This was a horrible experience for me. The lack of professionalism and smell of urine hit me like a ton of bricks when I first entered this place of business. I honestly do not believe this place is black people friendly. The message therapy was knuckle to bone and left me with bruises on my back the next day. The smell alone was disrespectful. It was a toxic strong smell off urine which is still in my clothes. The is not a very welcoming place and the I used a Groupon to see if I liked the business before committing to this doctor. I only gave them one star because it was mandatory,and the Chiropractor was decent. This was the worst experience ever, everyone had an extremely racist energy,they made it clear by the way that they talked to me that I was not wanting. I didn't notice that all there yelp reviews are 10 plus years old on average, so I was blindsided to the fact. But I still have bruises on my bones from the massage, the massage room smelled like piss. And they knew it before they selected the room. It was disgusting, I had to just get out of there, yuck. I have been seeing Dr. Mike at Progressive for several years now. I only go in when something is super tight or super out of place, and I love that I can call and 10 minutes later, I'm on the table. To the previous reviewer who thinks they are out to get you in as much as possible, I've experienced that with other offices, but not here. Yes, of course they are going to suggest a plan of treatment and go over their recommendations, and of course they are going to recommend more frequently (as a massage therapist, I do the same thing with my clients, some take the recommendations, some don't), but you can't expect to solve a problem with one visit. The other docs I've seen make you feel like if you don't come in 3 times a week for the rest of your life, your spine is screwed. Not here! I go in maybe every 8 weeks or so, sometimes even less, and always feel better after leaving. The staff is very accommodating, Dr. Mike is incredibly personable, their rates are very reasonable for those who don't have chiropractic coverage, and I have sent dozens of clients to his office, including those who have had bad experiences with chiropractors before and everyone has been very satisfied with their treatment. read more

I started going to Dr. John probably close to 2 years ago. I have been to many Chiropractors in my lifetime, so I think I have a pretty good idea about what to expect. One of the things I like about Progressive is that they go over a treatment plan with you. Dr. John explained what it was & there were several payment options to fit my budget. When you're on a treatment plan, it generally starts with an aggressive treatment of 3 visits each week & goes from there. This works. It has worked for me & my back issues. Unfortunately, I couldn't keep up the appointments . If I couldn't make it twice a week, it was defeating the purpose of the plan. He was more than happy to give adjustments when I could come in. Sooooo, I stopped going due to my work & life schedule. I really wish I hadn't stopped. Well, unfortunately I have a herniated disc in my neck, which is causing a ton of pain in my neck, shoulder & arm. I came back as soon as possible because Dr. John knows what my issues are. Unfortunately, this was inevitable despite what I did to make it happen sooner (riding a BMX type bike & sleeping on a floor). He has been great. Dr. John also has a great sense of humor. I'm always squirming and screaming because the adjustments freak me out. He give me relief and makes me laugh. Staff is also great. Sue is so sweet & easy to talk to. She'll take good care of you! There is also a massage therapist, Tracy. She does a good job, but whoa...she definitely worked my back hard. She means business! It's not really a spa like atmosphere so don't expect that. The walls are thin and you can hear what's going on. The room is secluded from the adjustment rooms though. I wish I had returned under different circumstances, but I am looking forward to healing. read more

I signed up for a yearly plan which afforded me an x-ray review at the start and end of the year(to show progress), a consultation and ongoing weekly support and adjustments that work with and compliment my insurance plan. Progressive is extremely flexible with scheduling and there is always a positive genuine vibe every time I visit. Over the course of time, the adjustments have worked to mend and rectify problem areas. Plus, they offer roller tables which aide in loosening up tight muscles before adjustments occur. My boyfriend has had back and neck problems for as long as I've known him, and suddenly he was unable to even turn his head. I turned to Groupon, and found this place. I went with him to his first appointment, and was very impressed. Dr. Orvis is pretty new in the field, but that's not a bad thing. He's still passionate about what he does and is up to date on the field of chiropractics. I get the impression that he truly cares about his patients, and wants them to get better. The office and patient rooms are clean and minimalistic, and the staff at the front desk are lovely! My two reasons for giving Progressive four stars: 1) they require patients to sign contracts and pay in advance for future treatments. I feel like that's how most chiropractic offices work, but who wants to pay for future visits that they potentially won't need? 2) The lighting in the treatment rooms is terrible. I don't know what kind of bulbs they use, but they give me a headache! read more

I've had back problems for several years and have seen lots of different chiropractors, but have never had as great an experience as I have with Dr. John. What impressed me most in the beginning was tha they took ex rays to understand the trouble spots before making an adjustment. He then developed a treatment plan ... With follow up ex rays after several months to see the progress. When I lost my job, he was kind enough to work with my financial situation .... That was over 8 years ago! I still love going. I have been a patient of Dr. John for over three years, and I have only wonderful things to say about Progressive Chiropractic! After struggling with terrible lower back pain for several years (and trying chiropractic therapy on occasion) I finally stumbled upon Progressive Chiropractic. Dr. John recommended an aggressive treatment program starting with three visits per week for the first year. I was nervous about the commitment, but desperately wanted relief. They were great about working with my insurance and work schedule, so I decided to go for it. After living with daily pain for so long, I was thrilled when I gradually began to experience pain-free days and nights. After the first year of treatment my visits decreased to my current regimen of one adjustment each week, and if I'm feeling any tightness or pain in my neck or back Dr. John can usually identify the trouble spot before I even tell him!
