(the problem was from a pinched nerve in my neck) Excellent caring staff. They've treated my hyper-mobility issues very well. An auto accident or fall can cause multiple misalignments that pinch nerves and cause pain. I wish physical therapy and chiropractic care were melded together as each directly feed into the other.....Its a shame insurances don't seem to recognize that.

BG: I was in a car accident in 2011 and as a pet groomer, I had a hard time with my neck and back while doing my very physical job. So I started seeing Dr. Adam... He took x-rays, had a nice long consultation that discussed a plan of action on how to adjust my spine over X amount of time. Not long after I started my adjustments, I found out I was pregnant. He helped me feel like a human being again after long days of back pain due to the pregnancy. He was always accommodating with my schedule and was able to get me on the schedule when I had time or needed to come in. FF to now: Once Dr. Adam left the Royal Oak clinic for full time at Align (he purchased Goss Chiropractic and changed the name) I followed him because not only do I feel extremely comfortable in his care, but I also trust him with my baby. As a somewhat recent new father himself, I knew that he adjusted his daughter and because of that I brought my son to him shortly after birth. Now, I live in west bloomfield, and I don't work as often anymore... So the drive to Rochester takes me about 45 minutes without traffic. I make time to see him, and he is still as accommodating as he was before, even though he now owns the practice. His staff is always so friendly, the office is super clean, and I feel very comfortable in my "new" office. I highly recommend Dr. Adam as a chiropractor!!!

I unfortunately, however, will be searching for a new chiropractor because I feel like I was wasting my time here. I'm pregnant and was constantly expressing my concerns only to be told it was normal because of pregnancy but was not offered any alternative forms of relief. I feel like the doctor just did his five minute adjustment routine as protocol and didn't really listen to me when I expressed constant discomfort of my lower spine. The pain is to the point where I am quite nervous to go into labor. I guess I just wish he would have offered to try other methods of adjustment instead of just sticking to his routine and chalking up all my suffering to be an "unavoidable part of pregnancy." I do understand that there are some things you are going to expect with pregnancy but I didn't seek care to be told it was just how things were going to be, I seek care to find a solution to my pain. In his defense, there is a limitation to what can be done on pregnant women, but I feel like this isn't that surface level. I just didn't feel like he actually cared or was listening to what was hurting me so badly. Try the place out for yourself though, and don't let my opinion stop you from seeing them.

I wish I could provide a good review and I know others won't put theirs on here and even considered…read morejust moving on, but I if I can help someone move past this office, saying what's so, will help them avoid wasting time or money on their journey to success. After hearing another story of someone paying $5k for neuropathy treatment that didn't work. Dr. Ciccala sold them on the treatment, saying they wouldn't need surgery and ended up out of the $5k PLUS having to get surgery. I showed up emotionally spent trying to fix a problem. He appeared to listen and care without any pressure, etc. When I decided to start with him, over time I realized I kept returning without progress, and he did the same thing to address results each session. I finally asked him to review and compare xrays from 1 year prior (approximately) from another NUCCA chiropractor. He kept saying "he hasn't gotten around to it". I finally said, I'm coming in ONLY for the comparison. He was explaining with hesitation to say it was WORSE. I had to say it for him and he agreed. It was my sign to leave then and there. At one point I recall him rolling his eyes when he said people doubt his plan is working. I said, "well, I'm not noticing progress" and to see where I can improve the process, I asked if he had a massage therapy recommendation. He snickered and said "not for you". Another time I asked for a person who could assess nutrition needs and referred me to someone who I wouldn't consider an expert at all. Another service I received there, gave me little to no feedback and when I mentioned that to him, he said "she gives me a lot of info". I would say, the worse your condition is, move on to find a pro. I was at my worst and when you find people to be condescending in that state, says more about their true character. I think he has a good vibe initially - handsome, listens (for opportunity to sell in my opinion) and is a well run, efficient office. BUT my situation was a challenge and although I wanted to trust him, I found he would not have my back, literally or figuratively. Perhaps NUCCA is good, but I doubt it impacts hip/pelvic area at all. Perhaps this doctor and his supporting staff are the best for some. I would say, buyer beware for those with specific needs who want feedback, info and progress. The chiropractic profession has earned a reputation and I've come across various reasons why. He was a bit zipped up so I trusted the process until I experienced his lack of resourcefulness, etc and realized, I committed to his program but he was not committed to my results. Again, he may be great for some, but I find Dr. Ciccala to lack resources unless it's self serving. More than likely I would not have put this review up if their office showed any concern. But after quite a while, I thought I should because others might save their money and time and I don't want to think about them or hold onto this experience. I'm now able to let it go. More than likely, he will roll his eyes like he does about others who aren't experiencing progress.

This is truly a one stop shop as you have access to physical therapy, chiropractic care, and recovery care all in the same place. I am a former college athlete with multiple knee injuries and surgeries who is trying to stay active as I get older while dealing with some chronic knee pain and cartilage damage.
