This letter goes out to all the pool owners who are considering repairing your pools or have wasted thousands of dollars repairing your pool finding out later that bad advice was given out. About 8 years ago, I contracted with Concord Pools to REPAIR my pool. I found the whole process with them quite exhausting. Initially, things were off on the right foot, but I soon found out that I had made a big mistake contracting with them. Like most pool builders, they started in the fall, but unlike most, did not finish mine until almost July of the next year. My contract was for repairing my existing pool even though my pool was fiberglass/plastic in the inside and was cracking at the time. First, it was the customer service issues of never getting a response back from issues and delays. Next, it was since my pool was not finished in the fall, my pool was left open and my liner was a mess in the spring. I have a very high water table and Concord knew from the start that this was an issue. To make a long story short, I THREW away my money fixing a pool that was destined to collapse in the near future. And collapse it did. This past spring after a very severe winter, I found my entire pools inside had collapsed. If Concord had recommended at the time that I replace the plastic with steel and placed a French drain around the outside, I would not have had to RE-SPEND thousands of dollars redoing my pool. Fortunately, I had been doing business with a local Pool Builder PRO-Dive services out of Galway for the last few years to open and shut my pool. Geoff, at Pro-Dive Pools immediately came over to the house to take a look at the mess that I had and offered recommendations. He was very honest with me right up front letting me know that this pool should have been rebuilt years ago and a correct and complete drainage system had to be in place to adequately protect my now growing investment. He further explained that my pool had to be raised a foot to reduce the chance of float and that a new pool had to be reinstalled. Geoff stated that he would be installing a complete drainage system which included stone and sand and a sump-line hooked directly to the pool to rid any incoming water to the back of the pool. Geoff is an engineer and understands all of the aspects of a complicated issue as mine. We were impressed with the presentation so we decided to contract with Geoff and Pro-Dive. After making this decision, it was probably one of the best decisions that I have made. Geoff and his crew did a great job with the pool, drainage, and electric hookup. My system is a one of a kind system that a sump-line is hooked up right to the pool and automatically flushes excess water out directly into the sewer line. With this new drainage hookup, this has also greatly reduced the amount of water that would enter my cellar for sump removal. I feel as if my money was well spent. I will not have to be revisiting any time soon my pool issues and also have an added benefit of significantly reduced water into my house. I would highly recommend Pro-Dive Pools for their professionalism, honesty, and mostly their quality of work. I wish I had contacted them 10 years ago. I would not have spent extra money for a new pool. I would not hesitate to give Geoff at Pro-Dive a call for any of your pool needs. They have done us well for several years. The guy who runs this business is named Geoff. He is a lousy businessman with a serious attitude problem toward prospective customers. The company's prices are seriously outrageous and with this jerk's attitude it's amazing he stays in business. So if you need a reliable pool service in the Albany area, please save yourself the aggravation and find someone else. They did an amazing job on my pool. It had been let go by the previous owner for years. The crew came in and re-build my entire pool from top to bottom. They took a dilapidated old pool and made it look new again. I have not had any issue with it at all. Super happy and highly recommend this company. read more
