiety. Good luck! I have to agree with all the bad reviews. The manager Jeremiah should not be working in this industry. His cold dementor is rude, no one should be going around there job with a frown on their face the whole time. I have to go take my GRE at the other Prometric center I used for my PMP since they are more professional in dementor. Jeremiah is rude with his militant unfriendliness. He gave me a panic attack. He is bad vibes that smart people know to never have near themselves let alone during an exam. Can Prometric seriously not find anyone else to manage this location? The temperature is very cold in the room. I wore a wool sweater and was still cold. With as many bad reviews that Jeremiah has Prometric should conclude that he needs to find a different job. read more

This was my third time taking a test at prometric and this location by far was the least stressful for a few reasons...the center is small so that means no lines when checking in and out during a break. The facility is very new and clean. They try to seat you near people who are taking the same test to minimize having people walk past you/ getting up at different times. They even have a bench near some roses out front so I took my lunch out there. Only negative was how cold the testing room was. I had a sweater on and was still chilly. It is by a small airport but I think it's sound proof/ I had no issues with noise during my test day. Good luck! read more

I tested here 3x and every time it takes more than 15 minutes to repeat irrelevant information. I have gone to the Glendale location and they do not have the same extensive inefficient check in. They require you to be there 30 mins prior to your test, but they had 10+ people being checked in so I was not seen until an hour later, so what's the point there? Lastly, each employee has been forceful for me to "take a seat" I do not have to sit on a chair if I do not want to, so instead I was told to wait outside. Very rude and unfriendly staff that it made me want to drive an hour away to another location to test because of the staff! read more

I had the worst experience ever with them, I didn't bring my passport the day of my test but only my ID from my country and they didn't accept me to pass the test even though they had all the informations about me in their computer, the guy at the office was really nice but the woman who was working with him sounded really stupid read more

For a testing center this place was pretty good. The staff was well informed and friendly, the lockers were big enough for my backpack, the restrooms were clean, tons of free parking, easy to find, and comfortable testing seats & headphones. The only thing I didnt like was that the temperature was not well controlled. I was freezing the whole time even though I wore a sweater and layers. I asked them to turn it up and they agreed then I noticed the AC going on and off the entire 8hour test I was there, and of course sitting directly under the vent. Next time Ill just ask to be moved. There was plenty of seats to enjoy my lunch and review during my breaks. If I ever need to test again in this area Ill be back. read more

I took a GRE test in the spring of 2017. It was a stormy day. I walked in about forty-five minutes earlier than the scheduled test time. A girl greeted me with her super-fast tone on test regulations. I noticed there was a baldheaded and cold-faced Filipinos (or different Asian ethnicity), who stood guarding the inner entrance to the test room. I approached him and politely asked him for permission to go to restroom ... I came back in about ten to fifteen minutes. I looked at my phone. It was 12:15 pm which was 15 minutes ahead of my official printed test schedule. The cold-faced Filipinos stared at me unpleasantly and then blamed me, "Do you realize that this whole room of people (about six) is waiting for your return? Where have you been? Because of you (didn't come back in time), they couldn't get in to take the test!" (Really? Why? I wondered and still don't know) then he turned to those awaiting examinees and declared that "we will close the center at 5:00 pm sharp! You will take whatever the time you have to finish your test because of him!" "You are not going to pay us over time, will you?!" Then he paused for a few minutes without doing anything and then called the waiting examinees one by one in approximately every five minutes interval to get into the exam room. As punishment, he purposefully called me as the last to come in at 12:40 pm. It had ten minutes passed my official test-starting time (12:30 pm). The nightmare just began for the next four hours... It was very disturbing ...he repeatedly gave me hard time during my official breaks and particularly during the second half of my test... I had to file a formal complaint to the ETS headquarter in the following day...one month later one official from ETS sent me an apology email and I was allowed to retake the test free of charge. read more

Nice facility and staff. But, the cold air from the vent - on a cold day - was blowing directly down on me for about half of my exam. Not especially comfortable - thankfully I was dressed warmly. I understand that it does get hot in the testing room though so they need to cool it off. The noise-cancelling headphones are a far cry from the Bose ones (the best on the market). These cheap yellow knock-off earmuffs are damned uncomfy and do not filter out as much of the noise as they should. Otherwise, it was a good experience. Be prepared to be frisked and fingerprinted, depending on which exam you're taking! read more

Do NOT take your license test here if you want to be accused of not following rules. I took a test here, and it was the first time I walked into a testing facility like this. The ladies on staff there were very nice to inform me about some of the policies for the test and answer my questions. However, the asian man there is absolutely rude. There was a break in which I was informed I could take. So I rushed to the bathroom with an upset stomach, and came back with about 6 minutes left. The asian guy suddenly pops out of the hallway to the examination room giving me a cold look telling me I was late and my break included inspection again. I would have appreciated he mentioned that BEFORE I went on break, and instead of after... After all the normal inspection, he bluntly told me that I was officially late and to get back into the testing room to finish up. Honestly, nobody needs the stress when taking an important test for their career. Especially getting accused. The man was very unprofessional and I couldn't tolerate his discourtesy. I don't recommend anyone take their exams here, unless this is the closest location offered to you. Hopefully, future test takers at this location will be treated nicely and informed of everything prior to taking their test. I won't be making the same mistake again, and taking my future exams elsewhere. read more

Horrible proctors. Unprofessional and inconsiderate behaviors. Avoid it all time! I was on time with my driver license ready, but being asked to bring my passport. Even if I came back with my passport by 830 as the proctor previously agreed, I was blocked and had to forfeit my TOEFL test. I also noticed that other test takers were delayed due to microphone tech issues at 8, but I was blocked at 828 claiming the test had started. Have to file an official complaint to ETS read more

Had a little bit of trouble finding the test site location for my board exam, so I called in asking which building it was in. When I got there and started talking with the lady at the front desk (who was great), she went to ask a question of the other person working and he very loudly went on about me not being able to find the location. I forgot to bring the printout sheet with me and he made what was already a stressful experience (having to take an 8 hour, career-determining test) much worse. I'm generally pretty easy-going, but his rudeness was really not fun to deal with. read more

I have taken the test Prometric - Camarillo yesterday. My experience was not as good as I was hoping for. In the last 20 minutes of my test, closer to 4 PM EST, the staff member came in and started to clean stations. She was using cleaning supplies and wiping keyboards. This created noise and smell, which both were distraction to me, since I was already taking test for 4 hours. I have spoken to manager today, apparently it is their procedure to clean desks after candidates leave, but the fact is I was still there one of the last ones. Considering they did not accept any more new test candidates that day since they close at 5 PM, that means that cleaning could have been done after ALL candidates completed their tests. I believe that the staff just wanted to get out earlier hence pre-clean. Luckily, I have passed my test, but it was absolutely distracting to hear keyboard cleaning noise and smell chemicals while already being exhausted from the 4 hour test with no breaks. I suggest you do not take tests in this location, because depending on your concentration level, but it can cost you a good grade and hinder your performance. read more
