He explained how I would get better and how long it would take. He explained how hard it would be but he would make sure that I ended up with full range of motion. Between Bill Schwarz and Dr.Erika Doyle I received the most amazing care and cannot believe how well I have recovered . Every single staff member from the front desk to the staff that placed me on ice and heat was considerate and caring. They all even knew my name. Every person there knows their job and keeps up with every patient. This is a well run physical therapy institute with caring and extremely knowledgeable staff. And each one seems to have different ideas about what you should be doing which can contradict each other. They make you pay $15 per session without even knowing what insurance will cover. The bigger issue is that they like to limit the amount of sessions even though insurance says otherwise in order to push their expensive personal training.

I've been seeing Joe Caprioli,…read moreowner and physical therapist for approx 1 1/2 years , and he radically changed my personal outlook, and prognosis from the orthopedic doctor I had been seeing for a fall that broke my elbow, other bones in my arm and greatly impacted my shoulder as well. The orthopedic doctor gave me a bleak outcome unless I would have him do surgery, and I take surgery very seriously. Joe would never tell someone they didn't need surgery, when in fact they do, because he doesn't interfere in what is in his patient's best interest, as his integrity is extremely intact. Joe is a highly educated , up to date , highly skilled, personable practitioner who knows his stuff. He listens and leads with sensitivity , and compassion. His expertise, natural instincts, and intuitive insights allow him to be attuned to his patient's needs and feelings, while educating you on what exactly is going on. I never feel rushed nor do I ever feel Joe's focus is elsewhere, and he certainly has a lot to oversee. Joe manages to stay focused on what he is doing, maintains his equilibrium and pleasant demeanor. Joe then executes his remarkable skills with the highest degree of confidence, which in turns fills the patient with the same confidence that they are indeed improving with the overall goal of restoring their mobility and function, while under his care and expertise. In the past I had been to other physical therapy facilities, and there is no one in my opinion that even remotely comes close to what Joe Caprioli does for his patients. First and foremost, Joe Caprioli is literally, physically hands-on, none of this "go over there and do this, then go and do that". Of course you are given self-exercises to do, but they are given for the purpose of complimenting the treatment that Joe has performed on you first. What you are told to do on your own is never a substitute for Joe's treatment, but rather a supplement to Joe's hands-on treatment. You will not feel like you are in a factory, and will feel like your treatment plan is truly tailored to your specific injury or issues, rather than a one- size -fits- all approach. You will feel the positive results of your sessions, which will exceed your expectations. I don't know what the status of my injuries would be today, if I never had been under Joe Caprioli's care and expertise. I may very well have had only limited improvement, while having to accept that the limitations would be something I'd have to accept and live with. I may very well have succumbed to needless surgery, to fund a doctor's next Mercedes Benz. Of course not all Doctor's are suspect, but as a patient one must be their own advocate, and listen to that little voice inside you, a voice that will never lead you astray. Joe Caprioli's approach, attitude, and treatment are exactly what getting physical therapy really means. Joe Caprioli will champion for you on each step of your journey back to wellness and feeling like the best version of yourself once again.

She explained that I had shoulder surgery out of state, discussed medical insurance and asked if they could provide physical therapy to me. Yes, no problem. I had asked to be on the wait list for an earlier appointment. They called when slot became available for a night appointment. I asked again, "any problems with insurance or anything? No problem. The insurance company has approved you. I go in for treatment, and as I start filling out the forms. Dr. Sicignano approaches me and says he can't treat me. Since I had surgery out of state and have never been seen by a NY Surgeon he can't treat me. I told him that we had explained this to his staff before making the appointment and they said no problem. I just felt that I had wasted a week waiting for this appointment. I thought, I guess NY residents can never leave the state. If they had an accident that required surgery they could not return to NY until after they were 100% healed. They couldn't have skiing accidents, train, plane or automobile accidents. He continued to say that he thought that it was unethical for a Surgeon in another state to perform surgery on a patient that would soon be leaving that state. He offered no advice on how to resolve this issue. He didn't even offer to look into it and get back with me. He refused to treat me. The next day I called advanced Physical Therapy on Merrick road and they saw me the same day.

I first went to Michael for PT for my back in early 2016. He was good enough then and seemed very…read moreknowledgeable. He did work me through my pain and I felt better in what seemed to be a reasonable about of time and visits. However the problems started up again 6 months later when I had a recurrence of my back pain. I scheduled an appointment with Michael for the next day and requested a prescription from my doctor. Unfortunately there were some issues with getting the prescription to Michael's office but eventually it did arrive a couple hours before I did for my appointment. However, as I struggled to walk myself into his office, he comes up to me and says he can't work on me that day because the prescription did not specify the part of the body needing PT. Now I have a long history of back problems. Michael knows this. I know this and it was very clear why I there that day, with me all hunched over his receptionist counter. He says I can pay him out of pocket but I will not get this money back even if the prescription is corrected later that day. I ask him what if you just bill after you get the prescription later today? He tells me nope I cant do that its still out of pocket His next appointment after that day was about a week later. So I called Metro PT in Bellmore and they took me right away and said I could send in the prescription the next few days. Fast forward 10 months, today in speaking with my Physical Therapist at Metro PT in Bellmore, he tells me that NYS law does not require a prescription for PT for the first 30 days. Well thanks Michael for really showing you did not care about your patient. Thanks for showing that you did not go in to the medical field for helping people in pain. Thanks for looking me in the eye while I experienced extreme back pain and tell me that you could not help me when actually, you could have.
