The PMP class offered by Project Managemnt Academy (PMA) is an excellent way to earn contact hours required for the PMP exam as well as become prepared to sit of the exam. My first atempt to pass the PMP exam was unsuccessful. I felt prepared when taking the exam initially only to find that I had quite a few knowledge gaps. Before taking the exam for the second time I decieded to take the prep course offered by PMA. The training plan that PMA has put together along with the way the trainer Mrs. Jackie Ockleberry, PMP presented the material was spot on! After the class I spent 3 weeks going back over the class material and taking the additional mock exams that are part of the class. I successfully passed the exam on my 2nd atempt. I attended the PMA PMP prep course (boot camp) on June 1- 4, 2015 with Jackie Ockleberry and it was GREAT! Jackie does a phenomenal job of reviewing the material and the PMA supplements are very thorough. I took the test a week later and passed on my first attempt. Great course and a great instructor. NOTE: I do want to make it clear that you do need to have PM experience and a working knowledge of project management before you take any boot camp / PMP prep. I had an MBA and years of experience before I took the course. The course helped me remember the things I had learned and made sure I understood how the concepts were couched in the PMBOK. I did not want to give the impression that you could just take a boot camp without making sure you did the work on your end first and just pass the test. Our teacher, Jackie Ockleberry, was great in making me understand the PMP class material. Students should realize that outside study is necessary for passing the PMP test. I read the PMP book before the class and sections after the class. I also watched every class video again and took 5 practice tests. I did pass on the first try about three weeks after my Project Management Academy class. I would also like to note that my first PMP class with The Knowledge Academy was canceled the day before the class which forced me to take a different PMP class and reschedule my time off to take this class. Our instructor, Jackie Ockleberry, was extremely knowledgable, had applicable experience, and gave as a sound foundation in the application of the PMBOK principles and guidelines. The PMA website offered great help with the availability of mock exams and study materials...I highly recommend it! I took the course from Nov. 17-20th, took 4 additional mock exams on the website, re-read the PMBOK Guide, and then took my PMP exam on Dec. 11th...Passing on my first try! I attended the PMP test preparation boot camp in Fort Worth on 02.10.2014. Prior to this class, I had absolutely no experience of, or exposure to the PMBOK method of managing and controlling projects. I took the PMP prep course from Project Management Academy June 1-4, 2015. I passed my PMP on my first attempt 10 weeks later! Jackie Ockleberry is a fantastic presenter, had good energy, made the material make sense. You will have to study more after the class is over, but this course really put me in a good place to succeed. I attended Project Management Academy's PMP 4-day boot camp on 09/22/2014. The course is designed to help you learn PMBOK terminology and pass the PMP exam.
