I contacted Eric DeRemer in…read moreearly July to have some limbs trimmed back after the tornado in June so I wouldn't have to worry about them falling on my house and fence in the future. He quoted me a price of $1,000.00, which after obtaining additional estimates, I thought was fair and competitive. He was initially very prompt and professional and started the job shortly after I contacted him. He completed about three quarters of the job in the first few days and I had no problem with the quality of the work, except that one of the limbs he cut fell against my fence and broke one of the pickets. I understand that that was an accident and he promised to fix it by the time the job was completed. Things started to go downhill quickly after that, however. He left large piles of limbs and brush that had been cut lying in the yard and against the fence. While his excuses for not returning to finish the job in a timely manner were legitimate and understandable, they just kept piling up. He came to my home on 7/16/22 and asked that the bill be paid in full, even though not all of the work had been completed, explaining that he needed the money and would return in the near future to finish the job. That was the last time I saw him. I sent him many texts after that, asking when and if he planned to return. He eventually replied, stating that he would finish the work on 9/10/22. That day came, but he did not. I sent additional texts but did not hear back from him until I suggested that he give me a partial refund so I could hire a more reliable company to finish the job. He replied on 9/28/22 but stated that he could not give me an exact date because he had been sent to Florida to help with the recovery from the storm there. I texted him again on 10/21/22, asking if he had returned from Florida yet, and he replied that he had and added that he would finish the work on 11/1/22. Again, he did not show or contact me. I sent him a text that day, telling him that I expected a $250.00 refund due to the length of time the job had taken and the fact that I had to cut and clean up the limbs and brush he left lying in the yard because the wooded area was starting to grow out over them and retake sections of the yard. Though the damage was not major, I also still have to fix the section of the fence he broke. Despite the invoice he provided stating "DeRemer's tree service is obligated to remove a lead off mr Brady's cherry tree and flatten brush in tree and to replace white screw on fence", I had to hire another tree trimmer to cut the last limb for another $100.00. Unlike Eric, that individual came within a few days and completed the job, like a professional. I would strongly suggest that anyone needing trees trimmed look elsewhere for a more reliable service provider. A job I was told would take a few days took more than four months and was never fully completed. The lack of communication was infuriating. I had to reach out to Eric every time after I paid the bill, which I admittedly should not have done until the work was finished, to ask why he did not show up when he said he would or have the courtesy to at least let me know he would have to reschedule. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau but he also failed to respond to them.

Highly recommended. We hired Ortiz Tree Services to remove a very large Bradford pear tree (at…read moreleast 40' tall with multiple trunks) that was threatening our new house. The price was excellent, and communication was straightforward, quick, & effective. Most importantly, the removal was done with remarkable efficiency and thoughtful care for the surrounding property. There were three small garden perennials in the same bed with the tree, a foot or two away from the base of the trunk, and we were amazed to see that they survived completely intact, as if nothing had happened around them at all. The clean-up was so thorough that the only evidence that they'd been there was the missing tree, some stray wood chips where the trunk had been, and minor disturbance of the grass (which was no longer visible a few days later). The price was very reasonable & included removal, stump grinding, and haul-away. We would definitely hire them if we need another removal.

Several companies wanted to tear down my fence and my neighbors fence and weren't willing to rebuild them. One company quoted three times the estimate of the tree guys but admitted that the job was beyond their scope and referred me to The Tree guy. Long story short, after dealing with a lot of reputable and unrepeatable companies I landed on The Tree Guy. You will definitely pay for their equipment and expertise but it's a great balance of fairness and peace of mind. They are taking care of their employees and your property. Safety was a concern for me and also a concern for them.
