This year's taxes had a glitch on my part with a late k1 for some unknown reason ( never had an issue like this in 35 years ) but Tim was absolutely fantastic and patient with me asking so many questions. I was concerned because it was a big change for me and dentists (me) are not always great with change. We are creatures of habit. Add to the fact that I'm officially retiring this year and I wanted to make sure my taxes were taken care of. That's me with M.J. Vandenbroucke. My entire family has gotten their taxes done here FOREVER, and while I'm not sure why or how this came about, I AM sure I'm terrible at math and adult things, so I follow suit. I've been getting my taxes done here for as long as I've been filing taxes and I love them - they're personable, hardworking, they never steer me wrong, they ask a zillion great questions, and I'm always pleased with the outcome (I mean c'mon, they're not miracle workers, they can't magically get me a bigger refund). Since I've never gone anywhere else to get my taxes done, I don't know how "reasonable" their prices are, but given that my hubs has his his done online through H&R Block and there's no real person to check his work or tell him he's being an idiot and he pays only slightly less than I do, I think it's a pretty good deal. Though lots of you whipper snappers probably have gone the route of turbo tax and other online tax preparers, I'm just not 100% comfortable with that. Until I get there, I'll continue to come here - where I'm confident they'll do an awesome job, and they remember my face year after year.

Roger took his time to sit down and explain everything to me in detail. The second year, however, was not the same. I sent in my paperwork for my taxes. I had to keep calling to see when it was ready. It took quite awhile. While I know it was a very busy time, keeping me informed would have been helpful. I was finally told they were ready to sign and pickup so I set up an appointment. When I went in, they said I just needed to sign and then pay them their money. I wanted to speak to Roger but they asked me what it was about and when I told them, they said that would be a financial matter and I would need another appointment and to pay for that. What!!! I'm in there about my taxes and have questions regarding it and future taxes but I can't see Roger about that without incurring additional fees? It was very upsetting to be treated like that as a client. I won't be going back there. He charged almost $200 to do a simple return when I could have went to AARP's tax sites and gotten it done for free. It wasn't that complicated. I wont be back again to RR Financial and I do not recommend them.
