Here's my lovely ProAudioStar experience: BOSS makes an amazing looper station called the RC-50, yet it's no longer in production. I desperately search the internet to see if, by chance, anyone has a new one left in stock somewhere. That's where ProAudioStar comes in. Not only do they have it listed on their website as available for purchase, they also posted it on eBay. It was a true Christmas miracle! Or so I thought. I make the purchase through their website and immediately receive a confirmation email congratulating me on the purchase of my BOSS RC-50. I couldn't have been happier with ProAudioStar! They had made my Christmas and my life! The confirmation email stated that I would be notified when my item was shipped, along with a tracking number to monitor its path out to California. I waited two days for the shipping notification. Then I waited three... By the time five days had passed I knew there was a problem. I promptly called them this morning to inquire upon the whereabouts of my RC-50. The man on the phone tells me me that it is to be delivered today and that they have been dealing with some email glitches in their customer notification system. He tells me to have a great day and to enjoy my RC-300! Uh... WHAT? I inform the man that I did not order an RC-300, I, in fact, ordered an RC-50. They are two very, very different things. First he tells me that I ordered an RC-300 because that's what it clearly states on the receipt he's looking at. I again have to tell him, no, I ordered an RC-50 and what paperwork did I need to show him in order to prove it? He gets all confused and puts me on hold, and a few minutes later another man picks up and I have to explain the whole story to him over again. He tells me that they didn't ever have the RC-50 in stock EVEN THOUGH THEIR WEBSITE LISTED IT FOR SALE. He claims he had sent me an email right after I had put my order through relaying this information and that he had been waiting for my response. I never got such an email. He pronounces my email address completely incorrectly and keeps insisting he sent it. I work for Apple. I own an iPhone. I know how this whole "email" thing works. I received nothing. Well, that's too bad he tells me. Their website auto-posts items, even when they don't actually have them in stock. So, I paid $500 to a company that took my money immediately and didn't even have what I ordered. His excuse? That the RC-50 doesn't even exist anymore so therefore they couldn't have had it anyway. As if it's my fault that they posted it for sale on their website and on eBay. I had to twist this guy's arm just to get him to ensure that when I send them the RC-300 back, shipping would be paid for. At least I got the free shipping. Merry Christmas to me. UPDATE: ProAudioStar has since read my review on Yelp! and flagged it because they created an upset customer who wants to speak of her poor experience with the company. This review is in no way offensive or vulgar, contains only honesty, and will be re-posted as many times as necessary. read more

I placed an order for a Scarlett Solo Pre-Amp on Sunday; it was shipped promptly and I received it Wednesday via FedEx. The pre-amp I received is new, not b-stock, in completely sealed packaging. I was pleased because the reviews here warned me that it could be used, opened or b-stock. But it was in fact completely new, never opened. They sell b-stock, as they call it, on the website, but I did not choose those products. I chose to buy a new product, and that's what I received, so kudos to them for that. I plugged it in, and it is working perfectly. I could however see how an item they send could arrive damaged, as some other reviews complained. Because they packaged my order in a simple cardboard box that covered it like a glove, without any protection, such as peanuts or bubble wrap. Now to be fair, I've received packages from Amazon, such as kitchen equipment without any exterior packaging, but simply with a shipping label affixed to their original boxes. Amazon and many companies have cut down on packing materials to make shipments smaller, and to make "free shipping" a reality. But those kitchen devices, like food processors, usually have their own internal packaging, styrofoam or cardboard. The pre-amp I received did not have much interior lining and could easily have been damaged. So, this note is to the business: I understand the desire to skimp on packaging so the box dimensions make shipping cheaper and help make free shipping financially feasible, but if a lot of customers complain about damage from the mail, then it might be worth investing in better packing materials and paying a few dollars more, especially on orders where there is a bigger profit margin. As to buyers, the company gives you 24 hours from receipt of the package to notify the company of shipping damage (as outlined here: https://www.proaudiostar.com/help-center#shipping-returns). 24 hours is not much time at all to inspect a package and its contents. A person can be away from home, the package left at the door, and completely miss this deadline. And this 24 hour policy could have led to problems for some of the customers here, if they waited a couple days before reporting the damage from the mail. I think the company should provide at least 3 days for notification of shipping damage. We don't all open packages the second we receive them! So, all in all, I had a good experience, and I'm very happy with the product, and the prompt shipping, but not the way it was packaged, and I can see that some of their policies and methods might result in problems for other customers. read more

There are many conflicting reviews about ProAudioStar and there are even some claims that positive reviews come from bots. You can believe that claim if you want, but this review is from a real person. I do not write these reviews often, but with the kind of information that you can find here and in some other places as well, I thought it would be a good idea to share my experience, and it is for you to decide if ProAudioStar is the right retail choice for you. I buy a lot of audio and DJ equipment using several retail and online stores (Guitar Center, Musicians Friend, to name a few) and some of my purchases were made through ProAudioStar as well. These observations and experiences are based on my purchases from ProAudioStar: * Very competitive prices and free shipping. ProAudioStar was able to offer better deals compared to other retailers (I have nice discount rates with Guitar Center and Musicians Friend). * Friendly and responsive sales and customer care personnel. Although my phone call to customer care was put on hold for some time, they have promptly responded to my emails and helped me resolve one issue I was enquiring about. * Prompt shipping and delivery. My purchases from ProAudioStar included a pair of CDJs, professional DJ mixer and subwoofers. The CDJs and mixer were not packaged in an outer protective box, so the manufacturer's boxes were delivered with some dents but the items themselves were not damaged. I would suggest to ProAudioStar to package and ship our orders in outer boxes for additional protection against rough handling and potential damage. Although ProAudioStar have reinforced manufacturer's packaging of big and heavy subs by using straps and edge protectors, the subs arrived with dents on the front grill and on the side as well. I think these dents came from the shipper's rough handling of these bulky boxes. After my correspondence with ProAudioStar they did their best to help me rectify this issue without unnecessary burden and inconvenience. Based on my recent purchases, I definitely recommend ProAudioStar. Mick from the sales department and Tim from the customer care were great, friendly, respectful, prompt with their responses and easy to deal with. They helped me with my decision to make purchase from them and to address and resolve some minor issues as well. Thank you Mick and Tim. DS read more

I recently ordered a jackson sl2q ht, when it was on a special closeout deal. The guitar arrived fine but I noticed that the nut was kind of jacked up, which was causing string buzz all across and up and down the neck (i checked fret height as well). I guess i received a lemon...now on to customer service...it does have a long wait time due to them recovering from the holiday rush (it is a small business after all). I had the pleasure of speaking with Morayo and she was extremely helpful and upfront about what they could do for me. I asked if they would mind sending over a plastic nut - but they didn't carry specific nuts based on guitar models and considering that the guitar had something wrong with it, she sent me a free return label and didn't charge any restocking fees. Normally, both fees are charged for a return IF there's nothing wrong with the guitar. This is clearly stated in their return policy. Additionally, due to the holiday rush, she was upfront with me about how long it would take to refund the entire balance (3 weeks), which is fine all things considered. I get people have bad experiences every now and then but we do need to realize that we have humans on the other end as well who are trying their best to find us the right solution to our issues. I have purchased numerous things from Pro Audio Star in the past and having dealt with Morayo (give that girl a raise!), I know I'll continue to do business with them in the future. read more

I have been purchasing Audio Equipment from ProAudioStar for nearly 2 years now. I am not associated in anyway with ProAudioStar. I am located on the Philadelphia area. I am an Audio Engineer and use these for my live shows. I have never been disappointed with their product or service. I have been purchasing from many top internet retailers who offer big promotions which are mostly not valid on products I would like to buy. ProAudioStar has consistently offered best price in the market and always delivered brand new items to me. I have purchased Shure, Sennheiser, Behringer, TurboSound, Midas, JBL, Chauvet, etc., from them. Just this week, I have purchased 2 brand new TurboSound iQ15 speakers from them. Came in completely sealed box, delivered in 3 days. Always Free shipping. Sometimes, they do offer upgrade price for items listed as used. I have declined and gotten the products. I have sometimes paid for the minimal upgrade price and gotten brand new product. I deal with one of their dedicated internet rep Andre. He has always been very professional and responsive. One time I had placed an order but the item was not available for a long time. Andre informed me quickly and suggested I cancel the order rather than wait. I am very surprised to see the experience some others have had. However, I can only speak about my very positive experience. Thank you ProAudioStar. read more

Don't know these guys with one-star bad review. But my experience with ProAudioStar was amazing !!! I bought a pair of Dynaudio monitors on-sale from ProAudioStar one year ago and asked them to ship to a warehouse in Buffalo near the border. The brand-new monitors cost me only 1000ish USD. With this price you could only get one single monitor from Long & McQuade in Canada. The monitors work like a charm from the moment I opened the boxes. I use them for musical enjoyment everyday ever since. One incident happened when I was trying to buy a second pair. Because the monitors worked great and the price was so attractive, I decided to buy a second pair as backup. But after placing the order I soon regretted the decision. I thought I should not buy the same pair as backup, instead I should buy some upgrade (say, Neumann KH310) if I need to replace the current monitors in the future. The order was placed on Friday, and I called them the next Monday. A rep from ProAduioStar told me that the monitors were still in their warehouse and had not been shipped out. So the rep agreed with my request and cancelled the order without giving me any difficulty or penalty. They refunded my credit card in full. Great customer experience! (And great price too, btw!) I would definitely shop from them again in the future, and would recommend ProAudioStar without any hesitation! read more

So i was looking for a Mackie Mixer and ran across a good deal for a used unit on this site, i was saying about $75. i made the purchase on a Sunday night, shortly after i looked at the reviews and thought to myself "i've made a terrible purchase." I panic and my first thought was to cancel the order. I called them the next day there was a hold for about 3min to reach a someone and he advised that the order has shipped. He also advised if i wanted to return it to let them know or refuse the package. So i checked the tracking like a watch dog and everything seems to be going as well, the ship from address showed VA instead of NY but i'm ok we will see. i tracked the package daily and there was no delay. I rec the mixer within a couple of days and had a little anxiety about opening the box and thought i should just return it based on the negative review b/c i just knew something was going to be wrong. So i opened the box and see what looks like, when i say the unit was in mint condition i mean not a scratch on the unit and it was a used item. I'm truly satisfied and relieved that i didn't have a bad experience. i can't speak for the other that had problems but i can only say that everything went well with my purchase. I hope they can keep up the good work. i will attache some pic later. read more

do NOT do business with ProAudioStar. Long story short, they didn't refund me after a cancelled order of $750 for over a YEAR (I cancelled after they never shipped my item...). After a "glitch" e-mail sent me a shipping confirmation for the cancelled order about a month ago, I dug into my bank records and discovered I was never reimbursed. Not only this, but it took them almost another month and about a dozen phone calls from me to get their incompetent customer service employees and managers to get it together to finally get me refunded. I was called rude, I was lied to, I was forgotten about several times, and everyone I spoke to was unapologetic to the circumstance. No manners. This is a warning. How is this business functioning. Read the other negative yelp reviews and trust that they're all true. But if you do decide to buy from them, strap in for the worst customer support you will ever experience. Also... something weirs is happening here. Happened on my order too... You buy something from them... then you are contacted shortly after and told for a certain fee, they can somehow upgrade the priduct/warranty/etc. Than you have to pay that via paypal. Seemed normal when it happened to me, but now seeing that it constantly happens, seems a little fishy read more

I've been dealing with ProAudioStar for at least 4 or 5 years now. I have never had a problem. Just recently ordered a Guild F240e Jumbo acoustic. Killer price & one helluva lot of guitar for the money. Didn't think it would be as good as it is for that kind of money. I have ordered other stuff mostly bass gear & a gig bag or two. Lightning fast shipping. Granted I've never had to return anything. I did get a rock bottom price on a Hofner Club bass. It needed a setup when I got it but at what I paid for it that's to be expected. That's true with most guitars so if you can't do it yourself you may have to factor a good repair person in the deal. The various amps & speaker cabs were no problem. You have to know what you're ordering. I don't think they suffer fools well here. The one problem I did have was when I pre ordered an item & it took longer then expected but that was the fault of the manufacturer not ProAudioStar. I do see a lot of bad reviews but I've been more then happy. ProAudioStar will continue to get my business. Great service. Best prices. Just don't expect your ass to be kissed. read more

I ordered a PRS SE 245 Guitar from here. It was listed as used for 27% off. This guitar was sold out everywhere but some how available here. After I checked out and paid, I noticed it still showed available used. This made me suspicious, and after reading mixed reviews here I got worried. Then I noticed all the PRS guitars were listed with a New price and a discounted Used price and I figured they must use this as a sales tactic to offer a discount to attract sales without going against the manufactures sales price that all the dealers seem to agree to. I recieved my guitar and it was Brand new in original manufacture box and gig bag and had all the original shipping protection and product lables attached and not one scratch or fingerprint. The guitar finished looked better than the photo used in listing. This was a stressful purchase only on my part but the result was a treasure.. I give 5 stars, I would definitely order another guitar from them again or recommend to a friend. read more

I'm not sure what everyone else has written about with regards to this company and its customer service. But my experience has been outstanding with these guys. OK let's see...out of town purchase, on-line via eBay, a number of price issues with what was listed and their inventory. Then a few emails later, as well as phone calls, of which I always got through to the agent I was dealing with, namely Daniel. and I wind up with a new rig, under warranty, at a better price point than the Used one I was trying to buy!!!!! That is outstanding!!!! Not to mention the attention to detail in servicing my return as well as getting the rig shipped out on time for overnight delivery to make a gig scheduled 3 days later. These guys went out of their way to keep me informed and to work with me. That is as good as it can get when buying online. Trust and integrity. There are a few Daniels that work at Proaduiostar, and all of them rock!!! Thanks again guys. I will be back..... read more

After reading these reviews, I was VERY sketched out. After speaking with a couple of their reps over the phone and chat a few times, I decided to take a chance on them. (They just seemed so nice!) Well, they came through, and with a bang! I got an INSANE deal on a couple brand new 15" EV powered speakers (so insane, that I was even more sketched out), and overnighted them, which was also a very reasonable cost. The speakers came exactly when promised, and despite the many reviews saying that gear was trashed in shipping, my speakers were pristine. I would definitely buy from them again based on this experience. Best price, and apparently killer service. Purchase date: Sept 22, 2020. (I'm a real customer in New Orleans, and I am *extremely* critical [it's a problem], but these folks managed to satisfy me! Incredible!) EDIT: I have no idea why it's saying I'm in San Fransisco, and I can't figure out how to change it.) read more

I ordered a bundle (2 Pioneer PLX-1000's w/Odyssey case) from ProAudioStar. Everything shipped fast and the price was excellent (best I could find on the web for sure). However, a strange thing happened as I did not get some of the small accessories included with the PLX's. This wasn't ProAudioStar's fault but they still made it a mission to deliver the missing parts to me as a courtesy, working with the manufacturer to ensure I got them. I was one of those rare unique cases for sure, but the fact is their customer service department went above and beyond what was asked to make sure I was satisfied. A gentleman by the name of Muhammad helped me through this whole process, even making sure to call and follow up swiftly with emails. Also thank you to Dan for the kind email when I first placed my order. Definitely will be ordering from them again -- highly recommended! read more

BEWARE! Selective scammers and they use fake bots for good reviews. I ordered one of those Infamous bundles. Only got part of it. They did not return my calls or emails. So after trying to no avail. I decided instead to call the SALES department and to no one's surprise, they rapidly answered my call. The person on the line sent me to the status of your order line where a minute ago no one answered. Gave them my order number and they could not tell me where was the tracking of the rest of my order. Keep in mind they only gave me one tracking number online that arrived incomplete. They did not know my other tracking number and needed a couple of minutes to send it to me through my email. Well still waiting for that tracking number. I think I have enough information to know what kind business this is. Will update if need be... read more

I live in Washington State and I have been building up my lighting selection through them. We don't have many stores with quality dj equipment in the area, so I have to use the net to purchase. They had the best prices on the internet so I contacted them. They gave me great prices and the shipping was free! I've made 2 purchases from them, and both have gone well. For the complaint about lack of stock, a lot of the products they sell are very hard to find so it may take more time to receive it. I do think they need to make that a little more clear on their site and when they are working with their customers, but apart from that, they are the best! They're also a fairly new company, so give them some time to work out the bugs. A great place to purchase from! read more

been buying for a number of years now one and off. you can get some good deals, other times, similar to what you can find elsewhere but can't find at the time. they've have always been profession, as good as their word, no trouble with returns or delivery. straight up really. never had a problem and so I continue to use them for studio gear as I fill in needs. I'm pretty skeptical by nature and I call and talk and never got a red flag so I feel comfortable buying and not being concerned. for some comparison, I don't get many deal from Sweetwater and Alto Music dents broken stuff as often as expected shape. so ProAudioStar being there, packaged well, no issues, that's a rarity for my dealings and I hope it stays that way. carry on, Garth's! read more

I want to write a positive review for this company because there are so many poor reviews. After reading through all the negative feedback, I was hesitant to order two USED Yahama HS8 Studio Monitors, but the pricing was the best I could find. Luckily, I did not pass up this deal! I ordered my equipment on Monday and it arrived at my door in perfect condition on Tuesday. I will say that I am living on the east coast relatively close to Brooklyn, and it does seem like a lot of the negative shipping reviews are coming from other regions of the US. But I do not understand the poor reviews about their customer service team and/or the product quality. I say give them a chance! I will definitely purchase equipment from this company in the future! read more
