Now our story, we moved into our rental home January 2014, after being told they would do an initial walk through inspection, and change the locks. No one showed up to do either. After I called to remind them they sent me a walk through sheet to mail back and never sent anyone to change the locks. I tried to be understanding and made a point to be very thorough on our walk through sheet that I mailed in. The house was left to us infested with mice and filthy. They did call the exterminator, once. We ended up taking care of the mice problem ourselves because no one was ever sent out again. Once that was taken care of things went fine until we needed to move out under military orders. We left the house spotless, cleaned all the windows, baseboards closets bathrooms, everything was cleaned from top to bottom. Further, they wrongly instructed the oncoming tenants to move in the same day we were moving out. This resulted in a huge mess, including an incident where the oncoming tenants confronted us. The new tenants moved in less than 4 hours after we left meaning that the carpets were still wet from the professional cleaning. Shortly after we left the state we received a notice telling us that Weeks Realty was keeping our deposit for cleaning and lawn service fees. We confirmed with the new tenants no cleaning or lawn service was ever done. We moved out in August 2014, and now in November 2014 we STILL have not been paid back our deposit. The only thing that these people seem to respond too is legal action, and that is what we have had to resort to. Military and Flight student families please take my advice and do not use this rental company. They are terrible.

We were charged for anything and everything they could possibly think of- $150 for a/c coil cleaning, $300 pressure washing dirt outside, $100 for turning off utilities 2-3 AFTER we moved out ("bc the lease requires 5 days" - even though we had no access to the home), $345 in "minor" (but unexplained) repairs, $530 for cleaning, and a $75 charge for charging us $1500 or so. The vast majority of the items are general home maintenance items, however Remax seems to believe that renters must not only pay rent, but also cover the cost of completely maintaining the home. Jason also did not see an issue with the owner of the home going into our fenced in yard, unannounced, even though the back windows did not have blinds and we have young children. We have rented many homes and have never not gotten my security deposit back (or been nearly stalked by a homeowner) until now. We also own 2 homes that we rent out and would never charge our tenates for regular upkeep / wear and tear on our homes. This is a very unprofessional and unethical way of doing business. I look forward to seeing them in court since they have been unwilling to budge on their unreasonable fees.
