Wow! I am very impressed with this moving company!…read more They were able to schedule my in-town move with only a week and a half's notice, which I really appreciate. The gentlemen on the phone (yes, I called multiple times to update my list of furniture and discuss the move) were always kind, helpful, and patient. My old house was on a private lane with a challenging driveway entry situation. They were able to do an initial drive-by to figure out how to best address the potential problem. Fortunately, they constructed a solution that would work best and be the most cost-effective for me. The movers were very prompt, arriving on time, a little after 7 in the morning. They did an initial walk-through with me so that they knew exactly what I was taking and what was supposed to be left in the garage for Habitat for Humanity. I was then allowed to head to my new house to start unpacking boxes while they moved the furniture onto their truck. When they were close to finishing, they called me to return to my old house so that we could do a final walk-through to make sure they didn't leave anything behind. Then we all headed to my new house, where I directed them on where to put everything. The team of 4 worked seamlessly and had nothing but respect for one another, for me, my furniture, and my home. Once everything was moved into my house, they did one final walk-through to move anything I wanted moved. Additionally, I had 2 very challenging items to move: an exercise machine and a massage chair. They figured out how to disassemble and reassemble both of them, which was quite a feat. On top of everything else, they did not once scrape up a wall or my furniture; they were all super careful. I'm sorry I didn't get everybody's name to compliment; this was such a busy time for me. I highly recommend Happ Movers!

On two occasions within a month, Otis, Jack, and the gang at Happ helped us move the contents of our home (including a piano) in an efficient, smooth, and personable manner that relaxed our anxieties of leaving our long-time house. Five stars is not a high enough recommendation from this thankful customer!

These guys have a lot of five star reviews so maybe my experience wasn't typical. I have a few…read morecomplaints about my experience. Let me start by saying that I thought Paul was very nice and he did everything that he said he was going to do Which is huge. I heard a lot of horror stories about guys giving you a certain rate and then saying well we didn't know it was going to take so long so we have to charge more or holding your stuff hostage to get a higher amount and there was nothing like that. He gave me a rate that was straight forward And that's all it was. Unfortunately, I would not use these guys again. 1. We had an arrangement for me to pay 1/3 the day after closing, 1/3 two days later, and 1/3 the day that they unpacked in my new storage unit. Even though I always paid as agreed or ahead of time, there were limitations because of how much I could pay. He didn't take credit cards only Zelle and Venmo and he had a $1000 limit on each. Mine was 3500. So because of his limit, I had to wait and jump around, Which wasn't a problem, but Excessive pressuring became an issue. I was driving across the country with my three dogs and big U-Haul trailer. For example, if I paid The evening before and I couldn't pay them again because of the $1000 limit and said I would pay in the evening when I got to the hotel, by the time I got there, he would've asked 10 times, "when are you going to pay?... how much are you going to pay?... have you paid yet? ...Have you paid the tips yet? How much are you going to pay for the tips"? He didn't just suggest that I pay a tip to his guys. He told me to do it like 10 times until I finally asked him to stop telling me to pay tips. 2. They left a mess in my house. They didn't finish. They didn't touch the two upstairs bathrooms or the closet in my master bedroom. I had the new owners coming the next morning! I hired housekeepers to help me and my next-door neighbor came over and helped me and it still took us six hours to finish getting everything out of there. I know it was a big job, but they shouldn't have left that to me. One reason I paid such a huge amount was to cut down on some of my stress. And that was a lot of stress dealing with that mess in the morning. And I told them it was OK to stop, but that was because I could tell that they were mad at me for asking them to do more things. Oh gosh and they were really reckless with my $4000 painting! I showed them which paintings were special and they just tossed boxes on top of it. I'm very lucky that it didn't tear. 3. I asked Paul to please tell His guys to leave the beds and the mattresses and my clear bags of vacuum packed clothing near the front of the storage unit where I could find them. He didn't. By the time I met them there it was completely packed a 10 x 25 storage unit all the way to the top and the beds were in the very back. Ugh! I'm going to be renting a house for 4 to 6 months Before I buy another one. I REALLY needed to have access to my clothes, shoes, and beds and mattresses. The English was an issue. Those guys would walk right by me when I was saying something to them. Paul would ask the same questioned multiple times, even though I had answered it. Really just use Google translate guys. It'll make it easier on everybody. The husband and wife team, they hired at the end of my move to help unload Said that they were tossing around my nice antiques. She said that the guy was very rude to her. I saw him glaring at me and I just thought it was because I asked him to do work or something, but she said he did the same thing to her, but he didn't do it to her husband .

I wanted to commend Paul and Great Chicago Movers for being super communicative and helpful…read morethroughout our recent transition! I found Paul in particular to be responsive, thoughtful, and very courteous. Hope you can consider them too - they have less of a Yelp presence but what looks like hundreds of good Google reviews.
