He solved the issue I described to him of my Strat's high strings making a sitar sound and notes choking a bit. I appreciate that they got it back to me in good time (1 week). Andres also did great work on a Tele that needed an overhaul; now it plays and sounds great! And more recently, he made my 53-year old Gibson L6-S play better than ever, with great attention to detail on the frets, electronics and intonation. Great local shop! My son and I take all of our 7 guitars from a washburn to an eastman archtop for general adjustment and alignments, strings and setup. we trust them wity our instruments for more serious repair work too! they masterfully fixed puerto rican cuatro that need wood crack repair on the back and they did a fantastic job. I just moved to the neighborhood and was thrilled to discover this cool little guitar shop. I brought my Les Paul in for a setup and they did a great job at a fair price. They have a nice selection of guitars, including some unique and unusual options, and I couldn't resist trying a couple of them out when I came in to pick up my guitar after the setup was finished. I bought a Wurlitzer electric piano here and it's such a joy to play. They have a fully fledged piano restoration business so the action on the piano is incredible. If you are interested in electric pianos I highly recommend stopping in and trying one out. I also love that if I need maintenance done (vintage instruments DO take some level upkeep) I can have the guys who restored the thing come take a look. Received a recommendation to check out Brooklyn Fine Guitars by my teacher at Brooklyn Guitar School and I am so glad that I did! I bought my first guitar this weekend with the help of the lovely owner, Brian. Not only was Brian friendly, he was super patient and knowledgeable, taking his time to show me all the different types of guitars he has in store and advising me on all the different specs and features. He showed me the brand new Yamahas he carries and explained to me the story behind the other gorgeous guitars he sells which he purchases refurbished from a company in Tennessee, allowing you to get access to reputable brands at a fraction of the cost. After showing me the entire range, he let me hang out and play around with the guitars until I found one (or two!) I felt comfortable with. The other thing I really liked about Brian is that he tells you exactly what he knows and is not shy to point out when he's not sure of something- but he's willing to find out for you. I am very new to guitar so while I was able to quickly assess which guitar/s felt right, I felt limited in my ability to select a guitar based on sound quality, simply because I only know how to play two chords :) Brian was able to help with that too, as he offered for Stu (one of his staff) who is a guitarist to play the guitars I was deciding between. I highly recommend Brooklyn Fine Guitars- great customer service, competitive prices, extremely reasonable warranties, and beautiful selection without being overwhelming.
