Sensationails is located in Chermside Westfield Shopping Centre and is run by a number of Asian…read moreladies who are great at what they do. For $50 you can get a spa pedicure and gel overlay polish. I love the big leather lounges that gently massage your back while your tootsies are pampered. You pop your feet into a foot spa located at the base of a soothing massage chair. Your attendant will usually give your leg a light tap when she wants you to lift your foot out of the water. They start by scrubbing your feet all over with a beautiful exfoliating scrub. After the exfoliation your feet are rubbed with a pumice stone and any hard areas are removed with a callus shaver. Your feet are then placed back into the foot spa for a few minutes, dried and massaged with a rich moisturising cream. The gel overlay polish is my favourite because it doesn't chip and it lasts around a month which suits me because I usually only go once every four to six weeks. There are so many beautiful colours to choose from. The best thing about this place is that they have a customer loyalty program so for every third visit you get $5 off.

As other reviewers mentioned, conversation is pretty much non-existent due to language barriers but this doesn't turn out to be too bad after the initial shock. The ladies there are great at what they do and did a very good job. The language issue wasn't really a problem to be honest, however it probably would be nice if one of them spoke fluent English just so they could help out with general questions and conversation. The lady I had kept on giving me constant compliments about myself and what I was wearing which was very sweet and flattering. Personally I think they're all friendly, they do a good job and are well priced - I'd definitely go back there again.

I really do hate leaving negative reviews, however this place failed on such a monumental scale…read morethat 24 hours later I am actually in physical pain. I normally do my own mani/pedi and opted to get a pedi here as I was simply walking past and saw they had a $35 pedicure deal going and I am leaving on my second honeymoon tomorrow so I thought it would be perfect and save me some time. I was so, so wrong. I asked if gel polish would be extra and was told yes it is $10 more. That's fine it's worth it for polish that doesn't chip. I, like many other women love getting pampered from time to time, a manicure, pedicure, massage, etc... That's ME time, I want to be able to chill out. My nail tech came in with her (2? Year old) child and started doing my nails, the child was incredibly poorly behaved. She grabbed tools to do my nails from an OPEN autoclave bag, so who knows how many people those have been reused on. Her child constantly pulled on her arm while she was cutting back the edges of my toenail (which really didn't need doing, now it's probably going to get ingrown!) and proceeded to physically cut me. To which she just ignored that it had happened. Great, now I probably have HEP from your non sterile equipment. She then put my bleeding toe into the water before I could do anything about it. It wasn't a huge cut, but still my blood is all through their drains now and who knows how many other people they have done this to and given that they didn't even autoclave their equipment I highly doubt they clean out heir foot spa pumps. After cutting one toe the lady then started on my other foot. Her son scrambled onto the chair beside me and she told me to play with him. I really didn't want to be an asshole to a small child so I put down my phone and humoured him. But I'm sorry, why the hell am I PAYING to babysit your child?!??!!!! I am NOT a kid person, much less a kid person when they are grabby and obnoxious and shoving their mothers phone literally in my face! After that I then was directed to the nail station where the nail tech awkwardly painted my nails under the table while i rested my foot on her knee, personal space? While she we doing this her child grabbed two stools and began ramming them into each other across the entire length of the shop. As it was under the table and I was seriously pissed off and distracted I really couldn't see just how terrible of a job she had done until she was finished. The polish is patchy, not fully set in places and already coming off less than 24 hours later. To add insult to injury (literally) I was charge $50 after being quoted $45 as she claimed removing my existing polish was extra. "Sorry for not saying" yeah... Sure you are sorry. So I attempted to go for s run tonight before I leave for Hawaii and found after one Km that she had not filed the edges of my nails or painted the edge, so they were so sharp on the corners I now have blisters where the smaller toes sit beside the bigger ones, and where she cut my big toe open is swollen and incredibly sore. I guess my second honeymoon is going to be a no hiking experience. Thanks fashion nails, you cheap dishonest crooks.

For some reason I want the full service experience in a beauty salon, but as long as the prices are…read moreright I'm content with pretty much no customer service at all in a nail salon. Fashion Nails is a get in / get out nail salon experience. Due to the language barrier social chit chat is non existent, and the Chinese music videos that play on repeat are loud enough to discourage any even if you do speak Mandarin. The prices are good, the work is good, and from what I saw the place is fairly clean. I do always get freaked out by nail fungus in these places, however I didn't take any unwanted guests home with me so I'm assuming it's all OK.

I just had the most wonderful relaxing afternoon at Sole Indulgence, run by Carolyn Stone, who…read morespecialises in reflexology, pedicures and manicures and podiatry. I treated myself to a half hour Reflexology session ($30) and then the Classic Pedicure ($50), and was in there for over an hour and a half! Sole Indulgence is a home based business, however the treatment room is very professional looking and it's a very quiet area, so it was very peaceful in the room. It's only just down the road from the Aspley Coles Supermarket, but you don't have to battle shopping centre parking at Sole Indulgence. There's a parking space in the driveway for customers and plenty of street parking. The room is clean and professional looking, and the chair is specially for foot treatments - you lay back, with the chair supporting your lower back and your feet are elevated. This chair is soooo comfortable, before Carolyn even touched my feet, I was feeling relaxed and could have totally fallen asleep. She started with the reflexology, which was a soothing massage. I was so relaxed, I almost dozed a couple of times. I had mentioned an occasional sore shoulder and she said she could feel it in my feet, but also some neck pain on the other side - which is actually true, I often get pain in my left side of my neck if I sleep on that side! The pedicure was a much gentler experience then some of those Nail bars/foot spas in shopping centres. There was no cheese-grater used on my heels, rather it was gently buffed off. As Carolyn also works at The Podiatry Point in Stafford, all of her pedicure equipment is sterilised and individually packaged. So no sharing nail clippers between customers! The products used at Sole Indulgence are all chemical-free where possible and certified organic essential oils in the creams. I will definitely be going back to Sole Indulgence again on a regular basis. My feet look and feel fantastic and the prices are very reasonable for the level of service you're getting. Appointments can be made Tuesday, Thursday and Friday between 9am-5pm, late night on Thursdays until 7pm. Saturday morning too by appointment only. Currently they don't have EFTPOS or credit card facilities but you can pay by direct deposit, or cash.
