Pro-Holistic Care gets 5 stars on every level. I have been coming for a neck/back injury for 3 months and have improved a great deal in that time. Both Dr. Rea and Dr. Vargas are true professionals that you can tell really care about their patients. They talk to you in a way that's easy to understand and the entire staff makes you feel welcome and valued. Customer service is top notch and the office is always clean and comfortable. I cannot recommend them enough for acupuncture and chiro/PT. read more

More than 5 stars and Life changing I honestly can't say enough about how much these Doctors have helped me. By the time I finally made an appointment with Pro-Holistic, I was feeling desperate. As a personal chef for more than 10 years, I spent lots of time on my feet and developed painful lower back pain. In addition, the burning nerve pain in my neck was back again and I was fearing another cervical disc replacement and fusion. My digestion was totally off and I had chronic fatigue. Basically, no energy to do my job much less put in extra time for my grandkids. I figured I'd give chiropractics another try. I'd been to a chiropractor 15 years ago and had an unremarkable experience. This one seemed different. Right from the start I found Drs Rae and Vargas to be knowledgeable, and confident that they could help me. They really LISTENED. Their plan for my treatment was 3 days a week and with my busy schedule, I honestly didn't think I could fit it in. It turned out to be an appointment I actually looked forward to. Blood tests revealed I had some nutritional points that needed balancing. In addition to that I had food sensitivities that were contributing to how I was feeling overall. Following their recommendations and 5 months later, I feel like a new person. Their holistic approach includes skilled chiropractic techniques, acupuncture, and functional nutrition directives that changed my life. They are dedicated problem solvers who really care about how you're feeling. They even knew how to work with the existing cervical hardware from my fusion. I was really nervous about that initially but quickly came to trust them completely. They are experienced and skilled. On top of all that, they are just wonderful people. The support staff are kind and helpful and always accommodating with my crazy schedule. My only regret is not calling them sooner! read more

It is said, "An amazing doctor is hard to find and impossible to forget. "That's how I want to describe Dr. Rae Bouvin. Initially, when someone recommended her to me, I was pretty skeptical. But as soon as I met her, I felt so comfortable and welcomed that I instantly ensured my trust regarding my health in her hands. In my opinion, such an attribute is hard to find in every doctor, which is very important to me. Also, she is an expert in her field and discloses every crucial detail to her patients. Moreover, I feel that being exceptionally professional and caring comes naturally to her. I was moved when she took out an ample amount of time to listen to my story involving a car accident and address the issue, and that's how I realized how empathic she is. In my view, she surely deserves an award for being the Best Chiropractor award for being so empathetic and caring. I would recommend her to all the patients in need because I feel everyone deserves a doctor who invests their time in them. And maybe getting treated by her could change their lives like it changed mine. read more

I went to another chiropractor for back pain years ago with very little improvement, so when my fiancé told me about this one she was going to I was skeptical. However, I couldn't help noticing the improvements to her health and mood, so I decided to give it a try. Dr. Rae and Dr. Vargas are sweet, caring and passionate about helping people. Not only is my back pain practically gone, but they take a whole self approach to wellness and Ive also seen improvements in my weight and overall health. I highly recommend them! read more

I started seeing dr. Rae in November due to back and shoulder pain. I am a fitness instructor and have had pain for years. Never once I thought that 2,5 months later I would be pain free. Dr. Rae and her staff and very knowledgeable, friendly, accommodating. I enjoy every visit, love the explanations on every procedure and exercise. The new location of their clinic is fresh, clean, and welcoming. I highly recommend Pro-Holistic Care, and I am happy I found them. read more

My wife and I both go here for treatment of physical ailments relating to sports as well as nutrition and general health. They are an awesome team and super friendly, but most important knowledgeable. I would highly recommend if you want to try acupuncture, need a chiropractic adjustment or have holistic health and nutrition needs to discuss. read more

Sounds kind of silly but Pro-Holistic saved my life... Earlier this year I had a lower spine injury that was caused from... wear and tear on the body, older age, genetics?!? Unknown. Basically, it left me in crippling pain and some times the loss of function in my legs. The un-describable blinding pain was non-stop but the loss of feeling in the legs came and went (couple of interesting times near stairs of which the landing didn't help the back situation). It wasn't just that I couldn't do anything productive but also that the pain left me cranky or so incoherent that conversation was impossible for me. Hence my disappearance for awhile. 5 Doctors, 2 MRI's, 3 x-rays, nerve test, muscle test, so on... results... nothing. I got used to hearing "We don't know what is wrong so let us try this test next". I didn't know where to turn to, I wasn't a big believer in chiropractor or acupuncture having done them before. I was in hell. Thanks to Mandy G and her Groupon, enters Pro-Holistic. I came in for a massage and a pain consultation. Right away I knew this place was special. I can't even tell you how friendly, down to earth but professional everyone is here. Seriously EVERYONE!! They will laugh with you, cry with you, or just listen to you. These people really care about your health and even your mood (hugs may be given out from time to time from a certain individual). I won't go into all of the details but Dr. Vargas (Or as I like to call him Dr. Crackalackin or just Doc V) reviewed my x-rays and listened to me describe my pain. He made a few small adjustments to my spine and that crippling pain I've felt for over 3 months straight, suddenly just dulled to a manageable pain. I'll admit it, I might have teared up a bit. Dr. V along with the other Chiro (and overall sweetheart) Dr. Rae (who you want to hate and love at the same time... aka Dr. ohhpainheyhorray) had me in a few more times for more adjustments and once we knew it was actually working, they set up a whole regiment. They even set everything up with my insurance. Since then, I have followed their directions and can say that I'm a new man. I still get a little pain from time to time but it's generally my own doing. Hell, I've even gotten into better physical shape with their physical therapy. Here is the break down Unbelievable staff who totally rock!! Chiropractic work Acupuncture Therapeutic Massages** Physical Therapy Many, many other things Takes insurance, though affordable without Easy to get to location They FIX you **Um, this needs a special note. I need you to really, really listen... BEST Massage Therapist I've ever had in my life. We all know I've had many and been all over. THE BEST!! She has magic hands (also a really cool personality). Pro-Holistic Care - Chiropractors Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

I initially began my Pro-Holistic journey with a Groupon massage and pain consultation. The massage was thorough; very relaxing and rejuvenating in a private room. Following that, I met with Dr. Vargas, who gently explained the many benefits of physical medicine and how it can help people and address my specific concerns. Along my wellness journey, I've been lectured many times about my weight, my diet, and my fitness all relating to long-term health and my knee pain. "If you just lose weight, you will feel better!" Well, yes, I know this, but it's a process. Dr. Vargas did not add to my list of lecturers, he brought new perspective and an immediate desire to help ME with MY struggles. Aside from injections (deemed not the right path for me after a medical assessment), he offered me chiropractic care in addition to information on transforming my eating habits as well as my thinking about food. Each 30-50 min visit consists of light to moderate stretches and exercises (they get more challenging with each passing week) for the back, neck, and core. It reminds me a bit of physical therapy. Then the doctor comes to give you an adjustment. I know a lot of people are nervous about adjustments, but I think it feels great! I feel more limber and aligned after an adjustment. All of this is done in one storefront space along with the waiting area and office area. It's an incredibly efficient use of space, but it doesn't allow for much privacy. It can get crowded in the evenings, and passers by peer in the windows and probably wonder what in the world we are up to. Sometimes there isn't enough space to do the exercises and occasionally, I must wait for others to finish with the equipment so I can continue. It can be challenging and a bit awkward to be doing lunges only inches from a person's face as she uses equipment on the floor. I find all of this tolerable considering how happy I am with business as a whole. We clients are understanding and courteous of each other. In my several weeks of coming here, I haven't felt any pressure or guilt or judgement from Dr. Vargas or anyone at Pro-Holistic. Only friendly support and encouragement. I have noticed a difference in my mindset already and I'm looking forward to trying the 3-day detox plan. I never thought I'd ever say I was looking forward to 3 days of a strict diet, but I think the fact that Dr. Vargas and his team are all so passionate about wellness makes me really want to give it a go! In addition to fostering a passion for wellness, the people at Pro-Holistic are incredibly kind and welcoming. Everyone maintains authentic positivity, even when clients have difficulties or concerns. The casual, yet professional vibe from the staff is really comforting to me as a client. The only other concern I can think of is that parking can be challenging, but is generally available if you spend a little time and go a block or two away. Near to the Rockwell Brownline stop if you don't drive. read more

I used a Groupon for their Pain Consultation and Massage. Dr. Edgardo did the Pain Consultation which was an interview on health history and a very basic analysis of the problem in my neck. (My neck seized up unexpectedly and I could not turn my head). It was information I already know since I am very in tune with my body, but can be very helpful for those who are not. For a more in depth evaluation the cost is more than what the Groupon provides. The massage I received was fantastic. I forget the woman's name but it did the trick and my neck is feeling much better. I should have booked another one right then and there, but I wanted to walk away and be sure that what she did actually had an effect. And it did. I was sore, as expected for a few days. I iced it and stretched it as recommended, and am now mobile and able to dance again. Due to Groupon they are booked like crazy but, I will go back and I recommend this place most definitely after the massage that I received. read more

I've been a client around 8 weeks and I can honestly say the impact on my well being is astounding. I am a runner and started experiencing a lot of leg issues (I've had knee issues for almost 19 years). I have seen knee doctors and none have ever fixed the problems. Anyway, after finishing a 10k this summer I developed lower back pain so severe I had to crawl from my car to my hotel room that day. Once back home I set up my consultation. From the beginning they took the time to understand all my symptoms and developed a plan to elevate not just the current pains, but also the lingering ones I had learned to live with. My plan includes PT, chiro and specific knee treatments. My back pain was gone in around a month and my knees have not felt this good in decades. I'm not 100% yet, but each day I feel better and I owe it to the team at Pro. read more

Dr. Vargas is very knowledgeable and kind! I highly recommend this place. I came here to get a full blood panel analysis and hair test (I'm vegan and I find it important to make sure I'm getting enough vitamins and minerals). The process itself was quick and easy. Visit #1 - blood pressure, weight measurement and other posture tests were completed along with a blood draw and a quick hair snipping for analysis. Prior to my visit I was sent a health questionnare that I was able to easily complete and sign online (love the convenience aspect)! Visit #2 - my results were in! Dr. Vargas went through my entire results packet (which was printed out for me and was sent to me electronically too). He explained which vitamins I was low in (vitamin D). He gave me suggestions on which vitamin brand to purchase (he suggested a very affordable and effective brand. Costs $12. Incredible!). He also gave me awesome snack recommendations! His explanation of everything was very thorough. He made sure all of my questions were answered before I left the office. You can tell Dr. Vargas is truly passionate about health and wellness.. I will most definitely be telling all my friends about this place! read more

I went in for severe lower back pain after the birth of my twins. Let me start by saying that Dr. Vargas and his staff are all very nice people. The issue I had with this place is the lack of organization, the complete inefficiency of time and the insurance billing issues. No one seems to know what's going on or what you're supposed to be doing. I had 4 appointments with Dr. Vargas - The first appointment was a consultation and he sent me for x-rays which I had no issue with. He provided me with a back brace to wear in the evenings. He was 20 minutes late but fine, everyone has an off day. The second appointment he was 15 minutes late and we reviewed my x-rays and I thought, OK, this is where the treatment will start. Well, after listening to him talk for 25 minutes he sent me home. He told me at my 3rd appointment that he FORGOT to adjust my back that day. On the 3rd appointment he had his associate adjust my back using a drop table and he spent the next 20 minutes talking to me about goals and life changes. My back still hurt as badly as when I came in but he said we'd discuss his plan on my next visit. On the 4th and final appointment, he went over my 2 year treatment plan that was going to cost me over $200 month for the 2 year time frame. Of course, that was not including the long list of supplements and cleanses he wanted me to take or do. This is with my insurance. I very am fortunate to have excellent coverage so this seemed excessive. I just could not go back. For each appointment he was 15-20 minutes behind schedule. And once I sat down with him I felt like the majority of the conversation was about him: his vacations, his family, his schooling, his past issues with insurance companies. Don't get me wrong, I love getting to know my physician but there was no real give and take of communication. It was solely him talking at me. The first time I was there I thought maybe it was an off day but I gave him 4 chances and it happened every time. No one knows what's going on. The space is so small that you would think that everyone would be forced into good communication but you'd be wrong. Everyone seems to be constantly confused about who should be doing what and when. I made 4 visits to a Pro-Holistic and only received one adjustment. The remainder of the time was all talking. That's insane. My last and probably most irritating issue is that he double billed my insurance. I probably would chalk this up as a mistake but it happened twice for 4 visits. Not to mention the fact the he spent a good 15 minutes telling me about his past issues with insurance companies and being called under review. He told me at the time he'd done nothing wrong and I'm by no means saying that he has but it does seem very questionable to me. I have left a message and I'm sure his staff will be getting back to me shortly to help rectify the issue. Needless to say, I stopped going to Pro-Holistic and found a new chiropractor in Lincoln Square. I've been to the new Chiropractor twice and my lower back pain is almost gone. She's always been on time and the best part is that BOTH times she's adjusted my back. She's given me a treatment plan and exercises to do at home. Her plan is covered by my insurance and will be 10 weeks. It will cost me a total of $200 FOR THE ENTIRE TREATMENT PLAN - this includes; adjustments, messages, stimulation, diet and supplements and a take home plan to help with preventing the issue in the future. That's about $4600 difference in my favor. That's just a little too big to ignore. Pro-Holistic was not for me and I would definitely not recommend it to anyone who's looking to feel better in the near future. Dr. Vargas may be a very nice man, but some of the ways he conducts his business seem a bit suspicious at best. read more

I'm writing a review based on my boyfriend's experience (he's not a Yelper lol). About 5 months his lower back pain had reached an all time high and his tendonitis in his arm was causing major problems as he is a professional musician (guitar, banjo, mandolin etc). He had a consultation with Dr Vargas and his staff to discuss various treatments; after visiting one - three times a week for an extended period of time, we are beyond pleased with this results....his back is MUCH better and he is now playing again which is a huge deal :) THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! I knew he would experience some relief, but the fact that he is doing so well just proves that the Pro-Holisitic Institute can genuinely help. They are affordable, and worth every penny. Not to mention they people who work there are compassionate, knowledgeable and all around a pleasure to be around. read more

Used a Groupon for the B-12 injections. No problem getting an appointment! Staff was wonderful! Truly caring! I started getting treatment from Dr Vargas at Pro-Holistic just over six weeks ago and there's already a huge improvement in my health and mobility overall. I'm a recent cancer survivor, just over 2 years. While I'm completely grateful to be alive and cancer free, I still wasn't feeling energetic, or really thriving in a way that would restore my health and truly heal my body. After a series of tests, as well as comprehensive allergy testing, I found out that I was highly deficient in vitamin D, which is linked to certain cancers. I also developed a huge number of food sensitivities that I had no idea were causing inflammation, which prevented me from losing weight or fully recover from cancer and cancer treatment. Did you know that chemotherapy is full of heavy metals? that can stay in your body for up to 50 years? Me neither! But under Dr. Vargas direction I began tasteless chelation drops which bind to the metals in order to eliminate them from your body. I also had seven surgeries during my cancer treatment, which kept me physically inactive and afterwards I was moving like someone much older, with tight muscles, and limited movement. I'm now doing a series of regular exercises as well as receiving regular chiropractic adjustments at each visit 2-3 times a week. None of these types of healing and health restoring treatments was offered by any of my cancer doctors. Their primary job is to save your life, once the crisis is over, most do not have the expertise to treat the results and side effects of the harsh and brutal treatment that they throw at cancer patients and hope you can survive the treatment as they try to destroy the cancer. I highly recommend Pro-holistic Care Physical Medicine, the name says it all. I'm getting comprehensive health restoring treatment, and so are others who come in with a huge variety of pain, injuries, and other physical traumas. It's a very welcoming environment, you will learn a great deal of how to get rid of what's stopping you from fully thriving, and learn how to really reconnect with yourself to recover, heal, and really enjoy your life without pain. read more

I have been a patient here for 5 years and I can't believe I'm just now expressing my gratitude and love. My life has changed for the better and I have an increased understanding of my mind and body. I feel like I'm at home when I'm there; I feel comfortable. My first visit was because of an allergy. I had acupuncture for the first time and boom my rash was gone. Months later I was hit by a car while on my bike and really messed up my neck. I did it all: acupuncture, physical therapy, adjustment, gaucha(sp) and I could move again. My neck was so bad that I couldn't play soccer(I played twice a week) and I really couldn't workout. To me that was devastating. I stuck with their protocol and could do the things I loved. My big reason for going was for reproductive reasons. I rarely had a monthly guest and my adrenal glands were not doing what they were supposed to. I was told it would be unlikely to have children( from my obgyn). I have a 14 month old son. I received accu and started getting a period and fixed my adrenals thru supplement and regular adjustment. Months later I found I was pregnant and I felt better. Not sluggish or tired....obviously the tired that comes from pregnancy was unavoidable. I still go and get adjusted with my husband and son. I have complete control of my health and a better awareness of what my body should feel. I'm thankful everyday for knowing Dr. Rae, Dr. Vargas, Monica, Jamie and Mylissa. I know they have gone thru a lot of changes but any new company will strive to be better and help take care of their patients more efficiently. I was there near the beginning and I'm so proud of their growth. I love the way I feel and I don't know what I would have done without ProHolistic care. read more

I can't say enough about this wonderful place! I found them through a groupon and I can't believe how much my life has changed, physically. I'm an very healthy active female but was experiencing some acute hip pain through exercising. After the most thorough exam of an hour and half, Dr Rae (she's wonderful) directed me to get xrays before treating (adjusting) me. Turns out I had some arthritis and the start of degenerative disc disease. No other chiropractor has spent that much time with me or require me to take an xray. They don't just treat you here, they work at healing you. The best part, I mentioned my body has felt out of whack from hormones for 3 years, without hesitation Dr Rae suggested a food allergy test. The food allergy test showed something else was going on and has explained what my traditional physician had missed for 3 years.. Dr Rae put me on very specific enzymes, probiotics and I have not felt this good in 4 years!! The entire staff is friendly, compassionate, attentive and I'm grateful for their existence. I honestly can't imagine what would have happened if I didn't find this wonderful place... read more

I have been going to Pro-Holistic care for years as well as my entire family. With all 3 of pregnancies Dr. Rae has helped me with my aches and when the babies were sideways she was able to have them turn head down and be ready before delivery. Post Pregnancy Dr. Rae has helped me close up my Diastasis recti that I got from my 2nd pregnancy which was C-Section and now we are working on closing it again after my 3rd child. It has been a struggle to lose the baby weight it isn't as easy as my 1st or 2nd so Dr. Vargas has put me on Chirothin to help and after 7days I am seeing results. Its for 6 wks and if you follow his instructions you will see results like I have from friends that went to him for natural weight loss. All 3 of my kids see both Dr. Rae & Dr. Vargas and love to get adjusted by both. My 2nd child when she was younger they wanted her to wear those special helmets to correct her flatness she had on the back of her head but Dr. Rae worked on her for weeks. It started to get better and were shocked she didn't need those special helmets. They treat you so well and pay close attention to your concerns. We love going to them and will continue for a long time! read more

When I became a mother, just like all other parents, my life completely changed. I was not prepared for all the uncertainty and insecurities that would come along with this amazing new job. There are two reasons why I wanted to thank Dr. Rae and Dr. Vargas. Dr. Rae Bouvin has been an amazing friend and doctor to my little guy. Not everyone knows but he was behind in all his gross motor skills. He was barely crawling by his first birthday when most parents are expecting their child to walk by then, I spent many days in tears wondering what I was doing wrong as a parent; or if something was wrong with my son. It was decided to aggressively treat Daniel by coming in twice a week for adjustments. If his nervous system is all good, things should happen right? Well they did! Within a few weeks he was crawling like a boss! After that, our concern was him walking. Dr. Rae kept reassuring me that he will do it when he's ready and in the meantime we just should work on keeping him healthy and strong. I really needed the support from other parents who have dealt with this but I've noticed that parents only talk about their child's accomplishments. They rarely ever talk about their struggles. We need a better support system. Thanks to Dr. Rae's constant reassurance and for the amazing relationship she built with Daniel, he now at 18 months is finally walking and doing it well. Not only that, but we did his 18 month evaluation last night and it looks like he's right where he should be for everything else too. I can't tell you the relief I feel about this. I cried a lot. I struggled wondering if being a full time working mother who only saw her kid 3 hours a day was the cause of this. Everything my son does or doesn't do weighs on my heart and my conscious. I'm proud of my decision to make Dr. Rae Daniel's main health care provider. She's been amazing and Daniel is such a healthy and happy baby! Now on to me...........I've done two weight loss programs with Dr. Edgardo R. Vargas. The first time was when I finally got pregnant after years of fertility issues and treatments. I will always feel that my weight loss and just getting healthy in general contributed to me finally having a healthy pregnancy that lead to my little Daniel. The second time was recently. I had a scary c-section surgery when having my son. Adjusting to being a parent and basically just letting myself go because I thought I would never be the same physically really lead to an unhealthy lifestyle. I basically gave up. When I decided to give Chirothin a try I was scared but hopeful and excited. Today I am 28lbs lighter............I can honestly say it was the best thing I did. Not only was the program easy to follow but educated me. Dr. Vargas helped me to learn how to continue to make healthy choices after the program. You always hear that the best way to lose weight and keep it off is to make a lifestyle change. It's the truth. And if that's what you are ready to do, Chirothin is honestly the best way to kick start that new life and new you. I'm so thankful for Dr. Vargas' direction, even after the program. I've learned so much about how our bodies work. It all makes sense and it's working for me. I have my confidence back after several months of hard work and i hope to continue this journey. Healthy Baby and Healthy Mommy! read more

Dr Rae & Dr Vargas have been life savers for me! Since my first visit I knew they had my best interest in mind. I've been a hairstylist for almost 20 years, which has affected my body. Dr Rae has been doing acupuncture on my for over a year, it's amazing how effective it's been and I don't have to take any medication for it. She's very attentive, compassionate yet direct. Dr. Vargas is passionate about sharing his knowledge on holistic weight loss, exercise & self improvement. I get weekly adjustments from them both, they are gentle. I like that they use the shifting table method, it's much more comfortable. They've both been immensely helpful in my quest for better health naturally. My 4 year old son & my husband have also been to them, we all love them! They are wonderful people and a great asset to the Lincoln Square community. read more

The focus to get to the root of the problem is what we have been searching for and found at Pro-Holistic! She's patient when answers my questions and with my very active 4 year old! We also love the receptionist, Jessie. She's beyond helpful and that's always a plus! Highly recommend! read more

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Dr. Bouvin and her husband Dr. Vargas are not only completely professional, highly trained and exceptionally knowledgeable, they are also careful listeners and very approachable. I went in with several issues --chronic fatigue, digestive problems, and insomnia, the last two of which I have had ever since I was a child and they were just getting worse. After just one session of acupuncture I had marked improvement--and the session began to heal my plantar fascitis, which I didn't know acupuncture could do! I then returned because I saw that Dr Bouvin was also a chiropractor, and I have had lower back pain for years. Again, after just one session I was able to sleep better and sit longer without pain (even though she warned me that one session alone may not make any difference). I have now started going regularly because just two sessions made a world of difference and I am eager to see lifetime problems finally solved and healed. It is a relief and a boon to work with doctors who are clear about costs, billing, and will only do what you ask them to. No hard sell, no acting as if they know your body and its complaints better than you, and the clinic atmosphere is friendly and relaxed all the way through to the staff. Dr. Rae has reached epic status in my household. We first visited her practice for the weightloss program, Chirothin. My husband has tried dozens of programs and never felt good and was never successful, until he went to Pro-Holistic. It's been 2 years now and the weight is still off, he understands his body better and his relationship with food. Then it was my son. After years of suffering from eczema, visiting multiple doctors who never were able to help him, Dr. Rae was able to literally cure him. My only regret is not seeing her earlier. I see her regularly for adjustments and nutrition check-ups. For anything health related she is now my first call. read more

First, let me just say I'm a skeptic when it comes to natural beauty treatments. I'm far more likely to go for a chemical peel than a natural oil product. However, after reading about cosmetic acupuncture in an article, I decided to give it a try, and I'm so glad I did. I genuinely can't believe the difference it's made in my skin. It's clearer, brighter and younger looking, and I've received so many compliments and people asking about what I've been doing differently. The treatments are actually relaxing, and Dr. Rae gets you in and out quickly. I've completed my first round of 10 treatments and will definitely keep this in my skincare regime. Highly recommend! read more

Feeling GREAT and ENERGIZED in the care of Drs. Bouvin and Vargas! I came upon this holistic health practice seeking guidance in areas that traditional medicine could not help with. My chief complaints: skin issues (eczema & psoriasis), low energy, bloated belly, stomach pain related to eating, and weight gain. Traditional doctors offered prescription meds that would only cure immediate symptoms but not explore or address the underlying problems. That was not cool with me at all! At this clinic, I was first impressed with the amount of time the doctors gave me to explain the issues I was facing. Education is clearly a top priority to help patients get to full wellness and be able to maintain it. Dr. Vargas is passionate and very knowledgeable about food sensitivities, weight issues, fitness, and chiropractic technique and so I've worked with him there. He's a former athlete with a gift to teach everyday people how to live very healthy and fit in simple ways. His high energy is contagious and motivating to follow his guidance for optimal health - he walks the talk of fit living! Dr. Bouvin shows expertise and proficiency around acupuncture and chiropractic technique, along with other various energy and health boosting strategies like supplements and natural health remedies. She's a modern day medicine woman who loves and rises to the challenge of difficult symptoms! She even has a technique to totally eliminate menstrual cramps! I'm still working my program with both doctors to get to my optimal health - but had to get on here and let people know what's available here that you can't find in traditional medicine. This practice is especially great for those who are frustrated with traditional medicine! read more

I came to Dr.Rae Bouvin looking for an alternate method to healing my eczema. I have worked with Doctors, Dermatologists, Chinese Medicine/Chinese Herbs, Acupuncture, elimination diets, essential oils and all sorts of lotions and creams. I had all these band aids that would offer slight relief but I never got to the bottom underlying issue that was causing the eczema and inflammation. With the help of Dr. Rae and Dr. Vargas I was finally able to get the answers I was looking for. I started receiving Chiropractic care, and an elimination diet supplied from Dr.Vargas to help heal the digestive system and inflammation. I also took a blood test to figure out foods I was sensitive too. After 2 weeks on the elimination diet my skin was just about clear, my energy increased, I was sleeping better and had motivation back! My head aches and back pain gone. I even started seeing some abs come in. Weight loss was just one of the many added bonuses! Once the results came back I found out I was eating foods that I believed were healthy such as almonds. In almond butter, raw almonds and almond milk. This was the first time I was able to have a nutrition plan that was tailored to my body. Dr. Rae and Dr. Vargas are incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. They are passionate about health, they live it and it's truly inspiring. They believe in helping us heal not just mask the symptoms. They even offer a payment plan to help make the visits affordable. I highly recommend Pro-Holistic Health Care. read more

Words can not describe the wonderful environment within Pro-Holistic. Dr. Rae and Dr. Vargas are compassionate, friendly, and they actually listen to what is wrong with you! They educate their patients to make sure that we actually understand instead of just ignoring us and writing out a prescription like most doctors do. I have a hyperactive thyroid and prefer to not take medication and with the help of Dr Rae and her excellent accupunture, I am starting to really feel normal again! Whether you are going in for an adjustment, accupuncture, massage, or for medical advice, you can NOT go wrong with Dr Rae and Dr Vargas...truly top notch professionals in their field! read more

5 stars for the massage therapist. 5 stars for Dr. Rae, and NOW, 5 stars for Dr. Edgardo! After 45 years, I just walked with a cane and lived with it. Now, my feet are much more in alignment and I haven't used a cane in over a month. Dr. Edgardo is incredible. And he's really nice. And he speaks fluent Spanish. And he charges reasonable fees. If you're in pain and you don't want to be, make Pro-Holistic your first call. read more

I got the groupon for this place which was a good deal. I'm sorry but the doctor has a very heavy accent and talks super fast so I didn't understand what he said clearly.i had my appointment for 6:00 and a lady who had it at 6:30 went before me and when I asked the receptionist why it's taking forever she said sorry (umm not a good first impression) I had to wait an hour and a half for my appointment which was ridiculous! They need to schedule better The massage was good and relaxing but I would not come back. They were very pushy to get me another appointment but I didn't want one. read more

I have been going to see Dr. Vargas for almost a year now, best decision I have ever made. I used to be in constant pain, I have scoliosis and thought I was going to have to get used to being in pain. Ever since I started my treatments with Dr. Vargas I finally know what life is without pain. He even helped me loose 25 lbs with a holistic weight loss program. He has been such a pleasure to work with. read more

I started seeing Dr. Rae over 5 years ago when I was looking for a chiropractor closer to where I live. Dr. Rae is always going above and beyond to help with any care I need. She is so kind, always listens, and helps in any way she can. I was so pleased to learn she also does acupuncture, which I have done numerous times with her, and always get great results. I was so happy with the care my husband started seeing her as well and a couple of my friends too. Definitely recommend going to Pro-Holistic! read more

I had a painful injury in my lower back from riding a bicycle that was too big for me and came to Pro-Holistic Physical Care. At the time I was sleeping on a yoga mat at night because sleeping in a bed just made the pain worse. I went through some intensive rehab working with Dr. Vargas and Monica. When rehab was over I no longer had any pain. I can't recommend them enough. I continue to go regularly for adjustments and massages. read more

Dr. Rae and Dr. Vargas truly care about their patients. I have been coming here since March and I commute all the way from downtown. I have been to so many doctors trying to get a few medical conditions under control and no one has been able to help me. I even had surgery for some woman issues last year and even the surgery didn't make a dent in how I feel. Dr. Rae and Dr. Vargas go above and beyond for their patients. They take the extra time to listen and really figure out ways to help you. I have noticed a significant difference in the way I feel and was able to put a lot of medication aside, which says a lot, since I've been on certain meds since I was 16. I highly recommend Pro-Hollistic Care, their approach is a very important part of being healthy and really works. Also, Lori at the front desk is also awesome; she will give you the best customer service. Every Tuesday and Thursday she stays late for me just so I can finish my rehab. I feel like I'm at home when I'm there, I've never had that feeling at any other docs office. read more

I have always been very sceptical when it comes to chiropractic--after having had a terrible experience many years ago....and then I met Dr. Rae. OMG! I have had serious, chronic back and neck pain for years and was so desparate one day that I was willing to do ANYTHING to make it go away. I went to see Dr. Rae and after just one treatment I was actually able to stand up without being in agony for the first time in months!!!!! She is amazing and her practice is wonderful. They are warm, friendly and professional. Speaking of professional...I read the other review and just wanted to comment: You know, they are actually a professional health clinic?! I think it would be pretty irresponsible of them to work on you without getting a bit of health information first! Do you want to end up crippled or something? Anyway, back to the real reason I'm writing... I can not recommend this clinic highly enough! read more
