Behind the counter vegetables
Sue B.

Great and affordable produce and plants! Many of the vegetables you may be looking for are behind the counter (as pictured). Keep in mind portions are sometimes overwhelming for a household of one (or two), but still often for a lower price than you'd pay for half the produce. Tip: parking lot of almost always full, so be prepared to street park or wait.

I am so happy we went here! My dad is currently living around the corner and we wanted some groceries for dinner so we thought we would swing by, I am very into markets. This was such a great deal and just fresh produce and flowers at a great price! If I lived here this is where I would do all my grocery shopping! We got : 2 bags of lettuce, black berries, big bag of clementines, grape tomatoes $11 Can't beat it !

$8.50 for the orchid!

Just got back from produce junction after not going for years! What a place..I bought mangoes, limes, an orchid, bananas, cilantro and eggplant! What a great spot for amazing produce/flowers at great prices. They have a dozen roses for $6.00 which is amazing in vibrant colors of red, pink, peach and white..there is NO excuse for a man to not bring fresh flowers on a first date or simply as a nice treat for his lady especially at prices like that (sorry just went on a man bashing rant lol). The only draw back was the line and having to pay for certain items at certain areas. Some of the people were pretty rude cutting in front of me in line esp. the older ladies! The staff that I encountered were nice and quickly got the line moving. All the fruit and vegetables that I bought were fresh and taste amazing. Can't wait to go back again and again...forget Acme/trader joes for items like these.

Great quality and prices. Pictured: 3 lbs bell peppers, 3 lbs tomatoes, 2 lbs of kale, 6 scallions, 2 bunches cilantro, and 2 lbs of lettuce

Love it here! I only get my produce here as it's always more affordable than the supermarkets & they tend to have exotic fruits and veggies

Yes we do

Do they carry any Organic produce?

Organic produce can be hit or miss there. Sometimes they have organic and it really varies. I wouldn’t say they have a huge selection. But I am pleasantly surprise when I do find something organic. If you are truly looking for 100% organic I would…

On of Germantown's many hidden gems. Saturday farm market during the summer is defitinely worth a…read morevisit, although my advice is to get there early for better selection of produce. The place is popular, for very good reason. The nursery for garden plants and shrubs (with a speciality in native species) is also a great resource, particularly with Amanda's helpful advice. There's a one-day winter market, too, which is coming up in a few weeks as I write this.

So this place has become a staple for us. We go every Saturday at 9 to beat the crowd. We pick up…read moreour things and then get a coffee. It's like second nature now. The little tomatoes are the best thing I've had here. I don't know what's different about them but they almost have a slight sweetness. But really I've never gotten anything bad here. The Bread loafs they have are great. The pizza dough is too. You just need to use it and not let it explode in the fridge. I did that. More than once. I'm an idiot. Everyone that works the stand is super nice and helpful. They are always down to make suggestions on how to use what you buy. Now my favorite part is the coffee. They rotate their small coffee companies. Not sure if it's on purpose but I love it. It's a great way to sample local coffee shops. Sometimes it's out front with a truck and sometimes it's out back with a tent. In the back there is a small area you can sit and hang. We can't get enough of this place AND YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE TO.

Perfect service if you're car-less, in an apartment, live in the city!…read more My husband and I don't have a car to haul a tree home, we also live on the 2nd story of a row home - we didn't have a tree last year for these reasons and we were both bummed about it. This year I thought, maybe there's a service that will deliver a tree for you? Googled it and found Mike's company. I think it can look a bit pricey when compared to picking out your own tree, but the price is warranted as they are delivering and setting up the tree for you - and it's obvious that they groom the tree prior to delivery for a perfect shape. They also cut the stump right in front of your home so it is as fresh as can be. Mike was so friendly and helpful, carrying it up the stairs for us and giving us tips on watering it for prime freshness. The tree (pictured) is absolutely perfect (delivered on 30-NOV and still looks great) and I will definitely be using them again next year!

There are not as many places/street corners that sell Christmas trees like they used to; they used…read moreto be all over. That being said, I googled places in Philadelphia that sold trees and came upon The Christmas Tree Stand as an option. It was 1 of 3 options listed without having to drive around searching or driving too far. The space where they are on Front street is a small space compared to other tree selling places I've been to in the past. However, they had a nice selection. My only concern was that their prices were considerably high compared to what I am used to. I have never paid $150 plus tax for an 8' tree. And I have been buying them for years to compliment our tall ceilings. I asked about delivery and that was an addl $199. Wow! So I took my tree with me. As I was too lazy to drive to another part of town 30 minutes away to see if they had just as good or better trees for a lesser price, I went ahead and purchased a tree. She is really beautiful, but overly priced for what I am used to from other places that are just as good. There was only one person working and he was really kind and helpful. So, they do have good customer service. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be returning there next year unless I can't find what I want elsewhere.
