Pros: -LOTS of activities for little kids -Great security at all times thanks to LPD and their mobile command center -Tons of parking, thought it fills up -Local groups have fundraisers with discounted wristbands that are easy to find -Lots of food options, including stands run by local nonprofit organizations -The ice arena is open with a vending machine and bathrooms. And it's air conditioned -Handicap parking available Cons: - Free parking fills up fast -Gets a bit chaotic in the evenings when the older crowds come in -Craft show is more like a vendor show and out of the way -Some of the workers did not have appropriate sun coverage in the heat and we felt so bad they weren't provided that. -General fair overpriced everything. It was nearly 100 degrees when we went, so we brought an entire backpack of frozen water bottles as well as all the sun gear. Probably due to the heat, there were no lines and our kids were happy to zoom around keeping cool and riding everything they could. There are a bunch of toddler and kid rides which was just what we wanted. One adult wristband was enough to go on a few additional rides with our 5 year old. We brought lunch and ate at covered picnic tables. It was hot, and as adults we were sort of miserable trudging all over the blacktop, but our kids had so much fun and 6 months later, are still talking about it.

I found out about this tradition after the holidays. Every fireworks store was closed. Enter Pat. I called the Exotic Fireworks number at 313-477-7636. He opened the store just to sell me $20 worth of fireworks. He was so kind and accommodating. His store is wheelchair accessible, offered a personal shopping experience, and affordable! I'm very happy with my service. We have a fireworks guy now. We plan to purchase all of our fireworks through Pat from now on.

Gorgeous park along the Huron river between Ann Arbor and Dexter. Tons of amenities including an…read more18-hole golf course, disc golf course, picnic areas, playgrounds, baseball diamonds, biking and hiking trails, nature trails, river fishing, and boat launches for canoes and kayaks. My husband and I brought our pups here for a little outdoor time during social distancing and despite it being a gorgeous Saturday early-evening we didn't run into any one else on any of the trails we explored. So it's a really great spot to enjoy some outdoor adventures without worrying about getting too close to other people. Beautifully maintained, tons of parking and pup friendly! Just remember bug spray if you get into the woods/near the river. I forgot and got eaten up quite a bit!

Everyone has to bring a firework of some kind.. roman candle, mortar... rocket So after boating in Lake Erie we stopped by Motor City... my first time there, it is way in the back of a mostly vacant discount mall. Their store is huge with a overwhelming selection.... way more that the tents that pop up all over town. One of the guys with us said their prices were a lot less than other places. They are open year round and the staff was very helpful. All I know is we walked out of there with a whole lot of fire and noise in our bags. A few nights later on the 4th, the party was awesome. Fortunately there was a SFL there (sober fireworks lighter) and we all sat back and enjoyed a good 45 minute display of 35 or so of the best colorful, loud, bright, crackling fireworks money can buy......

Their prices were pretty good...we usually go to Phantom Fireworks, but their buy 1 get 2 free…read morecoupons expired this year for some reason so we ended up here. My main issue is with one of the cakes we bought- Dirty Deeds- it was shaped like n upside down trapezoid which turned out to be a huge issue. We have NEVER had any issues when lighting off fireworks but this thing let me tell you ...we will never buy another cake that isn't just a rectangle. It was the first cake we did after lighting a few mortars and I'm surprised we lit anything else off. After two or three went into the sky, the whole thing tipped over and started shooting down the street one way, then turned and shot the other way...thank god not at us..and it somehow missed the cars that were in the street a few houses down. It did however manage to shoot fireworks at a group of our neighbors that were outside about 3 houses down and it sent the kids running...we felt SO bad. They watch us every year and this has never happened...so glad nobody was hurt and that they came back out to enjoy the rest of the fireworks. That is a terrible design - don't buy anything like that...stick to the regular shaped cakes.
