The first year I had Roger do my taxes, the experience was incredible. I came out owing a lot less than I thought I would. Everyone in the office was extremely nice. Roger took his time to sit down and explain everything to me in detail. The second year, however, was not the same. I sent in my paperwork for my taxes. I had to keep calling to see when it was ready. It took quite awhile. While I know it was a very busy time, keeping me informed would have been helpful. I was finally told they were ready to sign and pickup so I set up an appointment. When I went in, they said I just needed to sign and then pay them their money. I wanted to speak to Roger but they asked me what it was about and when I told them, they said that would be a financial matter and I would need another appointment and to pay for that. What!!! I'm in there about my taxes and have questions regarding it and future taxes but I can't see Roger about that without incurring additional fees? It was very upsetting to be treated like that as a client. I won't be going back there. He charged almost $200 to do a simple return when I could have went to AARP's tax sites and gotten it done for free. It wasn't that complicated. I wont be back again to RR Financial and I do not recommend them. read more

Decided to go to a professional this year for our taxes since we have some changes in our income and wanted to make sure everything was done correctly and we got as much of a refund as possible. Height of tax season and we got an appointment within the week. They told us everything to bring to make sure we were prepared. Desiree helped set us up and enter everything into their computer. Took us 2 hours. We were new clients so a lot of it was entering new info. Then Roger took over our appointment to review everything and found even more refunds for us. Overall we were very pleased with our experience. Roger more than doubled our refund when we did it ourselves. Seriously pay the money to see Roger. He is a CPA an knows his stuff. You will save money in the long run. read more

OK I have to say that I was a Turbo Tax I do it myself type of person...For all the years that I missed a CPA professional advice, shame on me! Professional, honest and the most important knowledgeable. Worth the experience! read more

Roger and RR Financial is a must recommend. I have been going to Roger for years. I made the switch after not being happy with my previous accountant. I visited Roger after being recommended by a family member and never looked back. He is very passionate and extremely helpful. I usually run long with his appointments because we just end up talking about so many things. We plan for the next year (such as buying a car, switching jobs, loans, etc). I have called him on separate occasions with random questions and he has always gotten back to me on the same day. No, he doesn't charge for those kinds of calls if you are his client. He truly cares about his client base. When you call you get their receptionist which is professional but nothing special, I will admit that. Don't judge this business based on that, make an appointment and sit down with one of their team members and you won't regret it. When you find a good mechanic that you trust, you stick with...well, same thing with people that handle your money! read more

Great for active duty military! As Active Duty Army, we typically are provided with someone who can prepare our tax returns.  However, after visiting with Desiree at RR Financial, I wish I would have found them sooner!  There were so many missed deductions that I didn't realize we were able to get.  She was also able to assist me when I sold a rental property and saved me from having to pay any gains. I have been stationed around the world, but I will never go anywhere else.  Do yourself a favor and schedule an appointment - you won't regret it! read more

Desiree gave me some amazing suggestions last year to reduce my tax liabilty for this year. I received a great refund this year when everyone else has gotten little to no refunds. I've even moved to Arizona and still use their services. They are fast and efficient and I would highly recommend them. read more

Highly, highly recommend. Switched CPA's for annual tax work after my previous accountant moved out of state. Had a fantastic, informative, painless, money saving meeting with Roger. He is really one of the best! He is very professional, intelligent, and has a problem-solving mentality. He discussed strategies to best maximize my deductions and is very knowledgeable about the Federal and State tax codes. Rude, dismissive, and of no help!!! I called to ask a simple question with regards to filing my taxes and the lady who answered the phone was very short and rude! If they are rude over the phone with new potential clients they must be worse as real clients! Stay away! read more

I started using RR Financial about 17 years ago. I thought they were good, but just like insurance, you never know until you really need them. Principle owner Roger Roman stated that they backed their clients with no extra charges if the tax authorities had issues with a return. Up until now, never had a need. Then recently the Illinois Dept of revenue stated that I owed them About $1500 for taxes filed By RR Financial for the year 2013. threatening to seize my assets I called Rogers office to see what was going on because of the taxes were only $190 at that time. The state said they never received my returns. when I talk to Roger Roman had RR financial services and he had stated that he would need a $300 retainer to reduce the taxes and that he would charge me $25 for a copy of those taxes from that year. When I questioned Rodger about the fact that for 18 years we did business and he never stayed in that there would be charges and backed the charges for things he should have done originally with the agreement of processing the tax returns his answer was this, and I quote, "things have changed my friend I now have to charge. " You're right Rodger things have changed , Sears is no longer a dominant retailer and going out of business, If you go to a gas station you no longer have them check oil check your air in your tires and pump your gas for free. Air is $2 If you want to buy something inside the gas station you get the privilege of being treated rudely by the clerk inside also if you go to a hardware store no longer there professionals to help advise you on how to get your job done and buy your parts. And did I mention we all have the privilege of still paying high fees for food but we got a bag our own groceries. Well Mr Roman if this is the customer service you want to build your business on going forward, you can count me out it was a people for the last 25 years that helps you to build your business when you left being a CPA for a big corporation downtown and now you're forgetting about these people. And by the way the state of Illinois sAID that I don't have to pay anybody A retainer fee if I send them the proof of that TAX return they will reduce the taxes without me doing hardly work at all. We were looking for someone to help us not only prepare our taxes, as we have been getting killed on taxes regularly using tax software and part time tax preparers, so followed the reviews on Yelp and found RR Financial highly rated. Normally I take reviews with a grain of salt, but there were too many positive reviews not to take a chance on using someone based on a Yelp review. In the case of RR Financial, the reviews could not be more right! The staff could not be any nicer or more accommodating, getting us in so close to the tax deadline. Desiree and Roger were very thorough in going through our return and not only found deductions we have been missing for years, but also discovered an error in our filing status that we had no idea existed. Needless to say, they made sure we got every deduction we are entitled to and saved us a lot of money we would have paid in tax. Their fee is extremely reasonable as well. They also offered us tax planning advice for next year. Intend to use them again next year read more

This "Corporation" is just another rip off tax firm...When I first arrived, it looked like no one was working there, very lonely office, this should have served as a sign of what to come.. This CPA guy who did my taxes was very ignorant and pretentious. I asked simple questions about tax laws and he looked at me like I was an idiot for not knowing. Not very helpful. I wanted to ask him more questions but he seemed not interested in answering them, like he wanted me out of the office quick, I did not have that much paperwork and I got charged more than H&R block. This was the WORST service I have been provided for tax preparation. The staff was unprofessional, office was a mess, I am NEVER coming back and would suggest others to stay away from this typical "know it all" CPA. Waste of my time and money...STAY AWAY and go to a real company that provides real value and service. I think even those liberty tax statues that stand outside all day would be better than this place. read more
