I visited Zara at the FIGat7th location in Los Angeles on Thursday, January 22, at approximately…read more2:15 PM (Pacific Standard Time) to return or exchange a Christmas gift (shirt) that didn't fit. Unfortunately, I did not have the gift receipt, and the original purchaser's phone number could not be located in the system. I was told that without a receipt, phone number, or account lookup, there were no options available -- not even an exchange or store credit. What made the experience especially disappointing was not the policy itself, but how it was communicated. When I expressed concern, the associate stated that the policy had changed three years ago, implying that I should have known this. As a customer, that felt dismissive -- I don't work here, and policies like this aren't always obvious. When I suggested that customer feedback should be shared with management, particularly since policies are often shaped by in-store experiences, the response was simply, "I just work here," with no acknowledgment or empathy for the situation. I fully understand that employees must follow company policy. However, I would expect a brand like Zara to train staff to show basic empathy, take some ownership of the customer experience, and communicate policies with professionalism and understanding. A little acknowledgment goes a long way. This interaction felt transactional and impersonal, and it left a negative impression of the brand -- not because of the policy itself, but because of how the situation was handled.

I wear a size 12 and their size 13 in jeans barely covered one of my legs. Because they don't offer cash back, only store credit and some of the items aren't eligible to be returned at all I didn't want to take the risk in online ordering again and having the same problem. *also be advised the store credits do have an expiration date* I knew I was coming to LA so I decided that I would make a trip to the store front to redeem my store credit. The boutique is really cute inside, small, and I didn't have any problem finding street parking. There is a pretty good selection of items if you're between sixes 2-8 but larger than that you'll be a bit limited. I tried on several items and most of them just did not fit my body properly. A lot of the fabrics are thin and sheer, the dresses and skirts I tried on showed my underwear so beware of that also. I found the most success in accessories and jackets. I purchase a jumpsuit that fit me perfectly and it is a size 2X. In no other store have I ever fit into a 2X but I liked it enough to keep. The prices are pretty expensive based on the quality and I did not see any sale section inside of the store. A mini backpack, jumpsuit, duster and pair of no-name sunglasses was over $200. Thankfully my credit was $160 and covered most of that. Staff were helpful and friendly, I would consider the customer service 5 stars but I know I won't shop here again based on the sizing, selection and prices.

Instead, what I received was the exact same dress that had been on display in the store. It was not new. It had visible tears, small rips, crinkling, and obvious wear. It was clearly not in new condition, despite being represented and sold as such. When I brought this to their attention, I returned the dress in good faith. Despite the product not conforming to what was promised, the shop refused to issue a refund. The entire situation felt deceptive and dishonest. There was a clear misrepresentation of the product, and the refusal to correct it only made matters worse. This experience was extremely disappointing. When purchasing something as important as a dress--especially for a special event--you expect honesty, transparency, and basic good faith in the transaction. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here. I will never return to this shop, and I strongly recommend that others be cautious before purchasing from them. This place is a ripoff!!!! Be aware!

The owner misleads customers into purchasing dresses by claiming they're custom made and promising matching shawls, but the final product I received was unacceptable. Despite charging top dollar, the quality was extremely poor cheap materials, sloppy construction, and nothing close to what was promised. The organza shawl I paid a premium for looked low grade and poorly made, far from the quality you'd expect at that price point. The owner claimed that the organza material just didn't go well with the dress and made her own decision and made the shawl with cheap chiffon material. She never called me to discuss any of the fabric issues. On top of that, they took back the shawl with the promise of replacing it, but never sent a replacement or issued a refund and kept my money. That is completely unacceptable and dishonest business practice. This was meant for my daughter's wedding that is 3 weeks away
