THE BEST!!!! Staff is AMAZING and I feel rejuvenated after a visit to see Dr. Cicala!

I wish I could provide a good review and I know others won't put theirs on here and even considered just moving on, but I if I can help someone move past this office, saying what's so, will help them avoid wasting time or money on their journey to success. After hearing another story of someone paying $5k for neuropathy treatment that didn't work. Dr. Ciccala sold them on the treatment, saying they wouldn't need surgery and ended up out of the $5k PLUS having to get surgery. I showed up emotionally spent trying to fix a problem. He appeared to listen and care without any pressure, etc. When I decided to start with him, over time I realized I kept returning without progress, and he did the same thing to address results each session. I finally asked him to review and compare xrays from 1 year prior (approximately) from another NUCCA chiropractor. He kept saying "he hasn't gotten around to it". I finally said, I'm coming in ONLY for the comparison. He was explaining with hesitation to say it was WORSE. I had to say it for him and he agreed. It was my sign to leave then and there. At one point I recall him rolling his eyes when he said people doubt his plan is working. I said, "well, I'm not noticing progress" and to see where I can improve the process, I asked if he had a massage therapy recommendation. He snickered and said "not for you". Another time I asked for a person who could assess nutrition needs and referred me to someone who I wouldn't consider an expert at all. Another service I received there, gave me little to no feedback and when I mentioned that to him, he said "she gives me a lot of info". I would say, the worse your condition is, move on to find a pro. I was at my worst and when you find people to be condescending in that state, says more about their true character. I think he has a good vibe initially - handsome, listens (for opportunity to sell in my opinion) and is a well run, efficient office. BUT my situation was a challenge and although I wanted to trust him, I found he would not have my back, literally or figuratively. Perhaps NUCCA is good, but I doubt it impacts hip/pelvic area at all. Perhaps this doctor and his supporting staff are the best for some. I would say, buyer beware for those with specific needs who want feedback, info and progress. The chiropractic profession has earned a reputation and I've come across various reasons why. He was a bit zipped up so I trusted the process until I experienced his lack of resourcefulness, etc and realized, I committed to his program but he was not committed to my results. Again, he may be great for some, but I find Dr. Ciccala to lack resources unless it's self serving. More than likely I would not have put this review up if their office showed any concern. But after quite a while, I thought I should because others might save their money and time and I don't want to think about them or hold onto this experience. I'm now able to let it go. More than likely, he will roll his eyes like he does about others who aren't experiencing progress. read more

I already had a chiropractor, but they were offering a special first-time customer deal, and if you know anything about me by now, I'm all about a deal. Besides, this office performed a different type of chiro that I was intrigued by: the NUCCA method (basically, no cracking--just gentle adjustments). And while my original chiropractor has been amazing (and I still go there), my neck still REALLY needed help...and I figured if this new style could help, why not? The staff was nice and when questioned, they told me over the phone that they would watch my son during visits, but I wanted to visit them first to get a feel for the office and the people before I let strangers watch my son. It sounded like they seemed a little put off with that, but my son's welfare comes first, sorry. That said, the ladies there are really nice, and after my first consultation, I gladly take my son with me (though the visits are quite short, so he just comes in the room with me). The doc was really nice and thorough in his questions of my condition, and after the X-rays agreed my neck was in dire need of attention. On my third visit (I think it was, after the "special deal" part was over), they put together a treatment plan. EEK! It was definitely quite a bit more expensive than I was expecting (compared to my other chiropractor)--even with the pre-payment-in-full discount option (twice as much as my other chiro's discount plan). But, it's my neck, and I really want it fixed (as much as possible)...so I did it. And honestly, it's working. There are a lot of websites out there saying NUCCA is a scam--and I originally worried about that--but it is definitely working for me. I am constantly amazed at how the gentle adjustments can actually do anything to my neck, but they do (I'vre even joked with the doc that it must be voodoo, LOL). I mean, I can go in there feeling like I NEED to crack my neck (I was a constant neck-cracker for probably 20 years, and it's a hard habit to get out of) and after a few minutes with the doc, that feeling is gone. And I am going longer and longer between getting that MUST CRACK feeling during the week...so something is working. I am looking forward to seeing the results of my second set of X-rays, to see just how much the adjustments have helped. So, I can highly recommend this treatment and this office. Hopefully you can get a special deal like I did to start, which will save you a couple hundred dollars on the initial X-rays and consult. read more

Before coming into the clinic, I had no idea what chiropractic was. Now that I'm a patient, I've learned so much about why the spine correlates to so many other symptoms such as Migraines, headaches, TMJ, asthma, etc. Dr. Shiha and Dr. Cicala do their best to inform their patients about how important your health is. I would recommend anyone to go in and get a free consultation, especially infants!!! The doctors aren't your average chiropractors, they practice NUCCA which tends to hold longer adjustments and doesn't require popping or cracking. 10/10 clinic with friendly staff and patients. read more

I suffered from chronic pain in my shoulder & neck for months with no relief with physical therapy, steroid or traditional chiropractors. I was almost always on pain relievers & slept poorly. After about 5/6 visit with Dr Cicilia I rarely need any pain relievers and sleep though the night. After about 8 months , . I am going about every 10 days. After two (scary) bouts of vertigo last year, I found a Facebook post I had saved about Balanced Living. From the very beginning the kind and caring staff made me feel welcome and at home and their flexibility in scheduling has been very helpful. My body is coming back into alignment. My left leg was half an inch shorter than my right, my hips and shoulders were out of balance. Kind and caring doctors who have your best interest at heart. They definitely have helped everyone in my family from simple body aches, reoccuring headaches and even the more severe; scoliosis. I am so happy with the care I have received. I was unable to move my left arm and neck after an vehicle accident. I could not sleep through the night because of extreme pain in my back, arm, and neck. I was then referred by a friend after trying many other options. I was afraid of Chiropractic care. I was assured that this care was different. After my adjustments, xrays, and feedback on home care, I am no longer suffering with 24/7 pain. I able to my my arm fully. I was very against chiropractic treatments, but Dr. Shiha has completely changed my view. When I signed up at Balanced Living Chiropractic (BLC) I had a dull constant neck pain from a prior injury that I learned to deal with. After Dr. Shiha informed me he would not be cracking anything with this new method of adjustments, I gave it a chance. I went from seeing him twice a week to now barely one a month visits. All around my body feels way better, and as another reviewer mentioned below, I too learned that so many parts and pains are connected to the spine and other parts of the body! His adjustments are quick than off to the roller bed (amazing!) for ten minutes. I would highly recommend Dr. Shiha. The office staff is also very friendly, nice and helpful! About 4 years ago I was diagnosed with Cervical Stenosis, the Orthopedic Dr. Wanted to do surgery on my neck. I was in a lot of pain and was losing mobility in my entire arm. I did not want surgery on my neck!! So I went to Physical Therapy for quite a while but that did not help much. A family member told me about Balanced Living. I was very nervous to try Chiropractic care but I was so tired of taking medication and all the discomfort , I thought I'll just go for a consultation. I discovered that this was a different process that is very gentle and there is NO cracking! I now have full mobility of my arm and neck!!
