We had a great experience with Professional Movers Inc. We needed to move from Charlottesville to DC but my husband was studying for the Bar Exam while I was home with 2 small children. We decided what we needed the most was professional packers. The day of our move, with nothing boxed up, the crew showed up EARLY to get to work. Not only were there more than enough men for the job, but the owner Eddie was there to supervise and pack for the duration of the move. The men were all friendly and honest and worked hard the entire time. It was a busy weekend and I did not have time to pull out all of our valuables, Eddie was careful to pack my jewelry and husbands watches carefully and let me know that he would not label the box-- taking precautions-- since he did not know those that may be dishonest helping us to unpack in DC. We also had some cash lying around that made it into drawers and boxes as we discovered while unpacking in DC. The crew loaded up our own moving truck carefully and efficiently. They stayed exactly on budget to the quote we had discussed ahead of time. We were a bit nervous to see what we might find on the other end of the move- since we unpacked ourselves and there was not much incentive to pack carefully since the company had already been paid. We were very pleasantly surprised- all of our items had been packed with care, especially treasured photos, canvases and artwork. Even my shoes had been individually wrapped up in paper as not to scuff. Our family and friends even commented on what a great job the packers had done to protect the furniture and belongings. Professional Movers were the perfect solution to our move. Eddie is a warm, honest guy and speaks frankly about what he expects. Eddie and his crew certainly live up to their name! They we're on time, polite, diligent, hard working, and extremely careful with all of our belongings. And all with a sense of humor! We had a bit of an unusual move as our house sold in 11 days so we moved to a temporary apartment for 4 months while our new much smaller home is being built. Eddie's crew, made up of Rydell and Chris, arrived the day before the move to load 3/4 of our furniture into the garage so folks from Habitat for Humanity could pick it up. On moving day, all 3 men arrived (right on time) and loaded our remaining belongings on the truck and by 11:00 off we went to the apartment. Unfortunately, the truck moving our new neighbors upstairs was parked directly in front of our front door making it impossible for Eddie to stretch the walkway from their truck across the 5 steps leading to our door. So every box and piece of furniture had to be physically carried up those 5 steps. There was not one word of complaint! By mid-afternoon everything was in. Professional Movers made up of owner Eddie Giles and his crew are consummate professionals and we give them our highest recommendation. You'll not find a better moving company! My girlfriend and I were trying to move her out of her apartment on the third floor and as the day went on, I got really sick and wasn't able to help with big furniture. Everyone we knew that could help was unavailable, so we called Eddie (the owner) 10 minutes before closing on a Saturday. We were so desperate for help because we had already rented the truck and everything. The only money we had available to us was on a credit card, and Eddie immediately calmed our nerves and said he would change and meet us in 15 minutes. He literally showed up and helped us move all of our big furniture down all those flights of stairs, which took several hours...and then proceeded to not even charge us, knowing that we were just struggling! I've never met any business owner who has been so generous and willing to help!!! When we move next time, we will 100% be using their services (with better planning in mind)!!! We highly recommend Eddie and his guys. Their company name really does say it all. Eddie gave us a reasonable quote to load and move (we did the packing) our 4 BR house from Crozet to Chapel Hill, NC. They did an amazing job. If you talk to some of the box and pack companies in town, Eddie has among the best reputation around. There's even a story about, years ago, how one of his employees found a stash of cash under a rug during a move and gave it back to the owner who didn't know it was there. They are honest, dependable, hard working, clean cut, nice guys, and really know what they are doing. Probably a little more expensive than some, less expensive than others. But, I trusted them to move all of our things to another state, overnight. It was a bid job and they more than delivered. One thing to know, as of last year anyway, Eddie deals in person and on the phone, but not really with email or other electronic methods. He's very smart and very professional. Eddie and his crew did an amazing job moving my parents from Crozet to Cville. This was a difficult move for many reasons but the care and professionalism that we received made the move easier than I could have imagined. They were all so kind and patient with my Mom, from carefully packing china to unloading the trucks and placing furniture. They were prompt for all appointments that we had during the entire process. Eddie even pointed out some damage to a dresser that a previous mover had done (and hidden) during the last move and properly repaired it himself once the truck was unloaded at the new place. The price was very fair for the service we received but just the care and patience alone were worth every penny. I can't say enough about this company! Eddie, Chris, and Rondell showed up early on the day they scheduled to move us. They started to unload our storage units at 8:30 AM and by 10:45 had a 10x18 and 10x10 unit, both full, empty and safely packed on their truck. Eddie was very conscientious with our stuff and took great care with even the items we had not properly packed. They got to our house at 11 AM. Eddie and his crew had all our stuff in our house by 2:30. They took great care to not damage our stuff, as well as laying runners on the floors, protecting walls and railings and putting the items in the right rooms. Eddie is the consummate professional. Awesome Company! Eddie Giles and his team, Chris and Rydell, at Professional Movers of Charlottesville moved my elderly in-laws recently. They were professional, efficient, careful with belongings, and helpful. Eddie is a straight up good guy and helped to keep things light with his humor (Billy Bob)- which helped on what could have been a tough couple of days. He factored in that my in-laws would need a place to "land" once the move took place and put their bed on the truck as the first thing to come off. Eddie and his team were fantastic. Moving is a stressful experience and their professionalism and courtesy take the guesswork and concern out of the stress. They took great care in the protection of my belongings, worked fast and spent the time to get things done right. I have a terrible small hallway at the bottom of the stairs and they spent so much time to get my treadmill up the stairs (after taking it apart) while protecting the stairs and walls. They also spent a considerable amount of time putting the treadmill back together once in the room upstairs. Well worth every penny and will use again. read more

What a life saver....We had another moving company move us out of Lynchburg va....they were the worst.... they destroyed my furniture and new home and could not even move a few pieces of my furniture up to the second level ( three large men)....so my furniture sat in my dining room for days.
