Every single time I go there my churro is cold and it doesn't have enough sauce. They have no manners and do don't greet you.

This is probably one of the bigger farmers markets in El Paso. It seems like they have more people…read moreattending on Saturday mornings. I believe it happens from 11 am to 3 pm. They recently added a night market from 6 to 10 pm on Fridays and Saturdays. There's live music on Saturdays. There's a lot of foods and desserts for sale through local vendors and food trucks. I saw vendors selling ice cream (which was good BTW) and baked goods. You also find lots of people selling items they made. For example, soap, art/paintings, candles and lots more. Some of the vendors allow you to sample their foods and items before buying. Maybe I missed it but...the items I would've liked seeing more of are homegrown fruits and vegetables. I didn't see anyone selling any. We came for the food trucks recently. There's quite a few. One food truck I enjoyed was Formula. They offer boba tea, smoothies, ice cream and a couple of other foods. I saw three or four taco food trucks. I've tried Ayy Cucula and I wasn't impressed at all. I wrote separate reviews on these 2 food trucks. We also tried Placeres Culposos. So good here! I recommend their quesabirria and alambre tacos. Their lemonade is tasty too. A separate review is coming soon. Sleepy Sloth desserts are also great! A few were really sweet for me. I enjoyed their cookies and brownies the most. A separate review is coming soon. Overall, it's a pretty good place to check out. Bring the family and/or significant other. I'd also recommend wearing comfortable shoes because you'll be doing some walking. Most people also park their vehicles across the street in the dirt. Be careful if you do! There's a lot of oncoming traffic on Country Club Road. There should be a crosswalk painted there in the street. Sometimes someone helps people cross the street on Saturday mornings. Parts of the market are in the dirt. The last thing you'd want to do is sprain an ankle or trip. I'd also wear a cap and sunscreen, especially on Saturday mornings. Don't forget a mask! Vendors accept cash or card, paper and plastic. Most vendors are really nice and talkative. You might even make a new friend or two. Support local!

Pretty good! I got to taste Healthy Shack's food after a recent doctor's appointment at Texas Tech…read more The good thing about going to Texas Tech is that there's always food trucks parked outside! I always try different ones whenever I go to a doctor's appointment there. I don't like going to doctor's appointments (does anyone actually like them??) but...I always look forward to trying food from the food trucks parked there! Gotta make the best out of the visit I guess? Lol. Anyway... Healthy Shack offers a variety of healthy foods including vegan entrees. Even though I try to eat vegan foods from time to time...I wasn't in the mood when I visited Healthy Shack. I decided to go with their brisket tacos. They weren't bad! The brisket and veggies were tasty. I didn't really taste any cheese or salsa in them. I feel like these two items could make or break a taco. I also didn't receive any chile/salsa on the side! I thought that was kind of weird! It's hard for me to eat a taco without a side of chile/salsa! I was starving so I tried not to think about it too much. Sorry but just for these two items alone, I have to deduct a star. It's sort of like a cardinal sin (imo) to eat a taco without salsa and cheese! There was some type of sauce in the taco but it wasn't like the green or red salsa I'm used to. Am I overreacting? I don't think so. Lol. The brisket tacos came with a salad and a side of pineapple with chili powder and chamoy. I wasn't crazy about the salad. It had some kind of dressing I didn't really like, along with cranberries, carrots and cucumbers with sunflower seeds on top of it. I hardly ate any of it. The pineapple was really good. I ate all of that along with two tacos. There was three tacos but I saved one for Chico, my dog. He devoured it like in five seconds. I would consider ordering a side of the pineapple from Healthy Shack. I think I would only order the tacos if there was red or green salsa with cheese included. Maybe I missed them in the tacos? Overall, a good experience. I believe the owner (Victor) was helping me out. He was nice and friendly. He gave me a punch card in case I return. I don't recall what you get after 10 visits. I had a hard time hearing him because it was pretty loud. Let's support local!

Sometimes you just need something simple and delicious. I wrote about them a couple of times AND…read moregot them to come out for Tippin Elementary's Fall Festival where they promptly sold out. Let me tell you about these combos...and Mr. Combi. 7/17/21 After eating at higher end restaurants I realized I'm a simple-pleasures kinda girl. I like to talk to people as they're cooking and just the experience of getting to know people waiting in line for food. Food truck gatherings are my favorite places to get food from and El Paso has some of the best I've found anywhere in the world. The vendors take the best of the food truck scene here and add their own El Paso/Borderland friendliness reminiscent of outdoor markets I've gone to in China, Mexico, Vietnam, Taiwan, Peru, Thailand etc. The culture here is of generosity, they're proud of their food and they want to stuff your face with it. I found such a market here on the Westside tonight off Paseo Del Norte in the Brake Master lot. There was a flautas truck, Mr. Combi, who converted a VW Bus and drove it from Mexico City. His flautas (beef or potatoes) is super fresh, light, and crispy. The sauces are really good and clearly homemade. I got the beef and potatoes combo ($8) which comes with a soda. He also has one in a cup which he called a riff on Chico's tacos, the Chuco ($4), it had an amazing tomato based sauce that was out of this world. Definitely recommend this place and it was busy with people in line from Hawaii waiting to get their fix of El Paso food. Next to him was an elotes truck. I think they're called Elotes El Rey? And the sons were continuing the traditional corn on the cob and in a cup (esquites) that they learned from their dad. I didn't get to try but will do next time since a customer showed me his and it looked so good. Then there's the bacon hot dog stand, they have the hot dogs where you basically take a dog and add the whole enchilada, or kitchen sink. The owners are from Sonora and are as sweet as can be. It's crazy how much they actually fit inside the thing. You can customize it to how you like it. Definitely different from a Dodger dog, but delicious. It's $8 with a soda and chips for all that food. I can tell these trucks are a neighborhood favorite as families come over after shopping at Walmart and there's a ton of fast food around, but they represent their homemade local food well, so people find them and flock to them. They're also open super late and only gathers on Saturdays from 5pm-midnight. So for the ones looking for awesome food late at night on the Westside, this is the spot you. Come out and #supportlocal and oh I forgot they all do catering as well so you can hire them I guess for events. 7810 Paseo del Norte 7/24/21 Had to come back for their "Chuco style" flautas. They're addicting as heck! Here til 11pm tonight only.
