He said Im not taking any reels today I put it on my message. I explained i drove a long way and I called before coming. He checked his message which is obviously different during business hours. I asked if I could just leave them and was refused. If this is the way he treats customers I will not do business with them regardless of whether they are good or not. Maybe if they lose enough business they will learn to be more thoughtful to customers in the future.

He answered every question with enthusiasm, explained everything in a way that actually made sense, and kept the class entertained from start to finish. By the end of the class, I walked away feeling far more confident that I could actually help someone in an emergency. My only suggestion would be for Buck & Doe's to stock tourniquets for purchase after the class. Once you realize how important they are, it would be incredibly convenient to leave with one in hand. If you're thinking about taking a Stop the Bleed class or any of Corey's classes, do it!

Eventually, I did discuss it with the owner, Rex, who assured me that I would be treated better. He even put me in direct contact with a manager there to deal with... so I gave it a second chance and purchased the rifle. As a 'thank you' and a 'sorry you were treated that way', they gave me and my friend (who also bought a rifle) some give cards for range time. Each card was supposed to have two trips. When I went in and tried to use my card, they rang up the range etc, and then kept the card. So I tried to explain that it was for two range visits and explained to the manager what happened previously. He even remembered what happened, and acknowledged that I was given the extras, but doubled down and said "no, you're only getting one trip to range time" and basically dared me to report to Rex. So I tried. I notified Rex via text message that I was again treated terribly,. He was away on vacation and told me that he would address it when he got back. I never heard from him. The other reviews are right. It is a nice place and clean ranges.... BUT... the customer service can be the worst you've ever seen, and the prices are high. Now I can see paying higher prices for a nice place with excellent customer service... but customer service can be as important as the product you buy... and if you're getting service as bad as this place gives... then you're paying way too high a price. I've seen Rex respond to reviews, and in those responses he states that he wishes they would reach out to mgmnt first before posting bad reviews.... but what about when you reach out to the owner (Rex) directly and he doesn't respond? Well, then, the review is warranted. I tried to give it a second chance, but when you're treated badly... and then the second chance is just as bad or worse... what then?

I've had good experiences with SOLGW gear, so when they dropped the Frogskin edition, it grabbed my attention right away. Same SOLGW quality, just with a unique finish that actually looks good instead of being over the top. I'm actually driving from Austin down to San Antonio just to pick it up in person and check out the shop, because this is a rifle I plan on making my main one. The look is a bonus, but the main reason I bought it is the reputation: properly built, reliable, and meant to be shot. These are just my early thoughts based on the specs and what I know about SOLGW. Once I get it, zero it, and put some rounds through it, I'll come back and update this with how it shoots and holds up.

Unfortunately, orders I've placed directly through them for "In stock" items either never ship or are extremely delayed. I've placed orders direct three times. One of those was for an "in stock" lower that took close to a month to arrive at my local FFL (from San Antonio to Austin). I won't even begin on the poor quality of the finish on the lower. Oh, and don't write a negative review for anything on their site because they won't post it...FYI. Twice, I've cancelled other orders after almost a month of emailing and asking for an order status and 3 plus days go by before I'll get someone who tells me "order is ready, just waiting on shims, so you'll have it next week" and someone else who replies "we are doing our best to keep up with orders" but no status. How about some communication to the customer to say an item is missing from an "In stock" order or just email or call to say "sorry for the delay"...anything. But instead, no communication or attempts and after almost a month on my most recent order, so I cancelled and I will not return to SOLGW for anything. If customer service is this way just to get an item, imagine how poorly things will go if you have an actual issue or a return, etc. Really wish things had gone differently, but a hard pass on poor customer service so I'll stick with another brand.

Then I asked her to just please update my prepaid card to the new system maybe through the window (outside) and she said she couldn't do anything without a mask. NSC's ridiculous rules gave her no common sense options whatsoever. NSC took it well beyond the (proven ineffective) CDC mask "recommendations." They dictated you wear a mask inside the giant clubhouse no matter what. Well, I never owned a mask. I walked out while she explained and apologized to me by name, and I've never returned. This really was about the last place on earth I expected to turn communist. Oh well...
