He wrote a quote in my chart that was something I NEVER said, and then made a faulty diagnosis based on those words that I never said - for a condition that psychiatrists don't even treat, therapists do. When I saw this, I was concerned and followed up with my therapist about this diagnosis, which enraged Dr. Uddin and he stormed out of the office during our 3rd meeting and I had to have several talks with his attending physician who picked up the pieces from his awful treatment of me and refusal to consider that he had made a mistake in - again, I repeat for emphasis - putting something in my chart that I never said, after meeting me once for 15 minutes, and his notes were timestamped 2 hours after I had seen him so he clearly entered it from memory and made it up as he typed it, and then used that made up quote to justify a diagnosis for a condition that is treated in therapy, a condition my therapist (who i met with for 50 minutes every week for 2 years, and who has been a practicing psychologist for nearly 20 years vs Dr. Uddin being in his residency at the time, that is LITERALLY IN TRAINING and asserting that his expertise was greater than hers on a condition that is actually more within her scope of practice) says that not only do I not have, but that is a gross misdiagnosis. When confronted he threw a tantrum and stormed out of the office, but only after waffling through contradictory excuses such as "it was a typo" yet refusing to amend the chart for his admitted typo. Dealing with Dr. Uddin's ego disrupted the care I was seeking as my appointments became about managing his ego rather than seeing me as a patient. How can a psychiatrist treat a patient if he will not listen to and hear them, and if he puts his assumptions about a person on a pedestal? Not only did he do that, but when he took over my care (due to being seen by KU Med my care team changed every year as residents rotated through clinicals) he arbitrarily changed me off of a drug I had been on for 2 years because he just preferred the other drug, and the drug he switched me to was a different class than the drug it was replacing - and that drug class caused horrible side effects for me that landed me in the hospital for a full week. Avoid this practitioner at all costs. It has taken 2 years to get back on track with my care after the work that needed done correcting his negligence. This man has no business being trusted for your mental health care

They need immediate help. He was referred to this practice by another doctor who could not see him because he was not a drug user. I've been very pleased with the care I've gotten from Dr. Menninger, especially in managing my medication. He was extremely helpful and concerned when I developed tardive dyskinesia (TD) from Abilify, which had been prescribed by my former doctor. It turned out I had been taking it at a high dose for quite a long time, and Dr. Menninger thought I should discontinue it. When I did, the TD symptoms showed up (involuntary mouth and facial movements that were obvious and annoying). He's been very good about working with me and my neurologist in coordinating care as I've been treated for the TD symptoms. Dr. Menninger is cautious and conservative when it comes to medication, which I very much appreciate after my experience with Abilify. I see him regularly, although only every few months, to check in on how things are going with my medications. These are short appointments and somehow there's no co-payment for them with my medical plan, so I certainly like that! During appointments Dr. Menninger takes his notes on his computer as he goes along. It seemed odd, at first, as I wasn't used to that, but now I don't notice it, and being "connected" Dr. Menninger can rapidly find and print out studies and articles on various issues for you while you're sitting in his office, which is very handy. All in all, definitely recommended!

I'm not really sure what the real reason was. I felt abandoned and fired and she worked for me! She suggested seeing a different office, one I had left to see her because they were lacking. I would have liked an honest opinion but felt as if I was being brushed off. So now I sit trying to work through my issues and suicidal thoughts that come and go. Poor care experience in IOP. No followup when asked for contact regarding child's lack of progress…read more Blamed caseloads which doesn't make sense due to the fact IOP is a set size and should include follow-up with parents. Child "graduated" from IOP despite there being no sustained change and higher depression and anxiety scores on screening tool at "graduation" than intake. At graduation the therapist asked if we had a therapist even though she spoke to our therapist the week before. It's clear she wasn't familiar with my child's case despite weeks of "treatment". Poor admin, billing, and front desk practices. I provided my insurance card three separate times because they didn't have a record of it. A year later I was billed for sessions they didn't submit to insurance on time which I have been disputing for months but no one seems able to understand the issue exists on their end. Took multiple calls and portal messages for someone to final respond about the billing dispute. This place deserves its poor ratings. I only wish I would have looked at reviews before investing the time and money into something poorly run and ineffective.

For a couple of years I was prescribed a fairly high dose of Abilify. When I switched doctors the…read morenew one discontinued it. At that point I discovered that I had developed tardive dyskinesia (TD --involuntary movements of the mouth and facial muscles) caused by the Abilify. While not the world's most debilitating disability it was very annoying and did interfere with things like eating, talking and sleeping. I was a very unhappy camper, believe you me! I was referred to Dr. Muhammad Nashatizadeh, a neurologist specializing in movement disorders, with offices at Overland Park Regional Medical Center. I have been seeing him since last year and have been extremely pleased with my experience and highly recommend him to anyone with movement disorder problems. Dr. Nashatizadeh is young and originally from the Midwest. (No, he doesn't speak with an accent -- he's a nice Kansas boy, from Emporia, I understand.) I was tremendously impressed that as a medical specialist he had the time to take nearly an hour with me on our first visit to go over my medical history, examine the symptoms carefully and thoroughly, and discuss what turned out to be numerous options for treatment of my TD. We ended up trying various things, trying to find the right medication that wouldn't cause other undesirable side effects. As it turned out, some of the first things we tried DID have side effects I couldn't stand (mainly extremely dry mouth) and we switched to other remedies. We've finally found a medication (tetrabenazine) that pretty much controls the movements without causing dry mouth or other side effects. After my bad experience with Abilify I was pleased with Dr. Nashatizadeh's cautious approach and willingness to take the time to follow me carefully as we tried various medications. Whenever I've had an appointment he's taken all the time necessary to find out what was going on and deal with me as a person, not as a 15-minute appointment! I have been able to send him updates of my progress with the various medications by e-mail, saving having to go in for numerous appointments. When necessary he has called me by phone or responded by e-mail, which I very much appreciate! I also appreciate that he's taken the time to coordinate care with my psychiatrist and primary care physician, both of whom need to be involved because of the potential side effects of the medications we've tried for my TD symptoms. Dr. Nashatizadeh trained at Baylor Medical Center in Houston with one of the "fathers" of movement disorder medicine. He's extremely knowledgeable in his field. Since I started seeing him he's been "discovered" and has been swamped with patients, but if you're experiencing a movement disorder problem (like Parkinson's or Huntington's diseases, Tourette's syndrome, tremor, etc.) I would highly recommend your seeing him. He also sees patients having cognitive disorders such as dementia, Alzheimer's disease and memory loss after a stroke. I think you'll be very pleased and satisfied with the care you receive from him. I definitely am!!!

I was hoping it would be the next day, but it was more two days, which was okay. I was told that I could make an appointment. Angie was so nice on the phone. She gave me a couple options so soon, I was honestly surprised. Then came time for my appointment. Emma was at the window and she was very accommodating and nice. She answered any questions I had and kept a smile on her face. I was called back almost right at 10, which was very nice. Now, the therapist herself was amazing. I had gone into this appointment with apprehension and nerves, but Dr. Dennihan was fabulous. She didn't talk down to me and I could tell that she was honestly listening to the things I had to say. She had something to say about everything I mentioned. The way she spoke to me was amazing. I understood very easily. By the end of the appointment, I felt a lot better about the reason I came in and I felt more normal than I had in a long time. I am definitely going to come back, without a doubt.
