Stop hesitating or debating over whether you think you *need* a wedding planner....You NEED Abby! I found Abby in perfect time -- about two months before my wedding -- and she was a true God-send! Immediately from the start, she made me feel calm and made me feel like everything was going to be okay -- and it was! We sat down together about a month before the big day and we went through EVERYTHING together: who my vendors were, what I had for a schedule so far, what my vision was for the decor, what my vision was in general, my to-do list, etc. There were big holes in my wedding to-do list and Abby stepped right up to the plate. She rolled up her sleeves and got to work in helping me finish all of the last-minute planning details that I just didn't have the time for. She called all of my vendors, confirmed their services and arrival times, sent them each schedules, and helped me figure out a transportation schedule for my wedding guests. Fast-forward to the day of the wedding. It's early. I'm inside the venue (where my family and I also stayed the night), just waking up, and I look out my window. There's Abby, coffee in hand, getting right to work with setting things up. A couple of hours later, while I'm getting my hair done, Abby comes in to check on me and make sure I feel good and have everything I need. My mom and mom-in-law were always asking her questions, needing this, needing that, and while I was rolling my eyes at them, she handled all of their questions, favors, and needs with grace and a genuine smile. They offered me 50% off a future party but after that why would I even hire them again, and throw in the poor customer service. All of the parents were telling me how I should get my money back, even the kids were saying she wasn't real they could see her hair. I would have gladly paid double for a better entertainer. It's not the money but the principle that I did not get what I paid for. You would think for $150 a hour Elsa could get herself a decent wig. In recalling everything we did together before writing this review, I typed Merlene's name into my email search, there were 23 search results. Of those 23 emails, 3 had over 20 responses each. Merlene was THAT dedicated to keeping everything organized and tailored to our personalities. During our first consultation, Merlene explained very clearly what she could and couldn't assist with, and even offered services we hadn't even thought of. Our decorations, centerpieces, bouquets, boutonnieres, arch, pipe and drape and even day-of planning were all taken care of by Merlene. When we lost our catering manager a month before the wedding and when we got reassigned a new entertainment consultant, Merlene was there to support us and keep us on track. She also coordinated very well with vendors with strong personalities. Everything happened on time and was flawless, even when the inevitable (rain in Miami) happened and the ceremony setup had to be moved inside 15 minutes before the wedding.
