Finished Product - Promax Tankless Water Heater Installation

Started my day by stepping into a puddle on my garage floor, traced it back to our aging water heater (50 gallon Kenmore unit). We had inherited the unit when we bought the house and knew at the time that it's days were numbered. Called several plumbers looking for someone having experience with tankless heaters and willing to offer advice and counsel on the pros and cons of tankless vs. tank heaters. I was surprised that several of the plumbers I spoke with had limited knowledge and/or were unwilling to discuss specifics. Daniel at ProMax was clearly the exception. He took the time to listen to my questions and provided clear and detailed answers. I invited Daniel to come out that afternoon to provide a quote. We reviewed our hot water requirements, number and location of hot water taps, size of the household, etc. before we started discussing potential replacements. Once he understood our requirements he provided his thoughts on the types of water heaters, brands, sizes, placement and accessories that would meet our needs. Once we settled on the specifics he summarized the details and had a quote in my hand within the hour. I had a different plumber come out the following morning to provide a quote. After comparing the two it was very clear that not only was ProMax very cost competitive, the offered solution was much more reliable with a cleaner layout. The next morning Alex arrived on time and was immediately on the job. He was efficient, productive, focused, knowledgeable and a very polite and pleasant person to work with. Overall I am very pleased with the results and highly recommend giving Daniel a call the next time you need a plumber, I know I will.

ProMax is the most trustworthy pluming services out there. I've used them for three different jobs now in my home. Every time they give me an honest assessment and great tips. They leave my home clean and frankly the pipe work looks great! For your tankless system, water softener/filtration systems. ProMax is YOUR best option! I guarantee it! So much respect for these guys! Thanks again!

Daniel recently installed a whole house Pelican Combo Filter and Water Conditioner to eliminate chloramines and hard water, paired with a reverse osmosis system for fluoride and other impurities that may exist in municipal water. Very pleased, as always, with the quality of work, the ease of communication, professionalism and knowledge over plumbing systems. Daniel narrowed down my whole house filter search to two systems and I decided for the more expensive system as the ongoing maintenance and cost was lower over lifetime of system after initial outlay. In all my research Daniel's recommendations were all on point. I highly reccomend ProMax Tankless for all your plumbing needs.

They installed my Navien tankless water heater with recirc pump. I was very happy with their service and their competitive pricing.

I got the name of George Baird Drain Service from a friend who has used them on many occasions and said they have never let him down, The long story: My dad lives in a 2BA house in Clairemont that was built in 1960 (it has original plumbing, which is cast iron plumbing underneath a slab). The shower in the master bath and the tub in the guest bath both stopped draining last week. My dad called his whole home warranty company (Choice Home Warranty) who then sent out a local rooter service to clear the drains. The technician/plumber they sent out spent roughly *3 hours* there. He tried snaking the clog from multiple drains but was unsuccessful; he even put a camera down the drains to try to figure out the issue. In the end, this person told my dad that the only way to clear the clog would be for them to replace a portion of the cast iron piping with new PVC -- this would involve them breaking up the concrete slab in his bathroom floor, digging out dirt, replacing the piping, refilling the dirt, and then repairing the slab with new concrete. They quoted a cost of around $2400, and said that my dad would be responsible for hiring someone else to put in new flooring over the repaired concrete slab (suffice to say, that would cost him a bunch more money). I called a friend who is a property manager and asked him for his opinion; he recommended George Baird Drain service, who he said always did a great job when he called them out to unclog a unit. Taking his advice I did that. They sent someone out the first day to clear the drain and he was unsuccessful; but instead of giving up, he said that they had some people who sort of specialized in these old cast iron pipes and said the company would call later in the day to send one of those specialists out to try to clear it. True to their word they setup an appointment for one of these specialists to come out the next day. Sure enough this guy got the drain cleared, and he did so very quickly. It was as bunch of hair that came out, and now the drains have been running smoothly ever since. He said that these old cast iron pipes have a habit of creating clogs and so he wouldn't be surprised if every 1-2 years from here on out they end up clogging again. All I have to say is that if/when they do, I know who we'll be calling to unclog them, and that is George Baird Drain service.

When the technician arrived, he took a quick look, flashed a light around, and glanced under the crawl space--but never actually went in to investigate. After a few minutes, he told me he couldn't find anything and suggested a costly camera inspection. At that point, I asked him a question about our dishwasher, and he ran a wire through it, pushing out a bit of food buildup. It was a small fix, and I was grateful for the help. Then came the shock--he told me I owed him $200. I was stunned. For what amounted to a flashlight glance and a quick poke at the dishwasher, it felt incredibly excessive. I was home alone and felt pressured to pay, but I walked away from that interaction feeling completely taken advantage of. Thankfully, we contacted a second plumber who actually took the time to go into the crawl space, snake the main line, and diagnose the real issue--without charging a dime for the inspection. He gave us a fair quote, fixed the problem properly, and even installed a two-way sewer cleanout. That's the kind of service that earns long-term trust. I don't normally write reviews like this, but I want others to know: do your homework. There are honest, hardworking professionals out there. Sadly, this company wasn't one of them.
