Glenn Frey once sang, "Nobody knows where you are going, nobody cares where you've been, because…read moreyou belong to the city." The image of being a point of light, in rivers of urban darkness, encourage us to think of where we belong, as his melody massages our souls. Souls, in this case, notes a return to an accurate definition of the soul of a thing; that is, identity. The soul of a city is defined by its identity. So for our identity, that which is formed from our aspirations built on experiences of the past, to find life in the urban, is profound. Will you experience such a transcendence awakening of self when you visit? Will the office staff treat you as a part of the motion, the river and channels of positive Urban life? Will your massage be soul shaping? The easiest answer would be that as much as we are able to humble ourselves to explore the questions, then we've learned to appreciate that the weight of the answer depends on our selfs. She luckily had an opening within the next 24 hours that I could make happen and I haven't looked back. I schedule 60-90 minutes with her every month and I am so happy when it's my appointment time! Her space is in Studio Bliss (a salon) and she makes the space extremely comfortable. She will use CBD on you (for a slight up charge) that can help with inflammation and additional pain relief and it's amazing! She will adjust to making the massage relaxing or more deep tissue depending on what you have going on and I appreciate it so much! She is a gem and so kind, and I cannot imagine using another therapist at this point. The online reservation process is quite easy, but as many great therapists, their schedules book up quickly and I make sure to have an appointment scheduled out for the next month or so. Highly recommend!

I filmed the outside of the establishment and was putting away the camera as I entered the store. Some lady acted like I had brought witchcraft into the building and started freaking out at the site of the camera. She just made me feel so unwelcome in general. By the time she grabbed the masseuse, things were not a place for relaxation. I know people don't want to be on camera, but I clearly wasn't filming inside and actively putting it in my pocket. Her over-the-top reaction made me so uncomfortable I left - why would I want to get a massage in a place where people are that stressed out?

It's less of the polished spa-like atmosphere and more mom + pop shop around the corner. I booked online and then called over the phone to ask a question about their hours. The phone call went to voicemail but I was immediately called back by Jason (who I booked with) letting me know he just saw that I had called. I asked him a few questions and he said he could already see my reservation for the following week. The place is located in an old building off Fulton. City parking is available on the street and there is a lot behind the building. Again, it's not a sparkly place but it gets the job done. What I do love about the location is that I didn't have to drive all the way out to 28th Street. Jason was very friendly and helpful. He had me sign a few forms (took 5 mins) and then showed me to one of their two rooms. It was clean, warm and relaxing. The massage was 55 mins long and Jason an excellent therapist. He used hot stones during a portion of the massage and I greatly appreciated the heated blanket.

Shelly seemed to have just arrived, and was frantically setting things up. Once she was ready for me she asked if she could add full body to my massage. I agreed, but told her I wanted her to focus on my face and neck as that's where I was experiencing swelling. She hardly touched my neck and face. She probably spent less than a minute of work there. Prior to us starting, she informed me that her music would not be working and she had a finger fungus. She wore a plastic glove and poked my body the whole time in silence. They make you pay before, otherwise I'd had refused. I noticed no signs of lymphatic drainage after the massage either. With all of this being said, I reached out to the owner, Jamiliah, and she basically told me I was wrong and that I need to speak up. Do not book here!
