Then I found out that DeSoto had an Urgent Care of Kansas clinic that opened in my hometown of De Soto, and I decided to give it a chance, though I was still incredibly anxious and skeptical. From the moment I met Dr. Saboor Rashid, the experience was different. He didn't just listen to my long list of symptoms; he really listened. He was attentive and took the time to examine me. He confidently diagnosed my issue and assured me, "I know what that is, we're going to fix it." When I left the office, still filled with doubt, I returned to ask him to confirm my diagnosis. His compassionate response, "Let's not worry about the diagnosis--take the medicine and come back to your next appointment. I do believe you," was exactly what I needed to hear. Just as he predicted, I started getting better. He has since put me on a path to healing, and my chronic conditions are improving. The severe rash that tormented me for so long is finally gone. My arthritis is under control. I'm looking into different ways to lose weight. I have also been able to get off medications like Xanax, pain pills, and Suboxone. It isn't just Dr. Rashid who makes this place special, although he could be, is that amazing. Tony, who man's the front desk,( I do need to set an appointment) answers phone calls, provides technical support with the tablets and is right on with his ability to handle insurance and patient questions all while keeping everything else in order to not once has shown if he was frustrated or makes me feel like I'm annoying if I ask questions. He is amazing. In all my visits to both the De Soto and Gardner offices, I have yet to encounter a single person who is rude or condescending. The entire staff is knowledgeable, truly wants to help, and will help. I've never trusted a doctor more and can't recommend this clinic enough. When my kids need urgent care, who are 4 and 5 years old; one of them has a brain injury, they come here too. I can't give this place enough stars and I'm not exaggerating if you're looking for a new primary care doctor or you just need to get urgwn, this is the place to be you won't find a better team! While I was hospitalized at Overland Park Regional Medical Center last year Dr. Adam Kaye did the…read moresurgical procedure to insert a central catheter line (perma-port) to be used as an easy intravenous access site during my upcoming chemo treatments. It's a very quick and simple procedure, but not without some risk because the surgeon needs to be careful that the wires that are part of the apparatus don't actually touch the heart muscle as it's being inserted. In this case everything went fine and there were no problems with the insertion. Approximately a year later the perma-port stopped working properly, and I had completed the chemo treatments, so I had Dr. Kaye remove it at the beginning of April. This was another relatively simple procedure, done at the Overland Park Surgery Center under local anesthesia. It did involve a bit more tugging and pulling than I anticipated, but there was nothing painful about it. My only subsequent concern was that a good-sized lump developed afterwards under the incision that was fairly tender to the touch and looked bruised. Follow-ups with Dr. Kaye (a really nice, cheerful guy, by the way) were reassuring -- sometimes after this kind of procedure where there's a remaining pocket under the skin, where the port had been located, fluid can accumulate during the healing process. There was no infection, the small incision itself has healed nicely, and a month or so later the lump is now considerably smaller as the fluid is being reabsorbed and it's no longer tender. I just saw Dr. Kaye again to check, and he recommended hot compresses on the site to accelerate the shrinking of the remaining lump. That's certainly no big deal to do! I appreciate Dr. Kaye's accessibility and his willingness and ability to explain what was going on, both before the procedure and during the healing process. I've been fortunate to have never had any other surgeries, but that means that I didn't know exactly what to expect at each stage and Dr. Kaye's been good about explaining what I needed to know. Considering this experience, I'd be happy to have Dr. Kaye again as my surgeon if I ever need to have something done, and I can recommend him to others who may need surgery.

She did not take my concerns very seriously as stated. I was called simply to be insulted and informed that I was lying, as patients are always informed of this late cancellation policy. This is the WORST neurologist office I have ever been to, I'll go elsewhere! Please please read negative reviews before making your decision. You'll see a pattern. After having a great experience during my ER visit, at Menorah hospital I put trust in who they referred. My first experience with Johnson County Neurologist was the scheduling. The wait time I was given was over a month even though I stated ER needed me to be seen in 2 days. Glad I didn't die waiting for my appointment. (SMH) This is the same amount of time a patient is given without any ER visit. My second experience was with the neurologist herself, Dr. Younger, who did nothing more than what the hospital had done over a month before with the addition of scheduling a MRI, blood & Nerve test. She's the furthest thing from empathetic while trying to convince you to take prescription meds stating "it's a fun little drug". The location she selected for my MRI was a month out. Thanks to my PCP two weeks later I found an imaging center that got me seen in 2 days. It would have been the same day but they waited all day for the referral to be faxed over by Dr. Youngers office. The nerve test referred to me was with her colleague Dr Clark. Which AGAIN I had to wait yet another month. At this point it was clear this office doesn't care about finding answers for its patients in any timely manner. The day before my appointment I received a call from their office. The call was very short, ONLY stating that I had two appointments back to back and start times. This was the same info I previously confirmed from their text. There were no further details given including any cancellation policy. Living over 35 minutes away being told, if late your appointment will be canceled, would be remembered. On the day of my appointment it was storming, even leaving my house 10 minutes early, unpredictably I had to wait in multiple traffic accidents, and slow downs due to the storm. When I arrived at their location lo and behold no parking as always bc it's shared with the whole hospital. By the time I found parking and rushed in during the storm I was 10 minutes late. The front desk lady took her sweet time, a few minutes later informed me I possibly wouldn't be able to see the doctor because my appointment started at 9:40. I looked back down at my phone the time it was exactly 9:52. (Keep in mind this after the couple of minutes that she wasted) Upon checking (now 9:53) she said Dr. Clark stated he didn't have enough time to do my appointment. With having back to back appointments I of course requested to reschedule them as I wasn't going to wait around for almost an hour because Dr. Clark felt that a "40 minute procedure" (Kim Pratt's words) couldn't be completed in that little of time... (47 minutes) AGAIN they couldn't get me in for a month and a half. I'm expected to wait, continuously having issues that put me in the ER in the first place, until mid August now. That's 4 months just wasted on WAITING! Of course I shouldn't of been surprised when she had me waiting around another 10+ minutes while "rescheduling" my appointments. Something that took 2 minutes the last two times. Seems very odd! I also find it awkward how they conveniently have enough time to waste our time as patients. When you arrived on time you're expected to wait over 15 minutes in the room to see the doctor. Which is another thing I experienced on my first visit. I had waited OVER 15 minutes from the time the nurse left the room until the time the doctor came in. Yes, but me being 10 minutes late, as I'm not willing to kill myself to get there, will throw EVERYONES day off -- again Kim Pratt's words. Complete rubbish! There's no true concern here for the patients, their time, what they're going through, or actually finding out answers.
