Love this market!…read more Supporting small local biz who show the love of Hawai'i and the culture in their own way showcasing an impressive collection of items is what makes this market so special. Like many other markets who seems to be trying to find a place Ho'omau Hawai'i Market has been shopping around and I think I do love this current location at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Coral Ballroom which was tricky to find if you're not paying attention like me as the ballroom sits on the 6th floor of the parking building so it's super convenient along with parking is validated at $10 flat rate which the staff was just so friendly to explain it all is nice. Happening over the following Black Friday weekend (Nov 26th & 27th), many are familiar and a few that is new to me browsing around in the cool air conditioning ballroom made the shopping experience nice. Weather it's picking up cute Turkish Towels and glassware from Kris Hawaii, Mamaki tea from Kihene, or my cravings at 'Ulu Chips and Hummus and many offered such great deal along with entertainment is such a calming vibe that has me shopping much more than I expected and the uniqueness is what makes this market so special. Thank you!

The amazing joy I find is that no two market is alike, as this December 2022 at Ward Village event was held in the former Pier 1 location next to Nordstrom Rack. I had a blast exploring @AdamJK uniqueness as each of us loved the realness we can relate to each item weather a time that says shhhh, I got a stress ball that says "Nothing Matters" and I'd really like the hat "I really don't know what I'm doing" for work lol!! His spirit was just so fun and bright :-) My other delight was One Shabby Chick @oneshabbychickhawaii and unknowingly my first tote from her was a collaboration with @makelemonadeproject a non profit to ease financial burdens and going though it myself instantly got me so of course I needed another tote! So many fun gifting ideas, Bas bookshop, jewelry ad even a random give away "fingers crossed" this pet friendly market has something for all. Follow Art + Flea @artandflea to keep updated on their events, crafty retail therapy is a real Art form! Thank you!

We walked across the street to the back portion behind Marukai. Admission was $3 for the adults. The two kids were free. There were food booths but we saved our hunger for Goma Tei in the Ward Center. I jumped on the bike that helped power the KTUH sound stage. I got a free bag from Kaleo newspaper. It had some cool goodies inside. At the Yelp booth, Raelyn played a trivia game. I won a Yelp thermos. Many vendors were set up in a two-story warehouse. We picked up some cool young women's clothes at a terrific discount. Andy Lee was making his art and kindly gave us a free sample. All in all a pretty good night for a family get-together or outing. Also, it seemed very pet friendly even though the theme was Tokyo. During some bedtime talk we agreed that this event was more art than flea, but the flea bargains were indeed great.

I was first introduced to Neko Koneko from their bottled milk teas, hojicha, and matcha. I would see them at farmer's markets popping up, but their cafe really brings their drinks to the next level. I like how a lot of their iced drinks, when you dine in you can do a little pour over action so the ice doesn't water down the drink too much. When I first came by, I couldn't decide between a matcha and a coffee so I got both... and fully finished both drinks they were so good. Parking can be tricky, it's only metered parking on the busy street. The space is small, but if there aren't any tables available inside there's also an outdoor patio area for you to enjoy your drinks

If you haven't heard then you're missing out cause Yuji Sushi is the freshest catch you can find and the latest location was at the Art + Flea now located at the Capitol Modern and as much as I'd love to gatekeep this event wonderful local biz like this needs to be showcased. I took my bestie for our very belated outing and as much as an introvert she is she's a wonderful exploring pal to have with you as we did so when we stumbled on to Yuji Sushi where you can find his "Musubi Sushi" which is a 1600's style Tokyo sushi which is quite the chubs in those days though I find it quite adorable as the rice (which is from Rice Factory btw) is more rounded and is topped with shiso micro greens, pickles and a wasabi sauce. We ordered the Bluefin Tuna and King Salmon I chose to have all the toppings while hers was naked lol watching him build each one is fun to see and though this more informal pop up felt like a fancy omakase as it was all dressed up and ready for a bunch of pics as it was so cute. Let me tell you that was such a light and refreshing bite and to say that for a sushi tells you something and what a fun and cool way to feel fancy the slice of fish was quite generous along with a light brushing of sauce gave it a extra flair as we ate them with pinkies up it was a nice an enjoyable experience that made us smile. You can certainly find him at Fishcake as well so check their calendar so that you don't miss the chance of this hand crafted goodness. Thank you!

My wife attended a "Pop Up Makeke"event and purchased an outfit from Lotus & Lime for an up coming event she would be attending. Upon getting her outfit ready for the event, she noticed two holes in the material. My wife called "Pop Up Makeke" because all transactions when through them. The lady from Pop Up Makeke was trying to get this resolved but Kim the owner of Lotus & Lime was not willing to do anything. My wife also sent pictures of the holes through Pop Up Makeke and Kim said the holes should be there. What?!? My wife then talked to Davis Price from Pop Up Makeke who was really rude to her and made her cry. Kim did not try to reach out to my wife and never answered my wife's phone calls. If you're ever at an event and see Lotus & Lime there, check your items really well because they will not back their clothing!! Some of my wife's friends said that they didn't purchase anything from Lotus & Lime because Kim was very rude. BEWARE!!!!
