Been a progressive customer for ten years or so, six motorcycle and auto policies. Been pretty happy until I had a claim - then a bureaucratic nightmare. Was told to drop vehicle off at body shop, body shop did estimate that day (Monday) and submitted to Progressive's portal. Was asked for photos - submitted. Called claim reps repeatedly- one on vacation, one has full voice mail. No approval to body shop for work Escalated to claim supervisor - on vacation. Transferred to Resolution Specialist - he spoke so quickly he was almost unintelligible, said needed estimate, and transferred me to body shop without ever listening to anything I tried to say. Called back and was transferred to Claims Manager - got voice mail. Have left numerous messages, called numerous times over four days and have gotten zero response from anyone with any authority as to status of claim approval. Note that this is for a claim of less than $1000 once my deductible is applied. God help me if it was a serious claim. Apparently Progressive let's personnel hide behind voice mail, doesn't coordinate vacation coverage, finally got a call back around noon on Friday - estimate process was finally explained and was told vehicle should have remained available while they worked through their process - given the stock low staffing, unexpected heavy workload excuse that has become a stock response to customer complaints. All in all a five day (so far) ball drop that was easily avoidable Friday Afternoon the Progressive estimator called to say that they had received and reviewed the estimate and had called to authorize repairs - so moved up from one to three stars - still a convoluted process that's in sufficiently staffed but at least it's now moving forward read more

They will scam you so be careful, I was charged almost $1000 dollars the other day because the underwriter team added my Ex girlfriend on to my policy with out my approval and I got charge for their change to my policy. Such a scandalous company. In a parking lot while sitting in a motionless car, I was hit by a deaf senior in a giant pickup truck, a disoriented old man exhibiting signs of dementia. His truck was too big for this diminutive old man who fled the scene on foot, only to return once the police I called showed up. With the help of the officers the befuddled octogenarian was able call his daughter and get his insurance information. Surprisingly, he had insurance. His truck had battle damage all around it and obviously he had recently hit numerous other cars. Progressive, his company, ruled that the accident carried mutual fault, which is outrageous! I was hit by a truck, parked in a parking lot, by a senior who shouldn't even be operating a motorized wheelchair. My insurance company had to go after Progressive, which cost me my deductible. Most shocking of all was that Henderson PD let this man drive away. He will, unfortunately, end up killing himself or somebody because he is unfit to drive. Progressive should know that too. It's pretty shitty to get a letter a month later talking about you have to add someone that lives in your house even though they have their own car insurance and car payment. Worst insurance ever don't even waste your time don't be fooled by the quote once you start your policy price will go up

I was super excited when I found Progressive had rates that I could afford being on a fixed income. I live off of $500.00 per month after I pay all my bills. For my two cars they charged me $873.00 for six months if I paid in a lump sum which I did. I then transferred $145.50 to an account each month so I had the next lump sum payment ready for November's renewal. On September 26, 2023 I received a notice that my account was ready for renewal and I was absolutely floored to see my rates jump from $873.00 to $1290.00 if I paid in full, or $1,707.00 if I paid monthly. I had absolutely no claims at all and was so upset because they essentially priced me out of staying with them. This cost progressive both my Auto and Home insurance policies which I replaced with insurance through Costco which for Auto cost me $813.00 for six months with a lower deductible should I have an accident. Avoid Progressive and you'll save money in the long run. read more

This is about the office on Horizon and Pacific. The guys in the office are liars. They don't treat people or potential customers with any dignity or respect. They want your money, and if you are purchasing insurance from a them, they will be extremely nice to you. Anyone outside of that, they couldn't care less about. Careful of these people. They have no character for what is right and for respects of all people in the world. This, alone, is a red flag for me and should be for you as well. An example of by how they treated me at the office on Horizon and Pacific, and how this is a reflection of their character and to be careful of these people - is Howard M's experience in these reviews when he had to deal with his claim. Im telling you these people don't care. Otherwise, they would make sure that their customers were taken care of the way that they should, which is answering people's calls and questions - one part of customer service to paying customers. If I could give them a 0 then thats what I would give them, First it took forever to even gey their service star, they made us go through this underwriting department who we could not speak to or if we called to customer service they couldn't. Their customer service was rude and not just once but almost 20 people we talk to, they were also useles. I had Gieco for the last 20 years and never had any problem and their application was ok, progtressive on the oth hand the app was useles, I would tell you to stay away. Olease gor your own sanity do not get any policies with this company. Underwriting had our old insurance policy and say the end date of it and told us that they would start the policy on the next day,and charged our card which went throug. they didn't they started 5 days later, after we called a few hours later and cancelled geico, Received a letter from the DMV saying that they were going to fine us since this 5 day lapse in coverage which was incorrect because, progressive started coverages 5 days later even though we had no communication with them during that time and then the policy went active I understand a company can make mistake, so I called them to have this fixed I spoke to Dirk and he was ok just useless and could not fix my policy even though we had overwhelming proof, the phone call record, the billing from the bank and their system, the email to the underwriting department at verification@progressive.com where we showed the current Geico ID cards with the end date and specifying that as well as the vehicle registration and photos of the vehicle that were taken when they asked. I asked to escalate Spoke to another person and I had to reiterate my case, She was very rude and would not fix their mess up, so after 20 minutes I had to ask for another escalation to a manager, I was rudely escalated I spoke with the manager who would not let me speak and didn't help me and told me that even with all the evidence we had she had to pull all the calls and letters and she would get back to me the next day. I missed her call as I am disabled and she was also aware of, She left me The following message btw we never went online to do anything, the communication was by phone and because we were forced to speak with that verification@ progressive. I also have the to verification that said, "Our Gieco policy is ending on 6-24 so we would need to have progressive pick up the policy on the 6-25. Here are the requested curren insurance cards that show our coverage dates" this was sent on 6-16, mind you there is no way to call or communicate with underwriting by phone or website just email, and customer service cannot call them or transfer to them. Her voicemail with no return number: "Hi Jason , this is Sherry . We spoke yesterday in regards to your auto policy . I was able to review the information coming in unfortunately I don't know if you remember , but after dealing with underwriting and they went to buying the policy , there is a little video recording we have of those going through and it was actually gonna start the policy on July 2 and had mentioned about you having an advanced quote discount does that sound good and you checkmark yes that it sounded good but you went in and changed the effective date from July 2 to July 1 . So unfortunately , it is the date that you chose to have it started . It sounds like you didn't mean to do that , but that is the date that was chosen to have the account start so I just don't have the ability of backdating that for you I apologize I know that frustrating with the state of Nevada giving you a hard time . I just don't have the ability of overwriting it when that was the date chosen before . And after underwriting, but at the same time, as when you were making the payment to start the policy, if you hope you enjoy the rest of your day if you have any other questions, feel free to give us a call back right now..." I never went on to any website so this is an outright lie. much less it doesn't line up with the billing dates and the phone calls or email. I would attach the email though there is alot of personal info so Im not going to as it would not be a good idea but I have them printed out. meanwhile I am a disabled person, I am very sick and have Addisons Disease, MS, POTS(broken my legs 4 times from blacking out Deadly Hypoglycemia, Spinal fusion and Osteoporosis in my spine, cervical Ridculopaty and CPRS, so other heart issues and horrible Fatigue and Major depression due to the above. I have been a loyal customer for over a decade. 2 months ago my spouse got into an accident and they declared the car a total loss. Progressive was the insurer for both parties involved. I received the quote for he payout by the adjustor after a couple weeks and since then it has been total radio silence from them. They took my car and I have still had to make payments on the car for fear of destroying my credit. Several call over the weeks and all they could tell me was that my bank needed to send them the letter of guarantee. My bank has sent it and the title. Took them a month and a half before they even told me I had to go into their offices to sign paperwork, only after several calls asking about he hold up. A week after, I am told my claim representative was on extended leave and that I was being transferred to a new rep. Nothing has changed since. Now when I call, they see that they have everything, but still, nothing is being done and the representative has no idea why nothing is being done about my claim. Progressive insurance is a nightmare. My claim rep's name is Giana Malone who is impossible to deal with. I missed her first phone call about my claim, then the nightmare began. I called her and left a voicemail every day for 3 weeks and texted her every day in the same period of time, no response. I know she's not on vacation because I did get lucky and she answered the phone once during these 3 weeks instead of going to her voicemail, and she said she would call, still, nothing. I was almost driven to crazy by this kind of treatment. I even thought about setting up an alarm and continue calling every day for the another month, then I realized how crazy this sounds. Then I called progressive and asked for changing my rep to another person. I was told my request will be given to the supervisor named Billy Trejo, and I was also told since it was Thursday afternoon, Billy will call me the next day. I waited and Friday no phone call. I call Billy on Monday, left a Voicemail and the voicemail said all phone call would be replied by the next business day. I waited and Tuesday no phone call. So one month of the nightmare later, I am still waiting for that first phone call of my claim. I am helpless and turning into yelp. If anyone in progress sees this, please ask either Giana Malone or Billy Trejo to call me. Horrible. Just got a flat tire On my way to work this fine Friday. Luckily I call progressive because I know I've been paying for roadside assistance for these type of emergencies. I used the progressive app to make a roadside assistance claim and it stops me and will not allow me to proceed in direct me to call the telephone number. I called the roadside assistance telephone number and wait for 30 minutes during this emergency, and lady named Tina pick up tells me there's a system update, and to call back in an hour or two. WTF! so I pay for roadside assistance in these emergencies only to feel like my emergency isn't good enough? it's 9:45 AM in the morning so I asked Tina are you telling me to call back at 11:45 for this emergency? She says I didn't say that. I say I wanna talk to someone else I don't like your attitude. She tells me she can't do that she cannot transfer me. I need to call back the 800 number. Progressive Auto Insurance: They are liars and thieves I made a payment arrangement with the understanding that the payment would prevent me from having my insurance cancelled. They took the money and the next day I got the notice that my insurance had been cancelled. Spoke to a supervisor who acknowledged that once he listened to the telephone recording that the agent did give the impression that I would be safe. However...The balance due still needed to be paid and I will be given the 'courtesy' of having my insurance reinstated. Was there anything I could do? Pay the balance (under $200) within 2 days. Buyer beware! They asked for my W-2 pay sub and 1099 tax return to prove garaging of my car. What's that got to do with each other? After I paid them they first 6 months payment and accepted autopsy, then they started sending all these emails of things I must do and sign, like admit to have my family member named on my account and me on his. They threaten to increase fees if you did not sign these things or submit these documents which they had made time sensitive, which they used AI to keep track. Didn't give me any option to choose or say no. When I call them the recording would read off all these policy numbers, four digits that had been populated by them adding my relatives and non-relatives to my account. Then it would say, "Which of these are you calling about"? I had only one policy number with them. I eventually got myself a policy with another company, and canceled them. I am writing this lengthy review, hoping it will help others like myself, who are force to wade through these shark filled waters bc we have to have insurance. If we as consumers stand together and read and write reviews, they will be helpful. Some of the private and personal documents asked for should be illegal. I pay for full coverage and the 1 time I need a tow they couldn't get it to me because the company they chose was too busy.
