Been going to Nick Conti's Professional Actor's Studio for over the past two years now and can confidently say that even on worst of days in class that I may feel performance did I fare longer wanting to be the actor acting no more I can say. That even then on every day after a day like so starting in the beginning I have come to enter the doors of class happy and always leaving with doors excited just wanting more. Not one day has lapsed ever since then have I been and will continue be coming to this great acting class. And been going to Scott Oakley's class now for about a year. I love Scott and his raw yet tenderly pure comforting intensely mother-bear emotions (feeling safe yet pushed and protected by this big brawling emotional bear I feel both literally and figuratively protected as emotionally I am encouraged to try on any one of my sub-conscious masked are the roles characters acting falsely until mask in class taking off I no longer am ashamed to show my world inside out. To simply put stronger I am an actor becoming is me ) captivating and drawing into wanting more out of myself and the emotions coming deep from inside all actors or any human who feels the flow of emotion like waters moving inside us all is being this living human we call being myself is presence true-self is what it means to be in essence of the heart. Scott helps me draw out emotion into a reality that I have yet to be seen or known is in me could be. Always promoting the bravery of experiencing head-on authentic action from the genuine mystic emotions inside lies each and every new experience from the deeper parts within it is always a blast Scott!! And always a Friday at the end of day even though I attend intermediate P.M. in on a Monday--- seven-thirty I walk fly happy and excited open I do the doors. To act and to be. I was already almost a senior citizen when I decided in 2005 to try to overcome a lifelong fear of public speaking. Never too late and all that stuff, right? (Surveys show that the biggest fear of most people is public speaking, and second is...death.) The Professional Actors Studio in Buckhead had a great reputation and so I audited a class for free, liked it and joined. I thereafter studied for lengthy periods with every teacher in the school. Most are sought after local actors with decades of experience in theatre, film, TV, and Commercials. Some of them, as well as many of their students, have gone on to acting careers in LA and NY. Other students became solid acting instructors in their own right. The owner himself, Nick Conti, is a veteran of over two decades of teaching acting, beginning in Los Angeles in the 1990s. Before that, he was a regular on a daytime soap, has done many supporting roles in movies and TV, and voice overs. In 2013, I remember using this very site to look at reviews on Nick Conti's Professional Actors Studio. I was blown away by all the incredible ratings but a bit skeptical as to if they could actually be real. I started attending the studio in early 2014, and I can honestly say that everything all the glowing statements of devotion to this incredible studio, are completely accurate. Though I acted a bit when I was younger, I decided to start out in Franco's beginners class to get back in to the rhythm of things. The atmosphere was extremely welcoming and the beginners class gives you a great foundation in the skills that you will need and find valuable as an actor, as well as in the industry which is JUST as important. I am not in Matt's intermediate class, and his lessons always have a way of getting the point across in a way that is not just easy to understand, but also makes it easier to know how to apply what you've learned in real life situations. Every teacher there takes time to form relationships with their students and they genuinely want to see you do well, which is a great feeling. I have been a student in Nick's classes for over two years now. I started in the intermediate class and after awhile I was brought up to the advanced class. Everything I have been taught has played out in the real world; from what to say in auditions and what not to say, how to request an audience with a potential agent and how to pick a slam dunk monologue, networking with other actors and businesses in the industry. He talks about all facets of acting, i.e. substitution, sense memory, improvisation, relationship, and where would you be without your "W's". And the list goes on. You work with other great actors that take their craft just as serious as you. It's not called 'Professional' Actor's Studio for nothing. We have a lot of fun but when it's time to work, Nick is strictly business. All of the teachers are very helpful in assisting you in any way you need assistance. I absolutely love the three hours I spend in Matt Skollar's class each week. It's never the same class, but whether we are working on auditioning techniques, cold reads, monologues, improv, scene studies, or just practicing being on camera and discussing the way the industry works, I feel like I learn so much every time. Not to mention you get the added benefit of developing a rapport with the other actors in your class and learning from all of them! It is such a supportive, respectful and fun class - and Matt is always stressing that element of play. Yes, we are all trying to break into this business and Matt stresses the need to really be prepared and work hard, but ultimately you have to have a passion for it and have FUN doing it! I haven't had a chance to check out the other teachers, but I attended the showcase recently and was very impressed at the quality of work and all the agents Nick and the other teachers brought into the studio. Nick, Training at your school was one of the best investments I made in my acting career. I work full time as an actor and have done many speaking roles in film, television, and commercials. I receive audition invitations almost daily and keep a full schedule with actual bookings. I've been coming to this acting school for about 7 months now and I have to say it is amazing. Having instructors for the classes who themselves are working actors makes a huge difference as there are times they'll bring in current material to have us audition and learn. I've also noticed that the instructors challenge us each in areas that we need to work on which allows us to grow individually and as a class. Another huge benefit of the school is many of the classes will focus on various elements. So one month we may be focusing on improv, and another we will be working on cold reads and auditions... And then another will be script analysis. The amount of material I've learned over the past several months has made this class completely worth it. I've been at this studio the past 3 years and I don't plan on going anywhere else any time soon. I spent the first year under the guidance and direction of Nick Conti. He's a fantastic teacher and really knows how to push to best out of any actor but you must have the patience not only with Nick but mostly with yourself. If you do that you'll be able to do great things as an actor. The past two years I've been in Matthew Cornwell's on camera class. Matt is a very established actor in the Atlanta area. He has been in movies such as We're the Millers, The Change Up, and Anchorman 2 amongst many others. I've learned so much about myself in this class and with Matt's help I've grown more than I could've imagined. I began taking beginner's acting classes on Saturdays about a decade ago at the Professional Actor's Studio. The instructor was fantastic and helped form the basis of a still-growing acting career. Since then, I've booked TV and movie roles. I decided I needed more "tools" in my actor's "toolbox", so started taking improv classes with Matthew Cornwell.
