I graduated from Concord 9'2022 and Mr.Roya was my clinical instructor. During our clinical rotations, Ms.Roya went above and beyond to make sure we had opportunities to learn and gain hands on experience in different clinical settings. She was always proactive in communicating with staff and facility personnel and worked hard to create learning opportunities for her students. When we were at a clinical site, she paid close attention to every detail and constantly made sure that we were following proper procudures and staying safe. It made me realize how much of an impact she had on my education and how much i still appreciate everything she taught us. Looking back, I was thinking that she was little too strict with us. But now that I have graduated and have been working in a hospital for the past 3 years, I understand why she was that way. Her attention to detail, high standards, and emphasis on safety helped prepare me for the reality of working as a nurse. I sincerely recommend Concord to anyone who is serious about becoming an LVN. Former RT Student…read more Respiratory Therapy program at Concorde Career College, I want to share an honest picture for anyone considering it. You'll hear "we care about you graduating" constantly. The problem is that the program seems more focused on keeping graduation numbers high than on making sure students actually learn. When many students fail an exam or don't understand a concept, the response is to blame students for being on their laptops or social media rather than looking at how the material is being taught. Lectures are largely recycled from term to term. Instructors don't seem to have the freedom to teach creatively or go deeper into the material in ways that would keep students engaged. In an accelerated program, class time is also regularly interrupted for school surveys and long discussions about job placement, time that could be spent on content. The classroom environment has also been a real issue. When students raised concerns about cheating, enough detail reached the students involved that they retaliated and singled out the people they suspected of reporting them. It's created drama you'd expect in high school, not in a college program full of adults training for healthcare careers. Unfortunately, it often feels like getting along with the instructors matters more than being a strong student who earns good grades and is genuinely working to become a skilled respiratory therapist. One more thing to know: the admissions office won't let prospective students talk to current students until after you've enrolled and signed. If you're considering this program, look for reviews from current and former students and ask hard questions before you sign anything.

The alumni have a strong network with each other where friendships span multiple decades. I not only researched all the court reporting schools in the state of CA, but I researched schools all over the country, and I kept track of the numbers of licensed court reporters that they produced over an almost two decade period since. South Coast College has consistently produced more CA CSRs than any other school in the state, and they have also outperformed schools across the entire United States. I have personally seen more students fly through the program in one year in the last 17 years than any other school in the entire United States. And they are leaders in the number of first-time test passers. When court reporters can make more money annually than Harvard-trained lawyers and judges, the tuition at SCC should be no object.
