I found this place via Groupon and I've been going to this location for about a year now. I had pcos related chin hair that was getting difficult to maintain with waxing or epilating. I started noticing amazing results after my fourth session. Once the first 6 sessions were complete, I started doing maintenance sessions once every 6 months for hair to not come back. You typically need to do maintenance sessions with laser hair removal to avoid regrowth. My ingrown hairs, hyperpigmentation, and general irritation around the chin area are completely gone. I would go back to this spa for any future laser hair removal treatments. read more

I will never go back! The tipping culture here is very uncomfortable. You buy a package and they expect you to tip a percentage of the total cost of the package for each session. Some sessions take less than 5 minutes so it's just laughable to be asked to tip $20-30. I also haven't seen nearly as significant results from their equipment that I've seen at other med spas. They've also asked me to reschedule or go to another location multiple times. I am also having issues where requests to unsubscribe from their marketing is ignored. Overall, would recommend going elsewhere - I've been to two other med spas in the area and both are better than this one. read more

I had a laser hair removal session with Angela. I was told by the front desk representative on my previous appointment that I had one session left, so, I then made an appointment. I arrived and waited 15 minutes for Angela to clean up the room and take me back. Angela asked about my current package, I then explained to her I was told I had one session left. However, she could not locate that information in the system. Angela was not helpful and unapologetic about the error that was made by the front desk representative. She became immediately dismissive and asked, "if I wanted to purchase a package." I have been a loyal customer with the company for sometime now and the treatment I received was truly unacceptable. Angela did not offer to rectify the situation in any way. Perhaps she could have called a manager or even applied a discount. Not to mention I drove 50 minutes for my session just to be told I did not have one. I have referred people to this business. Furthermore, I waited a few month for a manager to contact me and no one ever reached out. As of now, I am very discouraged to return or referral out. I'm extremely disappointed to have to write this review, but I had an awful experience with Prolase Medispa in Fairfax. I purchased a full body laser hair removal package, 6 sessions for $2,500 (plus tip for each session). Let me preface this by saying I have very light skin and very dark, almost black, hair on a lot of my body. Theoretically, I should have been a great candidate for laser hair removal. Session #1 was done by the owner, sessions #2-5 were done by a very sweet young lady (I believe she said she the owner's sister in law), and Session #6 was done by another young lady. I felt little to no pain, which was great, however at every single Session between 2 and 5, I told young lady #1 that I was seeing very little to no change at all. She kept reassuring me I would have 60-80% hair loss after the 6th Session and to trust the process. At Session #6, young lady #2 was much more responsive to my comments that it wasn't working, however it was too little, too late. So let me tell you about Session #6. I tell her I'm seeing almost no change, even still. She says you have fairly light hair so your hair removal may take longer. So I tell her the hair on my head is both dyed and lighter than the rest of the hair on my body. I proceed to show her the shaved stubble on my chin and she says "wow, yeah that is almost black." So, she goes to look at my file to see what settings were used during the prior sessions. She comes back and we get started per usual. The pain is greater during this Session, but still entirely bearable. After she's done my face, arms and belly, almost word for word says "I'm using twice as high of a setting I use on some people and they can't handle it, and you're barely flinching." Maybe my skin is just more resistant to the laser, I don't know. But what I do know is I've walked away with little to no results, and almost $3,000 down the drain. And they wanted me to purchase another package which is horribly upsetting and almost comical. If it were working, I was absolutely prepared to purchase more Session. But I paid for results and didnt get any. Why would I do that again? My estimated percentage hair loss is: Face (chin and upper lip): 0-10% Arms (I have light hair on my arms and they're covered in freckles so this is the one area I wasn't expecting much and didn't care too much about): 0% Underarms: 10-20% Belly: 0-10% Areolas: 10-20% Bikini: 10-20% Legs: 25% I grew my leg and armpit hair out after the 6th Session for the sole purpose of getting a picture for this review. Attached are those pictures, and proof that I wasted my money at this place. If your money means something to you and you're purchasing a laser hair removal package as an investment in yourself, I would not recommend this establishment. read more

Couldn't have had a worse first experience. First, it took me over a month to get the appointment because I was told only one girl does that facial. No problem. They couldn't book me near my home either, so not only did I take time off work for this, I drove 40 minutes out of my way. Fine. My appointment was at 10 a.m. I show up 10 minutes early like most spas request of their new clients. Locked. Someone finally arrives at 10:06 a.m. I'm already irritated. I walk in and I'm told they see me in the system, but there's no appointment booked for anytime or any location. What?! Then all the lady can say is sorry about that, not let me see if we can squeeze you in or I'll get you in next week, nothing. Just sorry about that. I'm very particular when it comes to my med spas. Previously I had been driving all the way to MD for my laser hair removal and have now switched over to Prolase Medispa. The laser treatment room is bright and sunny, very spacious, and has a relaxing atmosphere. The BIGGEST upside of doing hair removal here is their brand new "pain free" laser. Having gone through fairly uncomfortable and mildly painful laser hair removal at other med spas I have to say this is a GAME changer. I did my full arms here without any numbing cream and it was the most comfortable laser hair removal I have ever had (dare I say relaxing)! It feel like a hot stone massage across your arms:) also the last time I was in it was a bit chilly and the woman performing my laser put a blanket across my legs during my treatment. I had my enhanced microdermabrasion with Yekaterina on Thursday - she is wonderful! She is knowledgeable, thorough but gentle and professional. My skin looks so refreshed and is glowing. Yekaterina is not pushy when it comes to skin care line sold at the salon - which is a huge plus, I can't stand when I'm being told that the only way I can (and SHOULD) take care of my skin is to purchase pricey professional skin care products. The staff here are very unfriendly and unprofessional. I went the estimate for cool sculpting and the lady drew on my arm. It looked good. But when they really did the treatment, they drew totally different from what they did during estimate. So pretty much they did the place I didn't want to do for cool sculpting. When I first arrived at the spa it was clean and everyone seemed really nice. I started out with a set of 4 IPL treatments for my face and laser hair removal for my underarm. This was near the end of 2017. After seeing barely any results from the IPL treatments I should've stopped but they told me I should try out a newer machine they recently received which would go deeper underneath the skin. So I bought a package of 4, because I'm such a sucker. The same thing happened with the underarm I bought another 4 sessions for my underarm. Now it is sept 2018, I avoided sun all summer and put sunscreen on everyday now and my sun spots hasn't improved and I would say I see even more spots than before. As for my underarm, the hair is thinner in some spots but they still grow out and I still need to shave. Maybe this works for some people, but def not me. Such a waste of money for me! read more

Wow! I was super impressed with the staff and facilities at Prolase MediSpa in Fairfax. The facilities are clean and in a medical building. Very peaceful and calming.
