Stay away from Brooklyn Podiatry Associates. I purchased a LivingSocial voucher for laser toe…read morefungus removal for $50 that advertised a promotional value of $800, a 94% discount! So I bought it in hopes of having $800 worth of laser work done at steep discount. Seems too good to pass up right? When I arrived at their location I was told that the treatment I was going to receive really only cost $75-$150 (depending on which person I was talking to, seems like they just make prices up on the spot). So, instead of a 94% discount, I was really only receiving a 33% discount. Had I known this, I wouldn't have bothered to purchase this because it's really not that great of a deal. The staff were pleasant enough during my visit although the equipment used was extremely old looking and couldn't possibly have been the latest available (as I would've thought for a procedure ordinarily costing $800). When I called back the next day to confront them about this huge difference in what is advertised and what is delivered, the staff member was extremely rude, defensive, and hung up on me before we even finished the conversation. All I can say is, do not go to this shady business. Their only aim is to offer shoddy service while misleading their customers into thinking they're getting a great deal when the reality is much, much different.

He kept asking the same question over and over and was sweating profusely. I bought the topical solution that the doctor recommended from them of course It was another $20 cash....but I am seriously going to reconsider going back to them unless I see a marked difference in my toenails . In addition they had a lot of security cameras there but they had security cameras also in the examination rooms which I honestly thought was against HIPPA laws. I'm probably now starring in a 6 minute foot fetish video on X tube .

TLDR: Very Bizarre Experience that left a very negative impact on my son and me…read more My son had a freak accident and fell, hurt his right foot. Went to CityMD... they did X-rays, told us it's a "small bone fracture". Referred us to a podiatrist - Deloor Podiatry. Went literally 3 days later and we saw Dr. Francis. She was amazing with my son. She told him "his season was over" but at least he didn't need a cast. She advised us to take care of it, elevate the injured foot, ice daily to reduce swelling, don't put weight on it, wear the boot. Her diagnosis - "the fracture will heal by itself, in about 4-5 weeks. Gave him a script for ibuprofen." And to get new x-rays and return in 2 weeks. We left assured and informed. Then it went downhill. A week went by, the office called telling me we have an appointment to see Dr. Jose Loor... and that we needed to come in right away. I let the office know - my son didn't get his x-rays done yet and it hasn't been 2 weeks! What is going on? And what happened to Dr. Francis?!! The receptionist simply says: "oh, no you are to see Dr. Loor now. Dr. Francis is not here anymore." WHAT?! Ok, it will be fine. They have my son's details and file. After we got the new x-rays done at Lenox Hill Radiology, we made the appt to go back to see Dr. Loor. Checked in. Paid a $30 co-pay. Met Dr. Loor, he examined my son's injured foot. Proceeds to ask "how did you injured your foot? Where is the pain?" Then he says "He needs surgery to remove the small piece of bone fragment." And a slew of details about what needs to happen, get his PCP to clear him for surgery, right away. This Saturday is open". I asked - "what about the new X-rays? Does it show the foot has worsen?". He then went to check the X-rays. Continues to tell us "surgery is the best option and we should get it done ASAP. Otherwise he will be in a hard cast for 12 weeks." I was dizzy from the fast pace sales pitch for surgery. Before we left, he made the receptionist scheduled us back in 2 days. (She even questioned him... in 2 days?). I took the referral note for my son's PCP. Full stop. I asked my son's PCP, does he need surgery? She recommended a 2nd opinion. We did. 2nd opinion says "he's 17, it's mending by itself. Give it 2-3 weeks and use the boot." Never looked back. Please parents - do what's best for your child. Due diligence check and go with your gut. My gut told me - "don't jump to surgery, not everything the doctor says is gospel. Surgeons always like to CUT. But not always the only option". PSA: I'm not sure if anyone else experienced this but I received numerous calls from multiple "different" individuals working for this podiatry office - constant hounding for me to schedule the surgery. Even after I said "No. We are not moving forward with surgery and will be getting a 2nd opinion." - 3 different people called me. Then Dr. Loor called me to confirm surgery. He tells me "Dr. Francis is not a surgeon, she wouldn't know what to recommend."Just WOW. Threw his own colleague under the bus. Either (1) they don't connect with each other or (2) it's a high pressure sales tactic to ensure you go through with surgery. Please check your insurance activity! Good luck.

After a bad experience at another dental office under my insurance plan, I ended up learning that…read moreDyker Heights Foot & Dental Wellness Center was my closest office to be visited. I had been dealing with a broken filling for a few months and really felt it was time to get this addressed. The downside was learning from Dr. Goldfarb that it was not a broken filling but a needed root canal (oh joy) and would need attention and then take a crown on top of it. Worse yet, my particular insurance covered none of the expense and I am not typing what it ran me out of pocket since it hurts even to think about it. That said, I give Dr. Goldfarb a big thumbs up because he addressed the more vital concern of the root canal as fast as possible and has a very pleasant chairside demeanor. No one likes going to the dentist to my knowledge and going to a new one very simply freaks me out even though I can put on an aloof calm and cool exterior about it. Goldfarb appears to be very friendly and pleasant when talking to you during the process. He made sure to numb the working area which for me is super necessary and while it hurt just a tad afterwards, it was root canal so I expected some level of ouch afterwards. Now that is done and all I await is the setting of the crown but there was no reason to hold back on Yelping at this point. I'll return for the followup checkup as long as he is covered by my insurance. At least they will be paying for that aspect of it.
