Everywhere else opens at 9am and it was 7am and I just didn't want to wait 2 hours. Sublime catered to that. They are like the lighter, brighter, friendlier version of Oscar Oscar, the hairstylists have about 4 or 5 different levels of expertise, all of which you pay for. Yes, this is going to be a pricey little adventure I was very resigned to that. No, I initially didn't plan on spending that much on a haircut. Having said that, I do pay over $100 for a massage or day spa treatment... and getting your hair done properly is like pampering yourself. I had an Art Director cut my hair (I selected the 'anyone' option online) and it did cost me $115... but it included a deluxe treatment, scalp massage, initial scalp massage and blow dry... which I've got to say, for the service and timing, was very much worth my time. Will be back again... and my hair smells awesome... and they don't even try and sell you products which is a huge plus.

I will give you a word of warning though, do not expect to be able to walk in without an appointment. When making an appointment, you will be asked which what level you wish your hairdresser to be at, keep in mind that the price differs accordingly to the experience level of the hairdresser. I usually ask for the a second level hairdresser which costs me $75 which includes blow drying and straightening. Upon arrival, you will be offered a tea or coffee and biscuit. You will then get a relaxing massage before the hairdresser begins cutting away. Whenever I have asked my hairdresser questions relating to products for my hair, she has been very helpful and it is clear she knows what she is talking about. I never feel like I am being pushed to buy a product also, she is very respectful of that. Overall, I recommend this hairdressers. The staff are generally very nice and have the skills to back that up.

Initially I was a little concerned as the salon looked a little run down compared to the ones i've previously been to. However I was impressed by the price and general quality of my cut and dry. I would have rated it higher, however on two occasions I have felt that the hairdresser I've spoken to had a real attitude. To be frank she was uncomfortable to deal with and a little abrasive. In saying that I tend to make last minute bookings. It is on a busy road with parking available at the nearby Coles. If you're looking for a nice cut on a budget, give it a shot.

It freaks me out, I sit there anxious and 90% of the time I leave hating my hair (I get attached to the length.) Not at Barber Queen! Helena is fantastic and made me feel at home. The salon is very simple, warm, and welcoming. I got a wash and treatment done and the treatment she used worked better than any other I've had done, and it smelled great! Then it came time for the cut. Before she even looked at the scissors she was asking me what I wanted done, thoroughly checking that I was ok with home much was coming off, and making suggestions about layering. She even explained the difference different kinds of layers would make! Thorough out the cut she was constantly checking that I was happy with everything she was doing. Her assistant then blow dried it, she was so gentle I barely felt her brushing it! The experience was totally painless and I left loving my hair and feeling fabulous!

But after reading Ellia C's review, I thought I'd give them a go. I really wanted to find a hairdresser closer to home, and not have to pay exorbitant prices like some of the other salons around. I took a a chance on a Tuesday afternoon and walked in to the salon hoping they could do a hair cut. Helena came to my rescue! She's such a lovely, lovely person, and me me feel at home straight away. She talked to me at length about what I wanted done, and also listened when I complained about my previous bad experiences. She made me feel so comfortable, that I was happy for her to go ahead and cut a good 3-4 inches off my hair! My hair cut turned out WAY better than I expected, and I was so pleased with it. She also convinced me to get a semi-permanent colour through my hair as my hair was looking a bit 'tired'.. So glad she convinced me. My new 'do looked awesome. And the colour really refreshed my hair and made it look all nice and shiny and new :) Helena is awesome! I've been back again and had my hair cut just this week - went even shorter than last time (pixie cut) - and was comfortable and confident in Helena's skills that I just let her cut away. She's so thorough and just completely professional. We have a nice time chatting, that by the time she's finished the cut, I don't even realise that it's been at least a good 30 mins.
